This place is absolutely great. I came here as a first timer looking to purchase my first handgun. Upon walking in, you do not feel awkward or receive weird looks like many gun places do towards young females. I was never once treated like "a female beginner shooter", but rather just a beginner shooter. The people who work here are not only extremely knowledgeable and professional, but they are kind and provide a warm welcome for newbies. I ended up taking two beginner shooting lessons here so far with Rick, who is a great instructor by the way, and was very pleased with the knowledge I walked out with. I told my brother about this place and he has taken a lesson here as well. I plan on continuing to come here for lessons and eventually will sign up for some women's shooting classes, among others. I'd also like to add that they truly care about you knowing what you are doing before purchasing a gun if you are a newbie. They direct you to some class options to learn, as well as helping you choose what purchase would be right for you. I'm so happy I found this place. It is definitely worth the drive for me! FYI if you come to the range around 11am-1pm on Saturdays it could be a bit busy, but it honestly didn't affect me at all. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect because I have never been to a fire arms training center before to practice shooting. From the minute I walked in I knew this was no ordinary firing range. I was immediately greeted by the owner Dan, and his staff who are so nice and answered all my questions. ( I didn't even know Dan was the owner until my 4th time shooting this past Friday. This place is absolutely beautiful inside. Even the bathrooms are really nice, clean and there are supplies including hand lotion and deleading soap to wash your hands when your done shooting. It removes the residue left over. In the front as I enter is the checkin. I also was greeted by a nice gentleman who I told that this was my first time ever going to a range. He had me go into a classroom and watch a safety video and fill out some paperwork. ( This is a standard procedure for everyone, it's all about safety first.) My bf and I were walked over to the rental area. Behind the counter was Melissa, she helped me figure out what gun would be best for me to rent. On the wall was every kind of handgun, rifle, AR 15 that can be rented. They also have ammunition for all the guns and rentals to be purchased. Since I'm a newbie, I was able to take advantage of a package they offered for $19.99. It came with a pair of goggles, and headphones to keep. It's mandatory to have both if your going to target practice. It gets very loud in the shooting area, and you have to protect your eyes and ears. The staff was very helpful especially Big Rich, Big Joe, Steve who all work in the stall area. These guys are really well trained and very professional. They completely put me at ease. They have the patience of a saint and made some really good suggestions for me. They walk around and are very helpful to everyone, and they make sure everyone is following the rules and staying safe. TTC does offer private lessons too. I chose the Glock 44, 22 long for my first rental. It was light and very easy to handle. A person who is either lefty or righty can use it. ( I'm lefty.) My BF brought his own guns to target shoot. A Sar 9 and a Glock 42. Since this was my first time ever shooting, Steve the instructor came over and spent alot of time with me. He was very kind, very through, and put me at ease. At first I was terrified,but after getting proper instructions with shooting the gun I felt totally calm, and more at ease. I was told I did extremely well for my first time, and women usually are a better shot then men. TTC really is all about safety first! They offer all kinds of classes, and certifications, they even have classes for just women. Melissa is the event coordinator, Scott is in charge of training and pictures and Adam is in sales. This would be a great place to hold a corporate event. There is plenty of parking out front. They do sell yearly memberships. I believe they start around $300 and up a year depending on what type of membership you want. I feel very comfortable here and have now gone four times because I like it so much. I highly recommend TTC for anyone looking for a fun place to target shoot, or attend classes. This is definitely high on my list. read more

Excellent range but pricey. Training prices are way too time consuming and therefore exorbitant. Even with a VIP membership it was very difficult to get the training director on the phone to clarify how to use my holster. I have a CCW permit in other states and have been shooting since 7 years old. Their requirements didn't take this into consideration and are very costly. Before recommending their training, they could pre-test members. Their NJ CCW classes as very expensive compared to other ranges. Too many hours and $$$. The training director recently posted that people who failed at TTC were qualified by other ranges. The onerous and costly training requirements compound the fact that NJ doesn't want to abide by the recent US Supreme Court Bruen decision which reaffirms the 2nd amendment rights. Most US states don't even require a CCW permit anymore. read more

I was disappointed that when I stopped in to buy some 5.56. & 223 ammo, they wouldn't sell it to me because I didn't have my FFID card on me. NJ law allows the purchase of rifle/shotgun ammo without the card; It is only required for handgun ammo (9mm or 45 ACP. When I asked if this was the policy of the range, the rude and dismissive receptionist said "it's the law"....clearly she's uneducated. You would think such a high-end place would know the rules. I can appreciate if they have a policy similar to Dick's Sporting goods, but know your facts- I routinely purchase from hunting/fishing stores and only am required to show my card if purchasing handgun ammo. read more

