We were greeted immediately by the owner, Martha , who was as friendly and nice as anybody we have ever encountered. The three of us got into a conversation that lasted for most of an hour. Martha was so friendly, cordial, interesting and anxious to learn more about us as strangers and consequently we were enamored over her background as well. Our conversation centered on our backgrounds and respective families and frankly became a highlight of our day and time in Mount Airy. She was such an interesting individual who obviously loves what she does professionally. After I did that, one of the workers asked me where I put the clothes. I told her I put them back, and then she proceeded to check all the pieces that I tried on. Then as I was leaving, they called me back in asking where I put the one dress because they could not find it. I walked right in and found it in 30 seconds and I felt like I knew the store better than the employee. I understand that they have a job to do and have to make sure people do not steal but I felt judged the moment I walked in. I felt like I was accused of stealing and if they are so worried about people stealing then put sensors on their clothes.
