Before you entrust any of your funds with this bank and this management, please read this…read more This a long overdue review on HVCB's management, in particular: Ruth Powell, branch manager, Bob Eastham vice president and Warren "Randy" Gerleit, executive vice president. On August, 2013 Ruth Powell has authorized 3 wire transfers (the total was XXX,XXX.XX number) from our account to a Chinese account. The wires were transferred on an email request in my name based on a poorly written email message exactly like a Nigerian scam email (it turned out my gmail account was hacked and accessed in Nigeria), the email was was sent to the Assistant Branch Manager who after receiving authorization from Ruth Powell, followed instructions of the email sender and wired 3 large amounts of funds. We found out about the third wire when it bounced back due to missing one digit. Ruth contacted us to find out about the wire details. I informed the Assistant Branch Manager that these were fraudulent transfers and asked her to block the account so no further transfers could be made and to inform her supervisors and the authorities. She didn't inform anyone as she was busy closing the branch on Saturday at 12:30 pm. Given the large amount we contacted immediately the vice president, Robert Eastham to notify him about the fraudulent wires and to ask him to contact the authorities. His response was "I'm at the NJ shore and I cannot do anything about it till Monday". This was on Saturday at 12:45 pm. We called him back again at 8 30 pm and left a message. We stressed the importance of this to us and also the importance of notifying the proper authorities. On Sunday morning we called Warren Gereit, Executive Vice President and asked him, to please call the authorities as the wire was bounced back and there might have been chances to capture the hackers. He was furious that we dared to contact him on Sunday morning at his house. Regardless of the urgency of the situation no one seemed to respond! On Monday at noon we still have not heard back from anyone. We filled a report with a detective at Hopewell Township Police Department and contacted the FBI. The FBI supplied us with information and asked us to contact www.ic3.org, the NJ Attorney General Office: Division of Criminal Justice and the State Department of Banking. After the filing a report with a detective and contacting the FBI, the bank contacted us. Where they failed: 1. The managers did not follow the usual protocol, they wired a total of XXX,XXX.XX without a signature and bank account numbers. Unprecedented. 2. They responded to poorly written Nigerian email scam. "We in Greece going to China, Is there anyway we could transfer some money to us here in China and I could forward you with banking details here and Also can we get the cash balance in our accounts'. Who would transfer to such an email request? 3. The management knew we were in Italy at the time of the transfers. We were withdrawing in Rome from Italian ATM on a regular basis. 4. Ruth Powell released to the Nigerian hacker ALL of the amounts we had in our accounts. This was a simple email request in a poorly written English. 5. They did not list the wire fees in the checking account. If they would have done it as usual, I would have noticed the unexpected wire fees over the couple of weeks. 6. Ruth Powell contacted us on our disconnected home number when she knew we sold our house. She handled and deposited the proceedings from the house in the new savings account she opened personally. 7. The management failed to update us after the incident. They called after (48 nerve racking hours) after we notified the FBI and threatened them to file charges. 8. The management was not trained properly. The previous month Gmail hacking was all over the news: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/paul-everton/googles-gmail-hacked-this_b_3641842.html. These transactions requests were full of red flags, the management did not catch any. It took us several months to recover the funds back, they fired the Assistant Branch Manager but kept Ruth Powell and Bob Eastham. When we returned we closed our safe deposit, Ruth couldn't even subtract the remaining amount. I had to correct her and she had to use a calculator. She was the branch manager. It destroyed our overseas vacation and it caused an incredible amount of stress for many months.

I've had my auto insurance here since I got my license! My premium is hundreds, even thousands in some cases, LOWER than my friends who have gone with other insurance companies. Ray Sayre's office is way more than just your standard insurance office. They take care in making sure that you have the proper coverage to secure your future in the event of a loss, in every aspect of your life. From business to auto to life and fire insurance (homeowners, renters, condo, etc.), and more, Ray Sayre's State Farm office has you covered. A lot of other companies just care about pumping out lots of policies that under-insure their customers and end up jacking up prices, but State Farm treats your right! State Farm is also a Bank (FDIC Insured, of course!) with a full line of banking products, from checking/savings/other deposit accounts to reward credit cards (that pay back cash or towards your premiums!) to vehicle, mortgage, and other home loans, and more! You can save money when buying a vehicle by insuring and financing it with State Farm. And the same goes for your home! Heck, last time I was in the office, I checked out their vehicle loan rates and they are actually lower than what dealers advertise on TV! I get great discounts at State Farm, simply for having good grades in college, for having taken driver training in high school, staying accident/violation free, for having my household autos and home insured with State Farm, and more! I know this sounds like a sales pitch, but I'm far from a "pitchman"... I just like to brag about having truly Good Neighbors at Ray Sayre's State Farm office and being properly insured at a great rate with a company that cares!
