This communication included details on the location of the tournament, required arrival times, and official links to the tournament schedule. In addition to this, Spirit Volleyball Club wished the teams luck on their official Facebook channel on (https://www.facebook.com/SpiritVolleyball) (screenshots available). As per the information and instructions provided by Spirit Volleyball Club, the families of these team members made plans to be present in Maumee, Ohio early the morning of March 2nd. Many of these families booked and paid for hotel rooms in advance, and made the trip from the Cleveland area to Maumee on March 1st, to ensure their daughters would be in attendance at the venue on time, as specified by Spirit Volleyball Club. The morning of the tournament, chaos ensued as word made its way through GroupMe that Spirit Volleyball Club's owner, Ryan Varndell, had been informed via a January 26th email (screenshots available) by Maumee's director, Zach Lewis, that the tournament had been cancelled. This was NOT COMMUNICATED to the coaches by Ryan Varndell, and therefore none of the parents or team members had any idea. As a result, everyone made the trip to Maumee, many staying overnight, only to arrive to an empty parking lot early that morning. I, as a single parent, spent over $250 between hotel, food, gas and tolls for the four-hour round trip drive. I (as well as many other parents) have subsequently reached out to Ryan Varndell as well as Stephanie Skacan (Assistant Director) several times with ZERO response.

They can accommodate between four and six volleyball courts. There isn't a lot of parking and the Wi-Fi doesn't work. They're pretty strict about what you can bring in with you. As far as volleyball is concerned, the ceilings are a bit low, which affects play negatively with balls bouncing around in the rafters. Otherwise, the volleyball courts are very nice.

My first class (Aerial Silks) was less than satisfactory--I actually had to leave early due to motion sickness. While I understand that part is personal tolerance, I was hoping to try other classes within the package before making any longer-term commitment. Shortly after, I had a family medical emergency that required me to leave town to bring a family member back from Montana and help coordinate care at Cleveland Clinic. This obviously limited my ability to attend classes during the remainder of the 2-week window. At the beginning of the second week, I received a call from a representative offering to "help me sign up for classes." I tried to explain my situation and asked if there was any flexibility--specifically whether I could convert my unused time into an Introductory New Flight pack (even if I had to pay an additional fee), so I could properly try classes after my family situation stabilized. Instead of addressing my request, the conversation repeatedly shifted toward selling me a monthly membership. I explained multiple times that I had only attended one class and was not in a position to commit, but the focus remained on upselling rather than listening. What stood out most was the lack of empathy regarding my medical emergency. The call eventually ended abruptly, with the representative saying she was "sorry she called," which felt dismissive and unprofessional. Overall, this experience felt less about supporting new students or encouraging participation in the sport, and more about pushing memberships. I had hoped for a more understanding, flexible, and customer-centered approach.

They have plenty of ref's and they do a pretty good job of keeping games rotating quickly. They even have items for sale in the event you forgot something or you simply feel like buying paintball related stuff. I won't say it's a negative since it seems like it's what most parks are now doing, but be prepared to pay for field paint. I'm still on the fence here. Yesterday's outing had a bunch of chopped balls, but not sure if new ish marker or paint. Either way, continue to meet some great regulars here. Will definitely be returning. Also, if you happen to forget food, there's several food options within 10 mins.

Once the tennis ends each day, the tall (or not so tall sometimes) tales of yesteryears tennis and other glories are told and retold to the amusement and pleasure of everyone, mostly. Beverages flow, snacks are shared and periodically pot luck cookouts abound. Cleveland sports fans will find the group therapy sessions for all Cleveland's favorite teams comforting in the sharing of their grief and sometimes joy!
