What you should know about me: -I take my haircuts…read moreseriously. -My french sucks. So, i'm a month and half into an extended vacation. When at home, I usually get my hair did every 2-3 weeks. Needless to say, I was feindin' for a haircut. After some research La Clé seemed to be a legit barbershop. I'd read some mixed reviews from Americans with shitty french, such as myself. Here's how I went about it: Stalked their IG for a style I liked, saved it to my phone. Walked in, luckily they have a couple english speaking barbers. Nothing was open that day, came back the next day. Showed up the next day, stumbled my way through the intro. Showed the barber the pic, low and behold he did me up real good! Super clean fade. They also wash your hair, not really a thing in american barber shops, but appreciated none the less. Now, he took 45mins-1hr. So don't expect a 20min greatclips experience. That's not what you're going to get here. You're also going to be paying big city barbershop prices. 32euros for a cut, about the same as what I paid in San Francisco.

The first moment I stepped into the place, I knew it was gonna perfect. They strictly focus on men's haircuts and not females. They have motorcycle posters, tattoos, and just the typical male environment. This female with blonde hair and tattoos all over was the one to cut my hair. I didn't catch her name, too bad. She asked me for my preference and I told her how I wanted it. I was a bit nervous at first cause she was fading very slowly and I'm not use to that with my regular barber. I didn't say anything and just let her do her thing. This is one of the best haircuts I had, even better than my regular that I go to sad to say. I'll def be back when I'm visiting Paris! I also tipped her an extra $10 cause she was that good!

Worst haircut of my life…read more I checked this establishment extensively on the internet, made an appointment and brought a picture to show what I wanted. The hairdresser tried but what I got was absolutely nothing resembling the picture: my bangs are at my hairline instead of my eyebrows, the sides are extremely short now but were nothing like that in the picture. I am embarrassed to go outside, it's that bad. I never write these comments but am doing so because I would never wish this horror on anyone else. And it cost 40 Euro to have my appearance butchered!

I feel that I paid for 15 minutes of a massacre. I'm sure they had good intentions but clearly this is not the place to give instructions or your thoughts on how you want your own hair. Apparently like Alan J., he got his haircut from the guy also answers the telephone, so he had to stop what he was doing every few minutes to answer the phone. He left the shop so disappointed and feeling like he was ripped off because it was so ridiculously expensive. We woke up this morning to find out his hair was completely uneven and patchy, we went to our local barber to fix the mess this guy created. He used to get his haircut there all the time, but this place in the past few years has changed either ownership or management and it's really gone downhill. Never again.

As soon as I walked in, I knew this place had something special. Everyone in there was very much in…read moresync with each other. They worked seamlessly together to give you the best service they can give. On top of that they all spoke English to some extent. When I walked in One of the guys greeted me immediately and offered me a cup of coffee while I wait. He told me it wouldn't be long and he was lying. As soon I finished my coffee a woman was ready to wash my hair and beard to prep me for my cut. It was very relaxing and I can still feel her hands gently massaging my scalp and jawline with a balm that smelled of peppermint. After relaxing a few minutes with her, I floated over to the chair where my cut and trim would ensue. The gentleman that cut my hair knows his craft and he was more than willing, if not eager, to bridge over our language barriers. His English was sufficiently coherent and he understood what I wanted for my haircut. I left my beard up to him and he did not disappoint. He trimmed and shaped without fear to give me the best aesthetic. I'm glad I stepped into this barbershop in Paris. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
