It's always a great time when I visit the tack room. I'm a male English rider and not many places are accepting of us in the equestrian world. But Eva and her coworkers make my visits well worth it. They stock some men's ariat English riding apparel as well as they can get anything in a timely manner. The girls here are very helpful and knowledgeable. Made a mistake stopping in to get a new pair of boots. As soon as we walked in the customer service was terrible by the older lady. Just plain rude. The younger lady was nice as can be though. I feel bad that she has to work for the older lady. Needless to say they lost my service as soon I walked in. read more

BUYER BEWARE. this is not a place you want to shop online. I ordered a $90 foggy Mountain dog coat in a size 18. I tried it on my dog who had just been groomed and discovered it was too large for my spoodle so I called and asked if I could return it and have them send me a size 16. they said no problem. I proceeded to package it in its brand new condition. I called them when I sent it back via USPS on 12/7/22 to let them know it would be coming in a few days. According to the tracking it arrived at their shop on 12/9/22. A month later I contacted them because I had still not received the size 16. I was told that it never arrived at their store. They looked all over could not find it. I called again after Tracking the package again that it had indeed arrived at their store on 12/9. At this point Eva the owner told me that yes she had found it and would not accept the return because it was dirty. somehow in the time from when it arrived and was missing in their store and the time I called it had gotten dirty and this woman in the most nasty berating blaming way possible told me that I had returned the coat dirty. that was a total lie!! she said she would attempt to clean the coast and send me the 16. When I called her another week or two later she told me she was sending back the 17 dirty. she was nasty rageful and attacking To date I have not received the coat nor the refund that I requested on my credit card. My only recourse was to contact my credit company to investigate this despicable experience. In my many years of buying online - horse blankets, sheets, coolers etc. I have only experienced the best of customer service from SmartPak and Dover, etc. I have never experienced this kind of brutal and dishonest treatment. read more

Worst, worst, Customer Service I have ever had with an online store! I ordered three horse blankets for three little girls in three different colors. They were offering a free 3-day shipping promo that I qualified for and I was excited as they would get here in time for Christmas. Two days after my order they call me to tell me that two of the blankets I ordered were not in stock and would I like to choose different colors. I said no as the little girls are very specific about the colors they wear. I asked that they send me the one they had in stock, and that because it was their error, I would like them to honor the 3-day shipping. Absolutely NOT! Seriously? It went way downhill from there. First they told me I was being unreasonable because I wouldn't just choose different colors; then they told me that if the blanket were more expensive they might have considered honoring the free shipping; and then the owner/manager actually berated me for waiting until the 15th of December to place a Christmas order. So insulting me on top of really bad customer service. I will never order from there again and I am happy to share this experience so others will know what to expect when shopping there. read more

Since we lesson in light to moderate rain whenever it happens, I have been looking for a rain coat for riding. I found the Goode Rider Storm Jacket, but unfortunately depending on where you buy it from it can be $150+. I found last year's color at The Tack Room, and decided to order it since it was nearly 50% off. I ordered it late on a Thursday night, it was shipped Friday, and I had it the following Tuesday! Super fast service, good communication emailing me about the order being confirmed and shipped, and an excellently priced product - with free shipping because my order was over $100. They have a very large selection, too. I will definitely will order from them again. read more

I ordered 2 pairs of galloping boots from here about 9 months ago. They told me it would be back ordered but should arrive in about 3-4 weeks. 9 MONTHS! Many phone calls to them, guess what? NO REPLY! Never ordering from this place again!!! I want my boots or my money back! I would give it less than one star if I could. read more

As you can see from the owner's response below, she still refuses to admit that she made a mistake (or her "computer" made a mistake...) And she still blames me for "forgetting where I purchased the boots." Regardless of her response, there is no excuse for yelling at me for five minutes before I finally just hung up on her. I was nothing but polite and understanding in that I was happy to return the wrong sized boots. No excuse for this terrible service! At the end of the day, I had to go through PayPal dispute resolution process to get my money refunded. I had to pay return shipping, even though their website advertises free shipping both ways for "sized items." If for some reason you DO have to purchase through her, use PayPal or a credit card so that you can fight to get your money back when she screws up the order! STAY AWAY FROM TACK ROOM INC! There are WAY too many other companies out there that will provide better service for the same product. read more

CANADIANS BEWARE! The service was quick and easy but HOLY RIPOFF, BATMAN! The brokerage and duties completely negated any cost savings. Not the fault of Tack Room Inc. but there's no point in ordering from the US, no matter how good the savings appear to be. Am sad. I placed an order for a Christmas gift on Dec 23, and expected it to arrive Dec 30th. When I opened my package on Dec 30th it was someone else's item. So after the holiday weekend I reached out to them and said that I received the wrong item, could they send me a return label and ship me the correct item. I then received a phone call from the shipping guy, who said he would send me a label with the other customers address, and do the same for the other customer; so we could just trade items. I reluctantly agreed although I think it was extremely unethical to give out other people's personal information. I sent the package out and it was delivered to the other customer the next day. Four days later and I have not received my item back. I called the company and the shipping guy told me there was nothing he could do but ship me another item. Since I had waited two additional weeks for my item, and I needed it by Wednesday, I asked them to overnight it to me. In response the shipping guy told me "Absolutely not, I am not paying overnight shipping on one item." I just asked that it be shipped as soon as possible. I then called back to report how poorly I was treated by the shipping guy, when I was told that they actually didn't even have the item in stock to ship, so I asked for a refund. I was appalled by not only their unethical handling of my personal information and someone else's, but also the rude treatment I received from the shipping guy who refused to correct the mistake that was made. In the end I got my money back, but I will not be bringing my business back to this company. read more

So I bought a rug online that appeared to be green. When it arrived, it was white. I spent $450 on this rug. I returned it UPS paying $150 for shipping. When I advised Eva at the Tack Room that the color was wrong, it was misleading, and they should reimburse my shipping, she told me no. Very poor business practice. We're big supporters of the equestrian industry and that's why it's so disappointing to see a company fall so far short. These folks actually had the gall to agree to accept a return, held it for over a month before then refusing to accept it and then told us we had to pay for shipping to get it back. The explanation: 'We're not Wal-mart." I guess not. Wal-mart's classier. Will never buy anything from these folks again which, looking at the other reviews, puts me in good company. read more

Six weeks after I posted this review, I received an apologetic message from Eva, the owner of Tack Room Inc., that my paperwork must have been misfiled and she would be happy to take care of the refund for me. And this time, she actually followed through and provided a refund to me, albeit a year and a half later. Technically, I now cannot call them "crooks." But I will say, if the Tack Room followed proper internet retail practices of not charging customers until items ship in the first place, they would eliminate many of their customer service problems and negative reviews. I should not have had to email and call a business a total of eight times and resort to writing a negative review on Yelp to get a refund for an item charged, but never sent. read more

Here's an update on my first review. THERE WERE GREAT! Whoever answered the phone was very nice, she may have been out the day I called and got the "not so friendly" person. either way, I got great service. My replacement item came in just as promised.
