From Hydro Flask, to MEC's own line, you can find something that will suit your hydration needs. I saw lots of camping items. Tents. Cookware. LED lanterns. This store has everything imaginable. The downside is that I didn't see any sales items. I find it expensive to shop here, especially post-co-op memberships. There are two floors to this store. Don't buy Arc'teryx!…read more I own several Arc'teryx jackets, and almost all of them have shown the same failure: the waterproof zippers delaminated and the seam tapes started peeling off, despite extremely light use. These jackets were stored clean in a closet for most of their life, with no visible wear or damage anywhere else. The only failures were in the zippers and seam tapes, which clearly points to structural integrity issues and premature material breakdown, not misuse. When I contacted Arc'teryx Warranty, the response was extremely disappointing. They suggested the jackets needed washing every 5-20 days of use -- which makes no sense given how little they were worn -- and then offered only 20% of the original MSRP if I returned the jackets. I asked for proper repairs (even at a reasonable cost), but they refused. For a brand that markets itself as "premium" and charges premium prices, the durability is shockingly poor, and the warranty support does not match the reputation. I own Gore‑Tex jackets and non Gore-Tex jackets from The North Face, Patagonia, Marmot, and MEC that are older and still look new. None have seam tape or zipper failures. I'll be sharing this experience on consumer platforms to help others make informed decisions. At this price point, customers deserve better materials, better construction, and far better warranty support.

I've been twice this summer - early June in the evening and mid July for 9 AM kayaking. I enjoyed the early morning peace and tranquillity. We were guided by a long line of geese and also saw two egrets along the way. Very peaceful and they make it so easy as they drag the kayaks down to the launch beach. Getting in and especially out of the kayak is challenging. It would be great to have a pole or chair to grab onto to pull yourself up and out. But otherwise, a fabulous not expensive trip away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The people who work there are nice (which is surprisingly unusual for a baitshop in Ontario), the prices are good (ditto; its a great spot to stockup on extra tackle and such en-route to your fishing spot), and the minnows are quite vigorous. In our experience driving across Ontario, you usually get to pick one of those things. No other shop we've seen has managed to hit all three. We've gotten fairly resigned to a sizable percentage (sometimes half) of the minnows dying before we get a chance to use them, but that just isn't the problem here. Every single unused minnow we bought is still alive and well in my cooler over a day later, and aside from a few that seem to have died from oxygen deprivation while we were changing fishing spots, we didn't lose any en-route. The only cons are: the place is a little bit hard to find (it's behind the Husky, and in a little corner unit that's a bit hard to spot), and occasionally their hours change a bit. So you may want to call in to be sure they're open at times. Still, the location is handy if you're going up North from the GTA to fish, and they're near Bass Pro (their reputation is good enough that the fellows at Bass Pro were the ones that originally directed us here), so its a great one-stop spot to replenish equipment as well as bait and tackle.

At least they will take their used gear back the next day or the next season if you want to trade up or get a different size. Then you will only pay the difference and help support the store with renewed stock, a very cool idea! So there you go - no excuses when someone says, 'Let's go skating!'
