We were hungry and randomly walked into the place because it was busy and the food didn't look bad. Usually when I'm in a different country, I try to try that country cuisine, but we just wanted to get out of the cold. I have to say that the food was very good. Everything was clean however it's interesting. How the Thai food in Switzerland doesn't taste like Thai food in America. we also noticed that the ginger they use isn't the same ginger that you would get in America their ginger had a red tint to it. Tab Tim serves up Thai food in area where there's a need for something different. It's nice that they're here and offer indoor and outdoor seating. The employees are all nice and seem to speak English even with a hard accent. The menus are in German so prepare to need a translation if you don't speak that. The green and the masaman curries were very very watery oily but did taste good. They were simply very thin and not what we expected. We saw an employee carrying frozen veggies but we're not sure if they're used in all dishes or if some use fresh veggies. They offer an extensive menu but also have a daily special menu which is MUCH cheaper. Order from that if you'd like to save money - like, a lot. read more

Shrimp pad Thai is very good. Shrimp has special way to cook . Very delicious! Chicken curry also good.

June 30, 2024 Update When our credit card company contacted the restaurant, it took them a long time to respond with 'the service has been rendered as described.' They didn't even have the courage or honesty to admit what they did. From the get go the service was not good. We asked to be charged in local currency (CHF). She didn't abide by our request and tried to block the USD part of the receipt. When my daughter tried to look at the receipt to double check, she tried to grab the receipt out of her hand. My husband asked why the receipt showed USD with 3.95% mark-up, she insisted she charged us in CHF. We then showed her our VISA transaction from CITI bank's website that she did charge us in USD, she and the male worker kept lying and said it's in CHF. He was eating at another table not even near us but he kept saying he pressed CHF. We asked if they could reverse the charge and redo it in local currency, they both refused again and again. Eventually he told us just go talk to our bank with a very bad attitude. Making mistakes is tolerable, but refused to rectify and keep lying are not acceptable. read more

Really good authentic Thai food, tried the spring rolls and a vegetarian version of the pad Thai, both were great. It is rather small though with outside seating but when we arrived at a Saturday night at around 2100, fortunately there was a table free. The staff there are extremely friendly, would definitely eat there again. read more

It's a nice small Thai restaurant in Bern old town. Thai food is rather for to go as they only have 6 tables. I was lucky to get a table because I went earlier around 11:30 a.m. It's to choose between 3 or 4 daily dishes. Tofu with vegetables + rice meal was tasty and Thai service was very friendly. Ambiance was Thai because of restaurant typical Thai interior decoration. Price was cheap. read more

Same owners I'm told but I went to Tab Tim2. This has been the best Thai place I've been to in Europe. Every other place sucks or is barely passable. I ordered the panang which was a bit too liquidity but flavor was good. 2nd time I went, I ordered vegetarian pad Thai w no fish sauce. It usually comes out bland but at least I know if they use a short cut or if they are legit by using the real tamarind sauce. They did it! They used the real tamarind sauce and it was so amazing and real Thai flavors. I ordered it because I saw a Thai tourist come in and order it and hers looked amazing. They do wonders in this kitchen. I was in Bern on business and stopped here randomly while walking around the Altstadt. Really some of the best Thai food I've ever had.