The price on ammo was the cheapest i found at the time of me being there. Also the selection of rentals they have for you to choose from to shoot at the range is huge. They also offer a ton of classes from beginner to experienced level. The only reason im not giving them 5 stars is because they older gentleman i dealt with while looking at handguns wasnt very pleasant. I asked a question on the only 1911 he had on the shelf and he informed if i dont know anything about a 1911 i shouldnt even be holding one. This place reminds me of the inside of a toilet, except it smelled worse. The girl at the reception area was not friendly at all, especially to new customers who've never been there before. Very unfriendly vibe from everyone I have to say. Trying to reach by phone is a lost cause, no returned call for the messages left and nobody ever picks up live. This is the nicest shooting range that I have ever been to! This place is classy all the way! The entire building is fancy and inviting. The staff truly is helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure that anyone who enters is taken care of. There are 12 portals and they are modern and efficient. It is a very comfortable place to shoot. I could spend all day here. It is very comfortable. I cannot speak for the men's bathroom but the ladies bathroom is truly gorgeous! Makes me, as a female member, feel really welcome. TTC is easily the best gun range in Central NJ. I have been going to TTC since they opened and I have never been disappointed. The range is the best indoor range I have been to and I love the automated system incorporated as well as the bright lighting. The range officers are very knowledgable and do not bother you. They help when they can. The front retail area is nice, but does not have a large selection, which is perfectly OK. I ordered firearms from TTC and proceeded with my purchase that way. I heard about this range for over a year now. I finally took my son to teach him gun saftey and shooting. Did not know what to expect. I know there are other places cheaper to shoot knowing I was not a member, but when we walked in, it was mind blowing. Gorgeous facility and from the first person you meet to the range officers, they are so friendly and make you feel like you been going there for 20 years. Today we're the wife and I try out this range , yes it's high end and high tech . The place was super clean and the furniture and details of the facility were beautiful crafted like a million dollar home . The staff was easy to deal with . The big negative is the prices your paying a higher rate and higher cost for the gun range at this facility . Expect to pay about 45 dollars for an hour for two shooters per one port . Bullet hole and other shooter range charge about 20 bucks . There was plenty of parking and guns for rent for people who need to rent them . Membership are well wroth it if you a monthly shooter and want to shoot here . Also not no Russian ammo and steel casing allowed at this place . I don't know if because of the steel heads or the steel casing, I know a lot of ranges sell the brass casing off to make a profit. As new gun owners, my buddy and I signed up for a lesson. The people could not have been nicer. They made both my friend, and l, feel comfortable and confident during our time at the facility. We each have had some experience with firearms in the past but wanted to get a refresher course. The range was well cared for and clean. Today my wife and I attended this facility and were EXTREMELY disappointed at the customer service. The main receptionist (Lauren) is not pleasant and was not willing to accommodate us. We were told we MUST call THREE DAYS in advance prior to attending this facility if this is our first time and do not have a NJ Firearms Identification Card. Calling three (3) days in advance is NOT advertised on the website www.tacticaltrainingcenternj.com The manager-on-duty (Melissa) was very rude and did not communicate very well over the phone. Her soft skills must be addressed because she lacks the ability to address customers in a professional manner. I was also refused the name of the owner to discuss the schedule. If Melissa and Lauren cannot provide scheduling information, then this facility has a problem with communication with their staff. After some online research, I came across the the owners names. JOAN SULK and DAN SULK of Readington, NJ are the proud owners of this privately-owned business named TTC. This was my second time coming here. Both visits, i came at a good time where it wasn't too busy, but you could still see the popularity of the place. We've never rented a gun from them, but it seems that they have a decent amount of options you may use if you wanted. They also sell some guns that you are able to use at the range before purchase. Its a very clean and well kept establishment. The range itself has adequate space between the lanes. It's very easy to put up your targets and set it at the distance you want and to bring the target back to you. It's always a good time when I visit. The only other range I've been to was outdoors making it difficult to compare the two. But from my opinion, it's a very nice place to go. Highly recommend. read more

40 yard range, clean, and simple but very $$$. Not worth it IMO. Couldn't shoot my steel core rounds from my AR yet they're on their website bragging about being able to accommodate 50 BMG rounds. No thanks. I'll stick to Bullet Hole for half the price and has everything I need to shoot paper. read more

I did some checking of this place on line and called them to see what I needed to do to go and shoot with my son who is a US Marine. I called and was told, just come in and we'll set you up. When we got there we were asked for our FID, NJ Firearms ID card. No mention of this on the website or in any of my telephone conversations. I was very disappointed that we couldn't shoot as this was our planned afternoon out with the guys. If this is a mandatory legal requirement they should at least mention somewhere that you can't use the facility without it. read more
