This is moi fave TA Travel Center. We stop here just about every Christmas and/or every time we go to the Big Texan Steakhouse across the street. ***update*** Keep in mind the original review was done at time of purchase and had already failed. Not even months into dealing with that the tip got stuck in the lighter. I managed to get it out and never used it. I recently came across the broke charger in the original case while cleaning and decided to use gorilla glue to bond it. So far it's held up but I shouldn't have to dealt with this at all. I wouldn't recommend buying this product. I've even seen reviews from folks having issues from their Auto Zone purchase of same charger. read more

Definitely my go-to when stopping in Amarillo. I usually drop by this TA location when traveling back to Fort Worth via I-40 to 287 due to it being on the eastbound side of the road. That, and there is so much neverending construction within a 2-3 mile proximity that doing a U-turn via a westbound direction is not a viable option on somedays. It can be done, yet its a pain in the a**. This TA (like many others) has quite a bit of amenities for the traveler + trucker. There is a lounge area that has massage chairs, and showers available at a cost (usually $13). In addition, there is fast food + the usual assortment of deli & hot food, and a variety of cold drinks. Customer service is usually pretty good here- no complaints whatsoever. Located across the street from a Love's, this location is hard to beat. read more

Usually stop at this TA. They have Pizza Hut inside and really good wings. They bake them not fry them. Also there's Burger King and Popeyes inside. There used to be a restaurant inside as well but looks like they shut it down. They also fix semi trucks and tires and etc. read more

Clean bathrooms. 3.15 a gallon gas. Friendly staff and a gated area for pets. A quick and safe spot.

Signs up about masks being required in public, though not enforced (it is in other parts of the country, particularly Northern CO where it isn't even required yet, and further north and west of Amarillo). About half of the customers were wearing them, which is better than the Love's across the street, which we just left in hopes of finding a sugar free and a decaf coffee. Neither store had either. This store didn't have coffee lids either, so even if I wanted a coffee, I'm not really keen on spilling it everywhere as we drive. Otherwise the store was fine. Easy peasy. The car was on fumes so I appreciated the station being close to where I was and easy-to-use, plus reasonably priced. As of today, $2.09 is about as cheap as you can get without a special coupon or card or membership. Now my car's tummy is full, my tummy is full from The Big Texan Steak Ranch House and I can stop stressing from driving on empty. read more

This is a great travel center, for both truckers and travelers. It's huge, well stocked, and has very spacious clean restrooms. Wow... stay out of the Buck Horn restaurant! They literally have only three other people in here and she can't handle all the stress. One other driver just walked out because she couldn't figure out he was sitting there. She took my order and just ignored him. Amazing Truck Stop!!! Travel Center seemed clean and well stocked with anything a trucker or traveler would need on the road, but the Buck Horn Restaurant was the real star. More specifically, Journie at the Buck Horn. We were on our way home to Colorado after a good, but stressful and trying trip to Waco. Needed gas and a quick bite to eat around 9:30 on a Saturday night and randomly picked this place. Didn't have high hopes, and they got lower as we walked in. Typical dark, dingy truck stop restaurant. A little dirty, but good enough. We sat for a few minutes and were about to walk out before Journie came to the table. She made us feel like we were family. She was hilarious, had me laughing until i had tears in my eyes. She asked about our trip and shared about her life. She was a bubbly little blonde ray of light on our trip. She was exactly what I needed. Hugged each of us as we left. She was a true blessing to me and my family! Food was decent. Salad bar was pretty good, soup looked funky, didn't even try it. Chicken fried steak and club sandwich was typical truck stop quality, nothing special, but filled the belly for the drive. Journie recommended and whipped up her favorite honey mustard for the club sandwich, dang good stuff! 2.5 stars for food, 10 stars for Journie. I'll be making frequent trips through Amarillo in the future and I will plan my trips to make sure I "need" to stop in here, read more

When you're on the road finding a nice place to stop to gas up and stretch is amazing. Gas prices were competitive for the area. The inside was clean and the employees were very nice. If you need to grab a quick nap, the parking lot is huge with plenty of space. Great location. read more

Stopped by on a long road trip back to Colorado from Tennessee. The food, snacks, restrooms were on par with other truck stops. Definitely clean when we went. What do I want to rave the most about though? Their massage chairs in the rest area. They appeared clean, and at 3:00am in the morning that was good enough for me. Most truck stops I spend no more than 10 minutes at. This one, we stayed for 30 minutes recharging with a massage and grabbed an energy drink for the last part of our drive. Travel Centers of America, install those chairs at all of your locations! They are a god send! read more

My favorite place to stop in Amarillo for gas. Their bathrooms are clean, they have a well stocked store, and I love the enclosed dog area where I can safely let my dogs off leash! Easy to access from I-40 and easy to get back on the highway. I will definitely stop here every time! read more

The truck stop itself is great the staff is nice and helpful. If you're a trucker and you need help your best bet is not to see Tommy in the truck service. I don't know why he has a job in customer service when his customer service skills are highly lacking. I asked him to help me do something as a trucker, and he turned me away cold. Not good at all. Would have given this place five out of five stars, but because of Tommy in the truck service, they get three. Sorry TA, you can thank Tommy for that read more

We always like the TA's the people are friendly and 95% of the time the showers and bathrooms are very clean. But on occasion you see people parked in the handicap that do not have a handicap placard and security does nothing about it. Which is sad for those who need it. You need to stay away from this place. Employees are so rude and they don't know how to respect people. They have there own rolls when there is no manager around there and if you ask for manager phone number they will say we don't have it!!! What?? Cashier named Stephanie she don't have no respect. I hope manager or someone knows what's going on there at night. read more

I make the trip from Dallas to Albuquerque every year or so and I always make a point to stop here. I absolutely love this gas station/ travel stop. Its huge!!! The bathrooms are always clean and they have everything you could possibly need and not need! It has a few fast food options like popeyes. They also have an arcade! The restrooms always smell like old urine. Dried feces wiped on the walls. The stalls have huge gaps between door and sides where people can see you doing your business. I watched the porter "mop" the restroom once. He used filthy water that smelled like piss. And he barely got the half the floor. Mechanic shop staff have a real bad customer service attitude! Crystal who worked in the Pizza Hut Express was sooo nice! She made new pizzas and breadsticks for us so they could be nice and hot. Really was nice to see some genuine kindness and we really enjoyed our food. read more
