I'm so glad there is finally a new restaurant in the corner restaurant that has been empty for so…read moremany years!! For Taco Tuesday, it's $1 off tacos, so many of the tacos are only $2 each!! Can't pass up that kind of deal! You order at the bar at the east end of the restaurant space. There are some menus scattered about and on TVs around the bar area. Once you get a number, you go find a table, and you pick up your order at the garage door window close to the bar. It's a little hard to hear the numbers being called sometimes on the far side of the restaurant! The tacos are DELICIOUS for that price. My favorites are the quesabirria and lomo tacos! The meat is flavorful and tender! Highly recommend ordering some salsas for the side. I was very impressed with my meal! Affordable and flavorful! I hope they get a lot of business - it's been pretty empty the few times I have stopped by but don't let that deter you! And they're open late! The east end of Westport Road is pretty empty these days in the evenings when the vintage shops are closed, so I have never had a hard time finding street parking!

HH is pretty good with some specials on margaritas and beers as well as a few apps. You order from the bar and pick up your food at the counter when your number is called. I think the majority of my crew enjoyed their food but I'm still only giving it a 4 because I've been to plenty of places with better Mexican food but it was definitely serviceable. I was a little disappointed with my Birria Tacos as I felt like they were a bit on the flavorless side. I would eat here again as I did enjoy it, I just might try something else off the menu.

I just took a swing at it, picked up a menu, and stood there. It took a while for somebody to acknowledge that I was there. The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. They have this cool thing that you can try new and upcoming dishes, and then they also have brunch, so I'm thinking about giving them a second shot. If you've never been, you should come and see what your opinion is, but really cool aesthetics and great views.

A Hidden Gem in Westport!…read more I recently visited Brix in Westport, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! This vibrant Latin restaurant has a cozy, intimate vibe that makes it perfect for date night or a fun evening out with friends. We started with their handcrafted cocktails -- beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp and potatoes and some fresh guacamole. Both were delicious, but the shrimp dish really stood out! For the main course, we had the Burrito Ahogado and the Latin pasta -- the pasta, in particular, was packed with bold, rich flavors and definitely a standout dish. Dessert was a fun surprise: they have the cutest little churro cart serving mini churros that were warm, crispy, and just the right amount of sweet. After dinner, we discovered their hidden speakeasy -- such a unique touch! The cocktails there were stunningly presented and added a fun, upscale vibe to the night. Overall, Brix is a must-visit in Kansas City. I'm already planning to go back and check out their brunch menu! Great food, amazing service, and a fun vibe. But when you want actual good tacos, this is a place you gotta come. They have a great bar here on Troost. The crew here is fantastic and always kind and helpful. I haven't been to any of the other locations, but I don't really care to. This location is fantastic and it's the closest one to Lee's Summit where I live. Perhaps one day the owners would consider putting one in the third largest city in Missouri. I would like that. :D Oh, and if you like hot stuff, make sure you ask for the hottest sauce. It's orange, but not mango. Habaneros all the way. I'm sitting here regretting my life choices. It's so hot!!! The flavor is amazing though. So I always get one or two of those. The hot sauce is also excellent. I did not care for the mild or the medium. The flavor of those wasn't that great to my palate. I like that they're open until 10. Sometimes I have to work late. I never get them to go because I enjoy the atmosphere here indoors and out. They have great patio dining. Tiki Taco. Thank you. This place rules.
