The name needs to be changed because it's Birria Robles. We have been here twice and will come daily. Get there before they Tun out of food! The birria is amazing and the salsas are perfect. They have a stand outside too if you don't want to sit down in the restaurant. I would like to add that they have a special of a drink and three tacos for I believe $88 pesos. The consomé is especially delicious!

Yummy breakfast berrias tacos. We come every year. I enjoy dipping them into the consumme. The place is all locals and Spanish speaking. Our check came and it said "60 pesos white gringos" on it. I guess we stuck out like a sore thumb.

I tried the other location because this particular location was closed. I wanted to try the best Birria in PV and this place was pretty good. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the traditional goat birria and was pleasantly surprised.

This place is a total treasure find of Puerto Vallarta. Get everything and get lots of it- Don't be intimidated by the lack of English. Tres dorados y todo with a coke. About 3.50 - enough said. One thing to note, they close up pretty early so make it a brunch stop and you won't regret it.

    Look for the sign bro!

This is another great taco joint in PV. Here we tried the goat taco. Very tender and tasty. Lost of mean and serves with some pickled vegetables. Make sure and ask for a cup of the marinade sauce, very, very tasty!!

They have birria. Birria tacos. Omfg. I had these birria tacos yesterday and my friends and I are still dreaming about it. Birria is a stewed meat, typically beef but traditionally goat, cooked in a broth of chili peppers, onions, garlic, bay leaves and the meats own fat for hours on end. Sometimes oregano and other dried spices are added to the broth and allowed to bloom for as long as the broth simmers. Typically hours. Most of the time birria is served with rice and beans and tortillas in a bowl, kind of a pho of sorts, with cilantro and onions added to the broth. Anyway.... So they take this meat and put in on a crisp tortilla. Not just any tortilla, but one that has used the slightly spicy fat rendered from the broth and then pan fried for extra texture. Top this puppy off with cilantro raw onion and a bit of lemon and you have yourself a masterpiece. This Taco, my friends, is effing good. Oh, and the booth is crowded and sells out. People buy this birria a La carte cuz it's believed to help and cure most hangovers. And as added testimony it cured one in my group. Try one of these if you're in the area. Opens early and apparently sells out fast, sometimes before closing at 3pm. My suggestion is: goat birria, cilantro, onion, lemon, medium hot sauce (the sauces are ok the counter in order of spiciness) and dig in. Oh and don't be worried about the plates being covered in a plastic baggy, it's typical of street vendors in the area.

Rich and heavy marinated, slow cooked goat or beef tacos. Sells out by 1pm. Use all the salsa options :) I would definitely return. Awesome street food.

Best street tacos everrr! It got so packed at lunch time, but it was worth the wait. The tacos were so delicious with fresh ingredients. It was one of the greatest traveling memories I had in Puerto Vallarta trying out street food.

Best Birria. It's a hole in the wall kind of place, but the food is delicious. The place is full with locals. I will definitely be back.

You have to pluck a third of the meat with your fingers just to get the tortilla to structurally hold. There is always a line. You eat what you order and leave behind your self respect. The dining room is packed tighter than a turtle's pecker. A dozen staff members move around each other like bees tending the hive, the rhythm wild and relentless. The tacos themselves are intimidatingly large, the vibe unlike anything I have ever seen. It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. Vegans are easy please. Give them clear marked options, even if there is one option, we are pleased. This place had a few clearly marked options plus the staff was fully aware and can provide suggestions. The only downside it is a cash only place. Guacamole and chips - fantastic. The guacamole freshly prepared and chips fresh fried. Amazing. The 3 types of vegan tacos we got were vegan chorizo, mushrooms and cactus (trying for the fist time). The vegan chorizo was the best, slightly spicy but not overly. The poblano peppers were predictable but very good. The onions with it were a good addition. Nicely seasoned and prepared. The cactus was good, we found that it was less seasoned. Just stir fried cactus. The star of all the three types tacos was the fresh blue corn tacos. We could have those everyday. The other superb tasting was the salsas and fresh toppings. 4 types of salsas, white onions and cilantro. The salsa were of varying different levels of heat and even the mildest salsa was the best. The virgin margarita and virgin mojito were great. Margarita being slightly better even though we love mint. Good atmosphere, clean surrounding and great service and vegan food - what more can one ask?

The entire front portion of the restaurant sits directly in the sand, so that's where we chose to have breakfast--under the iconic palapa roof, feet in the sand, overlooking the ocean. From our table you can watch the fishing boats and excursion boats heading out for the day, which gives the whole experience a relaxed, resort-like rhythm without feeling touristy or rushed. Service was excellent from the start--attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They brought out a selection of pastries you can add if you want, like banana bread and cinnamon rolls, which felt like a thoughtful touch rather than an upsell. The coffee was very good, with plenty of options ranging from cappuccinos and café lattes to classic American coffee, all well prepared. For food, I ordered the scrambled eggs with Mexican chorizo, refried beans, and hash browns. It came with a basket of warm corn tortillas and several house salsas, letting you customize each bite. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. We also ordered the shrimp eggs Benedict with spinach, which was beautifully done--rich, balanced, and fresh, with the shrimp cooked just right. One thing that really stands out is the ambiance. Being right on the beach, hearing the waves, feeling the breeze, and being encouraged (without being told) to slow down and take your time makes the meal feel like part of the vacation itself, not just fuel for the day. They also offer freshly squeezed juices, which pair perfectly with breakfast by the ocean. The menu is extensive, almost overwhelming in a good way--there are so many appealing options that it's genuinely hard to decide. That said, what we ordered was absolutely delicious and satisfying, and it left us wanting to come back and try more. Overall, La Palapa delivers on every level: location, atmosphere, food, and service. It's the kind of place where breakfast turns into a memory, not just a meal.
