FINALLY, an authentic and GREAT TASTING Mexican restaurant in this area…read more We've tried multiple Mexican restaurants in the Scranton -Wilkes-Barre area over the last few years with subpar outcomes at best. This place may not look like much from the outside, but it's easy to find, has a parking lot, and great prices. We've tried the quesadillas, tostadas, Elotes, and tacos - ALL amazing. The green sauce and the avocado sauce is a must try. Not too spicy and very tasty- definitely approved by Angs' non spicy handling palate. Literally, nothing missed. I don't even know what else to say. The staff is pretty cool too. Very good indoor dining experience - quick and attentive. No issues experienced there. The only downside is the wait time for pick-ups. Depending on the size of your order, you'll likely be waiting 20+ minutes for your order to be ready. Not bad really as long as you're not in a rush. Again, this is probably the best Mexican restaurant in the area. A definite must try. We'll be updating this with more pictures for sure.

Not drying them says, hey, get your food and go, we don't care. It's no fun trying to add slaw from a ziplock bag, in the car. Someone said cash only, I paid in cash. I didn't see a sign, you may want to add that. The pupusas were good, kind of bland, once I added the included slaw for crunch and hot sauce for flavor, it really came together. Too bad I had to do this on my lap. Lastly, the tamarind juice was chunky. I wasn't expecting that and didn't care for it. Just personal preference. I'd love to see a weekly special flavor!

Skipped breakfast so I was halfway looking for a brunchy option when I stumbled into El Tikal…read more With a quality lunch special section, plus your everyday Mexican favorites and a great variety of meat, seafood and veggie dishes, I had a hard time deciding. I'm usually a combo order kind of guy, but I had to throw together my own little lunch variety pack, add Santa Fe (breakfast) burrito. Plantains always hit for me, but these were extra caramelized and gooey so I had to portion them out between the beginning and end of the meal. The mole sauce on the chili relleno was smokey and not as spicy, but really well-balanced. The tamale with red sauce seemed less flavorful than the other dishes, but I'm no tamale expert and I've been hanging out with a lot of Italians recently. The Santa Fe burrito was out of this world: the eggs, nice and crumbly with tons of seasoning and flavor, the cheese-covered chorizo oozing into each bite. I need this again, and I'm sure there's so many other incredible things on the menu to explore, but this is truly a hearty and unique item worth coming back for.

They definitely lose out on money from drinks bc a lot of the time we end up getting one drink each, but the server never comes back or asks if we want anything else so we just have the one with our meal and leave to go elsewhere. It also affects their tips bc the more people order the higher the tip... So... ??? Unless it's just laziness and they don't care about the $ bc they all do like to hang out talking instead of checking on tables. The other night we were told the bar closed a little after 9, but they're opened til 10 and there were still other tables there and some had just arrived. So why close it way before closing time?
