Not to be confused with Flabby Town, which is... well, every city in the US these days. So Tabby Town is pretty adorable and has tons of perfect little cats for you to invite home. Anything which gets kittens that need a home out to the public has got to be a good thing in my book. And they do it well. Prices are modest and the cats are nothing short of adorable. Come in and pick up a cat from here for sure but make sure to also get one from the Ten Lives Club which one of the organizations which places these cats in various malls, as the Ten Lives Club needs all the support they can get and when you get a cat through TLC, it's not only cheaper, but 100% of your money goes to the Ten Lives Club. Nevertheless, this is absolutely a 5 star place and their cats are heartbreakingly wonderful.

Our sweet Bella from Tabby Town

We adopted one cat from Tabby Town about 7 years ago, and she is part of our family now. The friendly volunteers/staff introduced us to a beautiful, petite tabby cat named Georgianna. We have since changed her name to Bella. They brought Bella out from the back of the store, where they keep the shyer cats. She immediately warmed up to us. They have a little visiting room where you can get to know the feline before your purchase. She came with a folder that included her shot record, where she was from and birthdate. I would definitely recommend adopting from Tabby Town. It is also a store with various cat items, and they accept donations of various kinds; (money, cat food, blankets..)

I recently went into Tabby Town because I've been looking for a cat companion. I had some pretty specific requirements because I already own a dog and needed a cat who'd get along with her. I also needed a cuddly, people oriented cat because I am disabled and spend a lot of time in bed. Basically, I needed an emotional support animal. Tabby Town turned out to have exactly what I needed! When the volunteers there discerned my mom and I were serious about picking up a cat that day, they immediately took us into the visiting room and started bringing us cats they thought would be good fits. The first two were from out on the main floor and weren't particularly friendly, but the third they brought into the room was from the office section and a big sweetheart. Since they had spent some time with her, they knew I was going to be getting a special cat. They also were helpful in answering our specific questions, as we've only ever owned dogs before. I ended up fostering to adopt the third cat, an orange tabby who had been a stray in Rochester. This location gets overflow from other shelters and I find it admirable that they take animals from kill shelters and get them adopted. I'm very glad they have the foster to adopt program here, as I wasn't sure how the cat (who I named Winnie) would get along with my dog. They recommended it over the phone to my mom before we arrived and it worked out well. I'm currently in the process of adopting her. She's a great fit for our family and me especially so I'm grateful to Tabby Town for bringing her out to us.

Tabby Town Cat Adoption is a fantastic addition the the McKinley mall for many reasons. The idea of putting an adoption centre somewhere with constant foot traffic (well, at least some foot traffic) gives these beautiful little kitties some constant exposure and unlimited chances to find a new home. This place kind of looks like a mall pet store from the outside but when you enter you start seeing a mixture of fixtures for the cats to eat, sleep, and of course play in (even though they are all usually just sleeping). Upon walking around over the weekend I saw a few cute little pals that seemed pretty content to somewhere nice and warm for the winter and the staff that was working all seemed very friendly and actually cared for the animals that they were watching. I think this is a fantastic place to adopt a furry little friend and if you live in the area you should definitely come by and check this place out!

We had been pet'less for many years. Then, a little over three years ago, my husband came home with a cat from Tabby Town. After I got over my initial "What the frig were you thinking??!!???!!" shock, I soon realized that he had brought me my absolute very favorite gift he's ever given me. Okay, yeah, sure, my husband gave me our children too, and yeah, they're pretty great, okay, fine. But my furry fat boy is my heart and soul!!! :-D And, about a year after Tigger came home, we completed our brood with one last furry family member, our sweet, sweet Posy girl, who also came from Tabby Town. It is a wonderful cat shelter facility that takes great care of its feline residents until each cat finds its furever home. There is always a variety of adult cats available, and oftentimes kittens too. Adoption fees include the initial vet visit, and they sell some supplies too, if you want to pick up a litter box, toys, a collar, etc. for your new furry family member. Tabby Town is a special place with caring, dedicated staff and volunteers who truly love the cats until each one finds a loving home. So when you're ready to open up your loving home to a fur ball full of love, head straight to Tabby Town. You won't regret it!

They also host a variety of fundraisers throughout the year, which is why I recently visited the main shelter to pickup a basket I won from the virtual meat raffle. While I was there, all the employees (or volunteers) were busy doing something to take care of the cats. A few were in the parking lot cleaning carriers, the desk attendant was answering a woman's questions about a cat, and another came by to quickly retrieve my basket. During the short time I waited, I said hi to a few cats in stacked carriers near the entrance which I assume was temporary. The only reason I deducted a star was due to the overwhelming smell inside. I understand it's an old building with carpeting, so I'm excited that they're building a new cat campus and hope it will have a better air filtering system to make visiting the main shelter a more enjoyable experience.

Ten Lives was hosting a pop-up event featuring adoptable cats, and as I walked past the glass, a little Tuxedo kitten pawed and playfully chased after me. That was it -- he was mine! The adoption process took a little while, but only because a volunteer was training someone new. I completed all the paperwork easily through my phone and their iPad, and everything was explained thoroughly. I also love that Ten Lives offers a 14-day post-adoption vet service -- I've already used it since Wasabi (that's his name!) came home with a small kitty cold and a slight hernia. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful non-profit cat adoption agency. If you have a moment, check out their website -- you'll instantly fall in love with all the sweet photos of their adoptable cats. And if an adoption doesn't work out, they will always welcome the cats back with open arms.

Long-time client. Lost my cat today. Read this before you need them in a crisis…read more We've trusted Brighton-Eggert with a dog and three cats for years. The doctors are genuinely excellent -- no complaints there. But when my cat was actively dying and I desperately needed an appointment, they had nothing and sent me to urgent care or emergency care. The urgent care vet was limited in what he could do without my cat's full medical history and test results. Only Brighton-Eggert had it. Comprehensive blood work for the last few years, every 4-6 months. And also the result of the echocardiogram. When your fur baby is dying, you need compassion -- and that's exactly what was missing. A truly compassionate practice shows up for you in the worst moments. This wasn't that. The problems don't stop there. They've also stopped sending prescriptions to third-party pharmacies, a move that forces you to use their in-house pharmacy. They're not in the business of putting your pet first; they're in the business of protecting their revenue streams. Other reviews tell the same story: great vets, but a lack of compassion when you truly need them. If your pet is healthy, they're fine. But if you're facing a crisis, you may find that the compassion and continuity of care you're paying premium prices for simply isn't there. Premium pricing should come with premium support, at least compassionate support, when it matters most. It didn't for us. The doctors are genuinely excellent. But management has lost its way. Read the owner's responses to negative reviews and judge for yourself. We gave them our loyalty and our money without hesitation. What we needed in return was compassion. We didn't get it.
