Came here for lunch, I ordered 2 asada and 2 al pastor tacos. The tacos all tasted the same. The person taking our order was nice, not super friendly, but thats ok. Great place, we have been coming here for years! Food is always on point. Service is nice, could use some improvement. At least the food is great! Also they don't have the salsa bar open anymore. They give you the salsa and radish pre packed. Great seating areas, very open. They have great tripa tacos, one of the best. So good I ate them fast, forgot to get a picture. Highly recommended! This place should have way more stars. I've found it very difficult to find some quality Mexican food out here in Santa Clarita. I've seen this place for a while but given the location (given traffic and one way signs make it hard to get to) I have usually just gone to the valley for my cravings. I live right up the street from here and I'm so happy I've found them! Everytime I go, I order myself the carne asada torta ahogada. I don't know what they do for the red sauce that you pour over the top, but lemme tell ya, that stuff is SPICY! Not an issue for me because I love spicy, but this particular red sauce is like "my head feels like it's gonna pop and my ears are blowing steam" spicy ugh it's SO good tho! Well, prices went up everywhere, and here I am... back at Tacos Los Toritos! While you're paying $8 and change for a chorizo & egg burrito now, their food is still some of my favorite traditional Mexican food places anywhere. The tacos are very tasty, particularly the carne asada tacos, and their salsa Verde is still the best green salsa I have found. They did it again. WOW is all I have to say. IDK how this place doesn't have a line out the door every day at lunch time. Today we had asada tacos (I've been thinking about them ever since trying one last week) and a carnitas torta. This is easily the best torta I've ever had. Aside from the bread being a bit soggy once I got it home, it was pure perfection. The carnitas was tender, packed with flavor and didn't need ANY salsa. I've never had a torta that I didn't eat salsa with every bite. This one, I took one bite with, and one without and I ate the rest without the salsa because the flavors were so good on their own. We ordered the following items: - Fish Tacos (comes in 3) $6 - Whole Fried Tilapia (no combo) $6 - Large side of rice $4 - Side of beans $1 And a drink and total came to be $20! They never get your order right. When you call your order they will leave you on hold for hours when you try calling back it's busy so you can never get through. This is great hole in the wall. They have almost every type of Mexican food and the food is great. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is located in a strip mall located at the busy intersection of Soledad Canyon and Sierra Highway. Parking is limited at times because it is shared with different stores and there are only a few spaces. The service is good. This certain day that I had gone, I had ordered two burritos and two tacos, all of which were of Carne Asada also I had ordered to take home. The burrito itself was a good size not small but not big, I got mines with beans, rice and meat, and added some cheese you can also add onion and cilantro if you like. Look the meat was good, well cook, seasoned and didn't have any fat, the rice was good too, now the beans were ok I felt they was a bit hard but depends in your liking I like mine on the softer side. Tacos were a good size, meat was delicious just like the burrito had of course added some cheese on top. The inside was clean, but didn't have a vibe were you want to stay and eat it was a boring vibe I feel like it needs something to brighten the place up. Customer service was on point, cashier she was nice and helpful got to tase the agua frescas before buying. There aren't many places in the SCV with authentic Mexican food. I feel like I'm back in the valley when I walk through the doors here. It doesn't look like much as you enter; just your typical little hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint. But that's what makes it so great. No interior design or fancy menu options: just tacos, burritos, y ceviche (and a few more). I haven't tried everything here because their burritos are so good. They're big, fat, and greasy (as a burrito should be). After a few drinks or a late night, I always crave one of these burritos. Try the al pastor or asada. Both are very tasty. Also the horchata is amazing but it's always sold out toward the end of the night. Red and green salsas are both great. Don't expect fantastic service. Just come here for great food. The tacos here are alright. They're not the greatest, but they're one of the few places open late night. I always get carne asada tacos or tacos al pastor with green salsa. The salsa is decent, and has a nice kick to it. However, the meat can be dry sometimes. It all depends on what time you visit the restaurant. Usually for me, it's after 10pm and therefore I end up with all the dry meats! Other than dry meat, there's nothing else I can complain about. Let's TACO 'bout, homies. Tacos Los Toritos is legit! There was no trace of Americanized-flavors, everything I tried was on point, but let's back up a bit, 'walk with me'. I rolled in on a Friday a little before 2pm and placed an order to go. Joint wasn't dead as they had a couple of patrons finishing up their meals and a few others waiting for their to go order. The wait wasn't brutal turning our order around, I'd say about 10 mins, give or take. During those 10 minutes-ish, we listened to the mariachi music playing throughout the quaint-sized space. I eyeballed their 'kids' section, which consists of vending machines dispensing stickers and toys for quarters upon quarters. They also had a humble, little condiment bar and chillin' on ice was: *Salsa verde (green/mild) *Salsa rojo (red/spicy!!!!) *Jalepenos/chiles/carrots? *Pickled radishes Venue is clean: a plus, but parking can be problematic: a definite minus. I'd suggest going off-peak hours or if you've 'got it like that', have someone drop you off then circling back when you're ready for pick up. The cashier taking our order was helpful and we decided on the following: *Filete pescado $7.50 *Sope with machaca (shredded beef) y carne asada taco combo $7 *Medium Horchata $1.69 +$1.46 tax ------------------------------------ $17.65 Everything was packaged nicely and on our way home, we made a quick detour to See's Candies - sweet tooth was nagging like crazy that day! Anyway, I unveiled our goodies and sat down to eat... Happy to report that the heat held up well during transport, but more importantly foodie friends, their carne asada taco is on point and while I piggily-enjoyed their sope, it was a bit heavy for me so I will probably try something else that isn't as dense. To be fair, this was my first bout with a sope so that's just probably how they are, insert slap upside my head here if I am completely off! Anyway, coupled with my taco + sope was a side of rice and beans, both equally tasty and good! All this food vs little ol' me and sadly I couldn't hang, I had to set some aside for dinner. But, if I'm being completely honest, I was still full by that time and didn't eat the rest of the day. I was just stuck with a food baby 'til I fell asleep. Problem or not, you be the judge. BTW, I did do a bite and grab of the filete pescado and even that was tasty. I would definitely order that in the future too. From what I could tell, fish is the only seafood served up at TLT. Anyway, if you love horchata, order it here, because that too is a sexy beast in itself. Overall, reasonable prices, great food... definitely guarantees repeat visits from me.
