Unfortunately, we had such a bad experience we cannot recommend them, nor will we use them again…read more Our cats were picked up, and we noticed that the one was on the top shelf surrounded by old dried up poop. She was also wet underneath. This was pointed out to staff who had no answer or explanation for why she was up there, nor for how long. This cat cannot jump that high as she's elderly and has a couple of underlying health issues. Upon returning home, within one day, she began vomiting and having diarrhea all over the basement and herself. We immediately brought her to our vet, who had to keep her for three nights. She was severely dehydrated, developed a kidney infection, and her bowels were swollen and inflamed. This visit with the Cat Chalet turned into a close to $2500 expense as a result of what they charged, in addition to our vet hospital bill. What we have ascertained is that someone likely placed her on the top shelf, and she couldn't get down on her own; so she didn't eat or drink, and was forced to soil herself and the shelf she was sitting on. If staff were paying attention, they should have/would have noticed she was up there for several days, and should have been concerned about her food and water intake. Even if this were just a result of stress (this was the first time this has happened and she'd been there before), we should have been notified if she weren't eating or drinking. She was noticeably lighter when we picked her up as well, so there is also weight loss on a cat who cannot afford to lose any more muscle mass. We are so upset, disappointed, and generally very angry that this happened. In the future, we will be scheduling someone we know and trust to stay in our home to take care of them - we just cannot trust this place to take proper care of our cats, and after this experience, will never bring them out to be boarded again.

She came home in shock and growled at our other dog (who she loves and has never previously growled at). Whatever they did during the day together, she was affected quite negatively. From a business standpoint, Kyle gives 30 minute lectures filled with analogies that make no sense. Also, 4:40 pickup means 5:30 apparently.

We've tried several trainers and boarding facilities in various cities and states. We even resorted to trying a famous YouTube trainer and he came back worse and even more anxious. Typically, these expensive "board and trains" we've participated in have ended with medication recommendations and a "good luck". One final trainer recommended we try Mind Of Dog because she also wasn't able to break through. I'm so grateful we did. He's thriving and comes home exhausted. An added bonus is the people training we've received. The best part of all of it, is that he's finally getting the exercise and structure he's always needed and deserves. They handle the dogs calmly, but with lots of structure and clear boundaries, which our dog desperately needs. We can finally go to work and travel without worrying that he's being mishandled or ignored. We're so grateful to have found this place and I have to admit, I was waiting for him to fail again, because we had lost all hope. I highly recommend that you give Mind Of Dog a shot, especially if you're in a similar position as we were. Thanks, Mind of Dog! Senna loves you all and is so grateful to be able to play with dogs without fear and anxiety.

She is going back soon and I know she will love it. The owner is fabulous and also has her masters degree in Animal Behavior. I took my dog here only because it was recommended. I have an 8 year old Aussie (boy dog named…read moreSasha) who I have never boarded or left at any type of dog daycare. I've always been hesitant to leave my dog off with a stranger. Especially since I know that my dog is a bit anxious when left with new people (even for a few minutes). He has only ever stayed with my parents and siblings. When I got there, it was a fenced in house with a lake and a lot of space. Gabbie met my dog first before introducing him to any other dogs. She asked us questions, and we explained Sasha's personality. She then introduced our dog to her dog, and observed their energy. Then she brought out one dog at a time until all dogs were out and were able to meet my dog. This gave me a good feeling, because she obviously knew what she was doing. It was not a place where my dog was put in a cage, but a place where he was part of a group. When I left he gave me the you-are-abandoning-me look. I am not the type of person to really worry, but it was great that a few hours later, i got a message from Gabbie saying my dog had settled in nicely. She sent me a picture of him, and when i checked the next day, she had dozens of pictures of the activities all the dogs did for the day. At that point I knew my dog probably already forgot who i was and was having the time of his life. I picked him up 2 days later, and he came out like if he owned the place. He came out with his head up, a smile one his face, and a tail that wagged 100 wags/second. I would recommend this place to anyone. Sasha will be back this month!
