He asked if I spoke Spanish, and when I said I didn't, he began mocking me in Spanish. After we sat down, his behavior became worse. He laughed with another man and made insulting and vulgar comments about us. He repeatedly told me to "eat shit," which was completely uncalled for and disrespectful. He also stared at us in a sexual and uncomfortable way, checking our bodies the entire time, while continuing to talk badly about me as if I couldn't understand. This experience was humiliating and unacceptable. No one should be treated this way for not speaking a language or for simply being in a restaurant. I haven't been here in years, and the one time I decided to come back, I was met with harassment and hostility. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have supported this restaurant without hesitation, which is why I am extraordinarily disappointed that, today, I was actually charged extra for roughly a tablespoon of shredded cheese beyond the "normal" portion. No, not the melted cheese; the shredded cheddar jack. I don't mind paying extra for things; I get paying extra for fajita vegetables and melted cheese. That has to be prepared and maintained. But paying over a dollar extra for a tablespoon of extra shredded cheddar jack is RIDICULOUS. I'm a tad salty after my visit today. I've NEVER been charged extra for shredded cheese before; that the person serving me explained it to me like it was my first time as a customer was equally inexplicable. All things change, I suppose, but I won't be back.

The place is run by Spanish speaking folks who seem like they're a family. The tortillas for the burritos are made to order, which would've been great if I was having that. I got a salad with grilled chicken, lettuce, black beans, pico de gallo, hot sauce, and cilantro. As hearty as I could go. The grilled chicken is grilled to order on the flat top. The other proteins are in a steam table. The salad was fresh and tasted pretty good. I'm sure the lard refried beans, grated cheese, and creamy dressings would be better. But I was going for healthy af. They don't have receipts, if that matters to you. The people seem like a hard working family who are making their family recipes. It's a pretty good place.

To be honest, whenever I'm feeling down I think of the brightest spot of my week. It's Saturday morning, when I feel that burrito in my hand, and I take a flavorful bite as salsa drips down my face. Local Burrito is synonymous with happiness in my mind. Try it out, you will not be sorry. Also, here's a pro-tip. You order and pay on the left, then get in line on the right where you tell the peeps what burrito you got. There, you can say if you want salsa/hot sauce, or none. The salsa is SO KILLER though, you have to get it.

This seems like a town that would really gravitate to a strong food truck culture. Used to live close to Durham, NC, where food truck rodeos were commonplace; there seems to be enough locavores here for a critical mass for food trucks here. Having heard about the recent menu changes and seeing them at the forefront of the pro-food truck movement here, my hopes were high. I tried the breakfast burrito, which has eggs, potatoes, and various locally sourced greens. I opted to add cheese curds for $1 extra, an exciting local option. I was somewhat disappointed with the burrito, because it was heavy on potatoes and light on eggs, greens, and curds. If the ingredient mix were balanced, this could have had much more flavor than it did. The other menu additions, such as Korean fusion and thai peanut tempeh, sound intriguing so I'll update my review once I try those.
