I'm a retired doc and used to work Urgent Care (we called it urgent scare;) moon lighting...this clinic does NOT give any real treatment, can't read x rays, and labs/xrays are through Castle hospital and then they will call w/results DAYS later? So--ON SITE-there is nothing for URGENT care, NO DOC, only a P.A. or NP. So no complex suturing, (sign says simple lacerations but I don't think they suture), no reading X-rays etc. The Castle facility across the hall does the X-rays but no one there can READ them in the Urgent Care clinic? Unbelievable. I read my own and had a shattered big toe, comminuted=pieces. When they finally called a few DAYS later he said I broke my toe; FORGOT to say 'comminuted', as that is not just a BREAK--that is shattered into several pieces and many times needs pining/surgery to fix. The Radiologist DID say 'comminuted, slightly displaced' but whomever called me NEVER mentioned the MOST important part of that X-ray result! No mention at all! OMG! If I had not read it myself when it was taken (the Castle tech is EXCELLENT at reading but can't say anything 'officially';), and believed it was just a simple break where you 'buddy tape' to the next toe? That could have been VERY BAD. They also do not do referrals? What? So if they have ...let's say, a knee injury or back injury they treat acutely...needing ortho eval...they will not refer? That is highly unusual and I have never heard of an urgent care center that does not refer, does not have any lab results on site, and the staff cannot read a simple X-ray--as no docs! So, they can only do whatever is EASY, non URGENT --very unusual, and useless for ANY injuries. At least in an ER, you may wait, but you will know something is fractured then, x rays READ, (and also officially thru the radiologist later), treated, and also be referred if needed. I'd NOT go here unless it is something really simple, covid tests etc. until they are staffed properly! YES! The staff is nice, so got 5 stars but LACK of treatment ability is ZERO stars=3 stars...sorry! Any UC Clinic usually does urgent cases, sutures, reads xrays, does basic labs on site etc. An UC clinic w/o any docs, can't truly DO anything urgent! As I said, VERY unusual. And, NICE staff. It's not their fault that it is not staffed fully! aloha

I was sent home without adequate evaluation or follow-up instructions. Unfortunately, my symptoms worsened, and just two days later I had to go to the ER, where I received the care and attention I needed. This delay could have been avoided with more thorough attention during my urgent care visit. I understand urgent care can be busy, but patients deserve to be taken seriously -- especially when they're seeking help for real issues. I hope the team uses this as an opportunity to improve listening, diagnostic diligence, and patient communication. I will not be returning to this location and would caution others to consider all options carefully when symptoms feel significant

She's very informative and takes her time making sure I understood her. Yes I love asking questions. She share an office with Dr Jodi which is amazing. Even if I live on the other side of the island I would still drive there and not complain how far it is. Which I do with my other appts with pcp, obgyn, dentist and etc which are only 15-25 mins away lol. Besides I love the scenic views going there. Who runs up and down that stairs to the office...? Me!!! Lol. I would totally recommend Dr Markarian. She's the first Dr that understands Keto alongside with My keto doc Jodi!

That said, Dr. Markarian and her nurse, John, and the rest of the staff are hands down the best. Wouldn't trust my life with anyone else. Helpful, understanding, and best of all - you can reach them when you need them. That's important for me, in a day and age when we lack family doctors and sent to the urgent care or ER.

She immediately took me to the back room and not too long after was met by Chris who asked what the problem was and after inspecting my foot knew what is was and and prescribed medication, called it in and was on my way to recovery. I don't go to Kailua often so it was a bit tricky finding it. It's located in a small shopping area Kailua Beach Center where Island Snow is-tucked away at the far end. Look for the bright yellow facade of the eatery next to it. Staff was super nice and I was seen in a short time, much, much shorter than I would in town. Everyone was professional and they took my HMSA/Blue Cross insurance. I would recommend this place if you live in Kailua and need an urgent care visit.

It got all big and purple and I went in to see if it was broken…read more The APRN said a couple times it was almost certainly broken, but she couldn't find the fracture on the x-rays so she was going to send the x-rays to a radiologist and call me. It's been a week and no one has called me or returned my voicemails. They just sent me a bill for $320 after insurance, but I still don't know if my toe is broken. I basically am going to be stuck paying $320 for nothing and may have to go to another doctor to see if my toe is broke because it still really hurts
