    $2.39 cup of water
    Bob V.

Well the food was good but the portions are tiny (taco was 1/2 thick, my finger actually hid the ingredients) and I was charged $2.39 for a glass of water. At over $10.00 for water and 3 tacos I can't afford to return. I felt snookered when I should have felt full.

The food and service was horrible. The food was barely wrapped. The employee has a horrible attitude. Just all and all bad.

I had the blackened chicken sandwich paired with parmesan and garlic potato wedges, both bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. My wife chose the fish tacos, which were also flavorful, though the tilapia had a slightly fishy taste that wasn't to our liking. We ended our meal with the panna cotta dessert, which looked fancy and tasted delightful. Kudos to the friendly and helpful staff, especially CJ, our server, who gave excellent recommendations and provided personable, attentive service. We definitely plan to return to try more menu items and highly recommend stopping in for a visit.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty open bright and nice. After some chat and hearing that the fish fry is popular, I thought ok, I'll give it a try. I haven't had a fish fry in years. I had the three piece cod, battered and fried, with side choice of fries. It also came with a roll and coleslaw. You can also get Walleye, or all-you-can-eat for a few more bucks. Coleslaw is not my favorite thing but I thought I'd try it. It was kind of tart and vinegary. Still not a fan so I left that alone. The fish was the star of the show of course and was pretty great, I have to say. Cooked so the fish was tender and flaky inside a crispy crust. The fries were fries, and I took most of those and the role home. The pretzel roll would be for a little sandwich later. All in all for the price a surprisingly decent meal. I have been kinda disappointed in restaurants lately but this was just as you'd wish; tasty, a decent price and the servers were great.

Wow! Marengo has an amazing hidden gem in Cafe 20! You can't really say that it is "off the beaten…read morepath," because it is right on Highway 20 in Marengo. Our Thursday meal was the AYCE broasted chicken! Chloe was our server and she was exceptional! The food was equally excellent! They start you off with soup or salad. We had the soup, me with the loaded potato soup and my wife with the chicken noodle! We shared with one another and all I can say is OMG!!! Maybe the best soups in McHenry County! Then for the main course: 4 chicken pieces (breast, wing, drumstick and thigh) that were cooked to perfection, slaw (just the way I like it-- slightly creamy without out too much mayo flavor, which I dislike), and a side. We had green beans and a baked potato. The potato was baked perfectly and the green beans were generously heaped on the plate. Again, they were substantial enough that we shared them and both enjoyed both sides! Once you're ready, you can order more chicken and specify the pieces that you want. We shared one more chicken breast because the meal was amazing and filling! Prices were super reasonable!!!!!! We'll be back again for the Thursday special but also want to try the other daily specials and the wood fired pizza! It looked wonderful! My only complaint is that Cafe 20 is not on the eastern half of the county where we live! Oh well!! It is surprisingly easy to get to Marengo! Congratulations, Cafe 20! You're 5-stars with me!!!

However, they have quite a bit of bar seating. The place is unassuming from the outside, a block from the square without much around it, but quite welcoming when you enter. We were immediately welcomed and seated, and had good service throughout our meal. We got the guacamole to start, and it may be the best guacamole I've ever had - certainly near the top -- fresh and bright. Then I got the enchiladas with mole sauce. The mole was intense and rich, with incredible depth of flavor. There was rice and beans, too, which were good, but I didn't really pay attention to them - the mole was the star. My friend got the Chiles Rellenos and said that they were excellent, and was also thrilled that they had Coke in bottles (the unsweetened iced tea was good for me).

Antigua is a unique Mexican restaurant near the Square. I've been to their location off of Randall…read moreroad in Crystal lake, too. Ok, let's start with the "good!" Their food is quite tasty. I've tried their tacos and most recently their steak salad. OMG, the steak salad is awesome. It has a mixture of lettuce and leaves, avocado, crumbled feta cheese, steak. We order it with the Ranch dressing. Next time I'm there I'll definitely snap a few photos. This salad is something I look forward to!! It is amazing and I love it!! Before your meal, you will get the chips and salsa. Their food is awesome and they have a lot to choose from. The not so positive...... on occasions, the service has been slow. Granted, they can get busy and perhaps they're under staffed from time to time, or maybe they get busy at random times and there's not enough servers to handle the crowds? I'm not sure, but the service can be very slow sometimes. I've been here maybe 8 times and outside of slow service, their food makes the wait, worth it!! The decor of the restaurant is lively and colorful, it's a small restaurant, so seating is limited, although they do have an outside patio on the side of the building. The waitstaff are friendly and try to be accommodating. Give it a try.
