I come here a lot and dine in. It gets super busy during the weekday lunchtime for eating in. The tables are usually clean, staff is generally nice. They have never got my order wrong, food is pretty consistent. Sometimes you have to wait much longer for your order than you would have in the drive through. I don't normally write reviews of chain restaurants, let alone fast food, but had to do it for this Taco Bell to mark the momentous occasion! After all 30 years of my life, I finally tried Taco Bell for the very first time! The reason it had taken me so long was because I had made a silly little pact with a childhood friend back when we were little babies that we were going to wait until we were 50 years old to eat Taco Bell! Why 50? Because that was the speed limit on Rochester Road where this exact Taco Bell was located, the closest Taco Bell to the both of us haha! Well, I made it 30 years, this childhood friend and I have long since lost contact, and I just finally decided to try it with all the biggest Taco Bell fans in my life recently and had to go back to where it all began! So thank you to this Taco Bell for literally being here all my life! We naturally went inside to eat and the space is super cute and modern. Taco Bell's branding is very cute! You order on tablets right by the ordering counter and then seat yourself. I got the Mexican Pizza, a Chalupa, and a Baja Blast Freeze of course!! The food is probably what I always expected Taco Bell to be, with that Baja Blast being literally the tastiest thing ever! I have lived near this Taco Bell for two decades or for as long as this Taco Bell has existed here, whichever came first. In the last couple years when I go through the drive through, they have never once gotten my order right. No matter how big or small, this particular Taco Bell will be sure to mess it up. I think maybe they know they're not getting orders correct, so they've never tried to argue. I get it. Taco Bell is fast food, so quality is expected to take a hit. But I feel like even for fast food standards, I was let down. The volcano tacos that were ordered didn't have the red shell. It was just a regular taco with some lightly added volcano sauce (I live 6 minutes away, and the tacos literally came apart as you took a bite). My wife had a crunchwrap Supreme, and it didn't have ANY groundbeef. For my daughter, we got a chicken power bowl, and my daughter didn't want it at all. She took a bite of the chicken and cried, so we tossed it out. This order was around 7:30 PM, so I didn't get the reason why the quality was so bad. It's not like this was a 1 AM order. waited over AN HOUR in the drive through from 12:20-1:20 am on 06/28/25. there were about 8 cars ahead of me total, I think I could have made all the items by myself, quicker than HALF THE TIME. you need more staff, or to close the drive through. I have been going to this TBell since the 90's. Heck I even remember when it got voted the busiest taco bell in the nation. It was always so hot and fresh. Unfortunately it has changed for the worse. They have given me the wrong order several times now. The staff is usually throwing food at each other while I wait, smh. I used to come to this location every Sunday. We would stop by after Church and hang out with all of our friends we met. They come almost every day. I used to also see my best friend's mom that works here. She would come on her break and sit with us. Some days we would stay for over an hour talking and having a great time. I really missed them and stopped by today. I only saw one of them. She said they come Tuesdays occasionally. Ofcourse I missed them! On first glance the grilled cheese burrito looks a tad disappointing; Much more flaccid and drab compared to advertisements But that's expected with any fast food item It comes wrapped in parchment paper which is a great feature for people like me who don't favor greasy hands On first bite it is less crunchy than hoped for but there is an intriguing smokiness to each bite, likely culprit being the chipotle sauce, which I appreciate here. Being aware of this burrito's contents I eagerly take more bites to get the full experience The red strips are soggier than hoped for The addition of Fire sauce does the trick per usual to help liven up the item Unfortunately I was anticipating a more harmonious blend of varying discrete textures which was regrettfully lost here as it was mostly one texture - soft. Overall , the flavors of this burrito shined where as the texture lacked. I love Taco Bell as much as the next guy, unfortunately, the next guy is always here. This is the only Taco Bell within a 15 mile radius and it shows. This place is always, always busy. Avoid the drive-thru at all costs. In the time it takes me to go through it I could drive to my favorite Taco Bell at 14 and Crooks and be back in time to eat it in line. The people tend to be quite slow who run the drive though. The big plus about this location is that it is open very VERY late. 4am on weekends. The inside is open till midnight, so always skip the drive though and go in if you can. Plus, they have those cool talking trash bins. The future is now! After a long night in downtown Rochester, this is a great (and cheap) place to stop before heading home. read more
