A nice place to stop for a break and to refuel. There are 294 TA Travel Centers across 44 states and territories in the United States and Canada. 10 of these are located in Georgia. These places cater to both trucks and cars alike depending on the specific place that you visit. This site is one of those locations and backs up to a larger truck stop. It was very busy so please take care when transiting in and out of the parking lot. It was just south of I-16 and on the east side of SE 301. It had a good amount (about 50 spaces) of car parking on two sides (the north and the west) of the building. Inside was clean with a Burger King in the lobby and a store for shopping basic needs. The inside was polished concrete or terrazzo floors with racks of merchandise and plenty of room between the racks. The bathrooms had full doors that reached to the floor and were very clean and well-kept. Overall, it was a nice place to stop for a break and to get gas for the automobile and I would recommend it as a place for travelers passing through this area.

No toilet seat covers in the three stalls, out of the four in the ladies bathroom.

Po-Jo's Gas & Go is a Chevron gas station located off I-16 exit 116 (US 25/US 301 (SR 73) -…read moreStatesboro, Claxton) in Register, Georgia near Statesboro. If traveling east on I-16 from Macon to Savannah, it's about two-thirds of the way to Savannah. This station has 8 pumps and enough parking space for semi-trailer trucks. Purely as a filling station, this place is alright. The pumps are in decent working order and the receipt printers print fine. I found prices at this station to be a bit higher than those at QuikTrip stores in metro Atlanta. For example, the week of Thanksgiving, 93 octane premium fuel was $3.079 per gallon at QT and $3.199 per gallon at Po-Jo's. From the outside, this station looks OK. The inside is a completely different story. It's old, smells, and is poorly maintained. One of the doors inside had its vent knocked out and replaced/jerry-rigged with a very dirty and dusty box fan. This fan was covered in a disgustingly thick layer of clumpy, dark dust. You can tell it hasn't been cleaned in a long, long time. The restrooms are located inside towards the back. To get there, you have to walk through a restaurant. Yes, there is an actual sit-down restaurant inside here. It looks sort of like a roadside diner with tables, booths, and even a bar. It was completely empty when I passed through. I'm not sure if food is still served here, but I would be scared to eat it. The men's restroom was filthy. The floor underneath the urinals was very wet. I'm not sure if it was water or urine or both. It was probably more of the latter because the restroom reeked of urine. Behind the urinals is an exposed ventilation duct, with low clearance, that had a gaping hole in it. The insulation covering the duct was ripped open. It's fibrous torn shreds just dangled in the air. Finally, the door to the last stall was broken. It had a written note posted on it with instructions on how to handle the broken door properly.

My husband and I went in there coming from fort Stewart to head to visit my in laws in Atlanta and stopped here for our drinks and snacks. A young African American woman was our cashier and rang up our two Red Bull's, beef jerky and two slices of hunk pizza. Or so my husband thought. Right before he slid his card I saw a charge she rang up for a whole pizza for $9.99. We didn't buy a whole pizza. This woman instead of scanning the promo for the pizza slices, rang them up but also scanned us for a whole pizza and my husband would've paid for her dinner had I not seen it. I ripped his card out and ask her to bring it back up, she this time completely skipped the screen that shows us what we were purchasing. So I told her she needed to take off the pizza we didn't buy and she was trying to get us to pay for. Shady shady shady shady. I can't help but think this woman targets military families that don't pay much attention at the checkout. Needs to be stopped, we wonder how many pizzas the customers have paid for or money she has kept from selling a pizza that never existed. I'm pissed.

Chevron - Outside. This gas station has 6 pumps. Located just off I-16 exit 98 in Metter, Georgia.

This is Chevron gas station #205661 located just off I-16 exit 98 (SR 57 - Reidsville, Swainsboro,…read moreStillmore) in Metter, Georgia. It's roughly halfway between Macon and Savannah (closer to Savannah). It's also known as Wiregrass Chevron. This station straddles the 2 to 3 star line. It's small, but has a well-lit and clean-enough pumping area. There are only 6 pumps. However, each has a bright, crisp display that plays videos, with clear audio, while you pump. That's rare. When I visited, the pumps appeared to be relatively new and in good working order. Gas stations are sparse on this stretch of 16. During my visit, the gas prices here were about 15-20% higher than the prices at metro Atlanta QuikTrips within the last 8 days. Inside, there was a sign on the men's restroom door that said: "Due to lack of rest areas on I-16 and the expensive operating costs, we ask you to make a purchase to use our restrooms. Thank you. -The Management." The restroom wasn't great. 1 of the 2 toilets was out of order. There's not much inside the Food Mart, but it's got some essentials. They had a fridge of bottled Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee in three flavors: original, mocha, and French vanilla for $3.09 each. I picked up a bottle of French vanilla iced coffee for the road. It was okay. The cash register has Sonic the Hedgehog rings sound effects. The cashier was friendly. There's what seems to be a randomly placed animal farm next door. It's called Mosley's World Famous Animal Exit Farm. You can buy food to feed the animals in the Food Mart. That makes this Chevron pretty unique.

We ordered 1 Abby's meal - Husband wanted the classic roast beef, curly fries, & a medium drink. They had about 10 choices of drink. But he lit up when he saw Coke Zero. Not many places have Coke Zero, so he was pleased. We split the medium curly fries. They were hot and fresh!! I had just the Turkey ranch and bacon sandwich with water. Both sandwiches were delicious! In fact, my Turkey sandwich was huge and filling. Our bill was under $20. Regular gas was $2.79 for regular with a credit card AND cash! We only needed 3/4 of a tank, buy the price was too good to pass up. Who knows what the prices will be further down the road??
