I've used this processor three times. The first experience was excellent, fair price, bones returned for broth, and great jerky. The second visit was much pricier, but I did add extras (jerky and specialty jalapeño/bacon burgers), so I assumed the upgrades explained it. This most recent time I kept it simple: standard cuts with pork added to my burger. I was quoted $220 by phone (I still have the voicemail), but the total at pickup was $228. It's not the eight dollars, it's the principle. Please honor the quote or explain any changes before pickup. For comparison, my first deer (a large doe) was under $180 last year. I understand costs go up, but that's a big jump for basic processing. What they do well: speed. Turnaround has been consistently quick. Where they could improve: clear, written estimates, a quick heads-up if the price changes, and less defaulting to ground meat unless requested. Bottom line: Reliable and fast, but inconsistent pricing and limited communication keep this at two stars for me. Dont take your deer there, is about all I can say. Just now read these reviews and agree whole heartily. Took a very large 2-3 year old doe in. Processing was fast. I'd asked for ALL burger with pork. Only got back a small box weighing 28 lbs. Had to pay extra for the pork to be added. SHOULD have gotten significantly more than 20-24 pounds of meat from that doe He must be skimming what he wants from each and every order...and overcharging for any add on's. Two years in a row we did not receive what we ordered. First year ordered jalapeno cheese Hunter sticks and received original. Have them a try again this year and ordered half jalapeno and cheese and half bbq and received only jalapeño and cheese. He was very unapologetic and rude. I will not go back and not recommend. Been dealing with tabs for the last couple years my friends been dealing with him forever we took a deer in last sat to get processed 175 with fat added would of maid 185 he said it four times because my buddy asked him. Tuesday rolls around he gets a text he can pick his deer up for 215 dollars. One of the employees called tabs when we got there and my buddy asked why all the sudden it was 215 for 39 pounds of burger when he said a week ago 175 he wouldn't come down on the price and was getting a attitude so my friend told him you can keep the deer give me 20 bucks for my tag. He proceeded to tell him this was the last deer he would ever do for him. The kid behind the counter when we told him we're not paying 215 when we were quoted something else chuckled and said that's fine will sell it. Super disappointed been dealing with him for the last three years and my buddy for over 10 so in honor of him we will never bring him another deer even with him saying it was the last he'd ever do. If you want a small chance at your price changing when you get there take it here if you shoot a buck make sure you cut the head off it or I'm sure you won't get those back either read more

With regards to their deer processing, the store is very clean, their packaging is great BUT I took a very large doe in for processing as I did not have time to do it myself and the meat I got back in return was very disappointing. One very, very small box of meat. We processed our own deer of the same size comparison earlier in the season and got several more pounds of burger and steaks. All I can assume is they must have a LOT of waste when processing. As I said, their packaging is great but I really would not recommend them for the price and return you get. read more

I normally travel quite far for deer processing, but for the first time, I recently took a good sized 8 pt here to be processed, it was a clean double lung shot and kill. clean drag and clean transport. I was told one of my backstraps was damaged and I didn't receive one whole side. This seemed absurd as I know I didn't damage it. I also didn't get as much meat in return that I was expecting, I shot a smaller 4 pt last year and had much more meat, so this is where I'm confused. The price for processing also seemed quite high, but that could be from inflation these days. i wouldn't recommend and I will not be returning to this facility. read more

I'm done with Tabs ! I took a nice, 150lb 8 point up there for processing. I was charged $145. I asked for very little burger, when I picked it up I got one box with 30lbs of meat, of that, almost half of it was burger. I mentioned that I should have closer to 60 lbs of meat from that deer, and Tab just responded, it is what it is ! My buddies and I have taken many deer up there a d always request little burger and always get way too much burger, and when we complain it falls on deaf ears ! Very satisfied with how they process the deer my husband gets. We are particularly fond of the deer hotdogs they make. My only suggestion for improvement would be that they offer sausage links or patties that do not have added sugar/sweetener. read more

I found this place by accident and wow am I glad! I couldn't get over the quality of the venison processing. Their sausages, hot dogs, and jerky is just incredible! If you are a hunter, and you are butchering at home...you should consider using Tabs because you'll get amazing products back that you probably don't have all the equipment to make yourself. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the shop. I could have eaten off the floor it was so spotless. Months later, I am still enjoying every bite of my jalapeño cheese hot dogs! Thanks Tabs! I apologize for not writing sooner to warn others... This very nice customer oriented butcher with very clean setting is basically a crook. Please be warned to not believe anything you are told. I spent two years carefully raising my wonderful steer on organic pasture. Tab assured me the cow would hang for at least 10 days. There is no butcher who does not understand this concept. He confirmed many time to me that my meat will hang per my request. Well, he called me 2 days after I dropped my steer off, telling me my entire cow with all cuts are ready for pick up! My heart just sank deep in my chest as the past few years of care I took with this animal just went to naught. He was very arrogant and told me he needed the space in his freezer so I needed to pick up my meat within the next two days. His response to my unbelief at him not hanging my cow for any days at all was, "that cow was so nice it didn't need to hang!" ! How arrogant! To this day I am so disappointed every time I cook a roast or steak since most of it goes to the dogs as I can't chew it!! Please be warned. Do not be fooled by the nice demeanor and up-front customer focus. Anyone who would do this would be capable is basically a crook. He sure knows how to lie very well, with a smile!!!
