Nothing to ride home about as far as looks but those birra tacos are about as good as they can get. Took a little while to come out of the kitchen but they were crispy full of meat and the dipping sauce was incredible too. They were so good we got in order to go to bring home since we're not often in Homestead. The pricing was a little high for such a dive at $17.95 for three tacos . Service was really good and it seemed to be a popular place down here. I would definitely stop back in and try a few other things but it is fairly pricey for a Mexican restaurant in a gas station.

To start they took at least 10-15 min to actually acknowledge us and let us know that they are really busy... we understand it's cinco de mayo but at least acknowledge us and tell us, don't leave us hanging!! When it came time to finally order our food they gave us the unfortunate news that they were out of carnitas tacos (which was the special and the reason we even went) so we ordered Al pastor tacos and carne asada fries. Now, the food.... Absolutely delicious and phenomenal as always! Definitely authentic and explosive flavors with each bite! But before we can even eat we realized they forgot to bring us the cilantro/onion side toppings so we had to remind them and wait another 5-10 min while our food was just getting cold to get the servers attention. The carne asada fries was something we tried for the first time today and I can't recommend it enough. Please order this when you come they were so goooood!! We also ordered the classic margaritas which were on the happy hour menu.... However the margaritas had 0 alcohol and was just straight up lime juice! Pretty disappointed in the drinks.... Last time we came we had a much better experience, I guess we can't come when they have busy days! Maybe we'll give it another chance maybe not, there's plenty of fantastic Mexican spots here in homestead and tonight was not a good look for Tacazo.

I'm not going to lie the food has always been good, which is why we kept coming back despite the drive. The waitresses know us by now. It's always me, my mom, and my husband, and if one of the three of us is missing they actually ask where the other person is. That's how regular we are. Because it's a long drive for us, we usually bring a small lunch box with water bottles and Coke Zero for the trip. Today, under the guise of offering us ice for our lunch box, our waitress opened our lunch box, looked through it, and then shook her head at someone else like she was signaling "no, not here." We were honestly stunned. We paid and as we were leaving I told her, "If you wanted to check my lunch box for alcohol, you could have just asked." She immediately started saying "No, no, I was just curious because I want to start driving around with one too," and I told her flat out, "No you weren't." If I wanted to get drunk, I certainly wouldn't pick this place to do it. I have honestly never felt so disrespected. TSA doesn't even go through my bags like that. The rose-colored glasses are officially off. Again, the food is good, but I'm also not blind to the fact that this is a hot trailer on the side of Krome where you're constantly fighting flies around your food while you eat. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants where I can order a Coke Zero in air conditioning, or I can find another food truck, they're a dime a dozen.
