I placed order number over an hour ago ahead of arriving at the taco bell in ODESSA TEXAS on the mobile app. When I got there it took them over 50 minutes to clear out the drive thu lane. Pull up to take out space in front of store at 5 till 10 to pick up call in delivery. Called the store to let them know I was here and who appeared to be the manager answered and said we had to go through drive through. The curbside pickup sign said 10 PM. I said it wasn't 10 yet and he hung up the phone. The drive was extremely busy but we got in line regardless. Upon getting to the window the same gentleman who answered the phone earlier with wonderful manners said I had to go back around and stop at the speaker to inform them I was here to pick up an order. Though I was unaware of this policy and agreed in that in the future I would do so he still was adamant that I pull back around. The 10 minutes my food sat there prior to my arrival, plus 9 cars or 20 minutes settling in the driveway waiting my turn, plus the additional 7 vehicles or 15 more minutes I would have had to wait if I had chosen to go back around would have made my crunchy taco a wet noodle at best so my family and I abandoned our $38 order and drove to Taco Villa and had a great experience. My family and I really enjoy Taco Bell and even though this particular store was out of our way they always got our orders right and gave great service. That was until tonight. I understand they were busy and some cannot deal with the continuing stress of high volume food service so before this employee looses his cool for real and snaps, the real manager may need to take note and amend his schedule to early morning prep where customers are not a problem. I waited in line for almost 2 1/2 hours just to get my order . Then when I got to the order menu they said there closed and when I explained I have been waiting in line with a online order . We stopped here on route to DFW for a "quick " lunch at 2:30 PM on a Friday. First of all the GPS directed us via the snails route. ( getting back to I-20 was much faster but it seems like GPS will never direct you to backtrack) The restaurant did not seem that overly busy but it took an extra long time to get our food as compared to the other million Taco Bell's I have visited. My husband and I each ordered a Cheesy Bean & Rice Burrito plus a 7 Layer Burrito. Although it has been several years since having a 7 Layer Burrito, I do not remember them being served cold. Perhaps they started doing this, I wasn't going to ask. The Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito was mostly like others I have tasted but these were a bit messy. Since most of the tables were dirty, another customer asked if one could be cleaned off and the employee said they had just been way too busy and she didn't have time and can you please sit somewhere else? I stopped in early on a Saturday evening and there was a line, but not terribly long. I think I was the 3rd person in line. I placed a a to-go order for cinnamon twists, an entree. and a drink. I waited 33, yes, THIRTY-THREE, minutes for my food. They were serving 124 when I arrived and I was 139. It took them 33 minutes to fill 15 orders. I watched the staff preparing the food- no hurry, no rush, just plodding along. When I complained about the unacceptably long wait, I was basically told too bad, we're busy. No, they really weren't that busy, they just had lazy kitchen staff and didn't care. The nice young man at the front counter was apologetic, but he was the only one. I realize Odessa is the home of crappy customer service, since there are so many jobs available, but that kitchen staff needs to go. I will never set foot in that Taco Bell again read more
