Usually I have great service at this nail spa, but this time the guy at the front desk was aloof and Lilly who did my pedicure was not really into doing a pedicure. I always pay for a deluxe pedicure because I have calluses on both my big toes that need to be removed. When I asked her to remove more of the callus, she would not do it! This is what I am paying for.... Then after she applied the nail color, she disappeared for a long time and I had to ask one of the other employees to call her back to finish so I could leave. I called about 2 months in advance requesting a gel x manicure and a pedi for my destination wedding in slo. When we arrived it took about 25 minutes for the woman to start my nails (she did my husbands 20 minute mani first) It was a slower gel x application and a little gloppy under neath. At the end I asked if she would clean up my cuticles and she said "why" haha I was like uhhh cause it's a mani and I'm getting married? I guess when you get application nails nowadays they don't clean up your cuticles. Two nails popped off on my wedding day. I actually do gelx myself so I was able to fix them when I got home. My visit to this salon was nothing short of humiliating and unprofessional from start to finish. I arrived 15 minutes early for my scheduled 1:30pm appointment with Ken. A surprise Mother's Day gift thoughtfully arranged by my partner through a family member who had recommended him highly. Upon entering the nearly empty salon (just two customers and three technicians present), I clearly stated I had a 1:30 appointment with Ken to the woman who greeted me at the door. Despite the salon being quiet, the receptionist questioned whether I actually had an appointment. I confirmed again that I was scheduled with Ken at 1:30. The atmosphere was immediately tense and unwelcoming. Rather than checking their appointment book, they simply directed me to a different technician's station( the lady from the beginning) not Ken's. The situation deteriorated when Ken himself approached me as his referral's niece, and then publicly berated me, asking "Why didn't you speak up?!" I calmly explained that I had indeed specified my appointment with him twice. The receptionist simply claimed she "didn't hear me," though the salon was nearly empty. As I watched Ken take another walk-in client, the technician I was redirected to rushed through my service. The quality was visibly poor, uneven nail shapes and messy application. When I pointed out these issues, rather than addressing them, she suggested Ken should do my nails instead... the very person I had an appointment from the beginning. Ken's solution was to offer a discount rather than addressing the fundamental customer service issues. When my partner arrived and attempted to clarify the situation, Ken made disrespectful comments and falsely characterized my clear communication as "aggressive." Ken then asked what I felt was wrong with my nails.. a question that should have been asked from the beginning. As I explained and showed him the specific issues, he immediately became defensive of the work. He claimed I "shouldn't look at how my nails are shaped from the backside, only from the front"... though both views clearly revealed substandard work. Even more appalling, he made discriminatory comments to my partner and me about how "in this area we don't act a certain way or talk like that around here." This was in response to me pointing out that since the nail technician was apparently the owner (as he had just revealed), her poor customer service reflected terribly on the entire F'n establishment. My wife, who grew up in San Luis Obispo, immediately called him out for his inappropriate comment. As I was soaking off the poorly done nails and preparing to leave, my partner wanted to address him further, but I was too exhausted to engage and walked out to my car. She later informed me that Ken had attempted to apologize after I left. It came off as a hollow gesture that came too late and wasn't even offered to my face before the situation escalated. Most disturbingly, he reached over and touched my shoulder without permission during this confrontation. Which was an unwelcoming contact that made an already uncomfortable situation feel genuinely violating. What should have been a relaxing Mother's Day treat became a stressful ordeal marked by dismissive service, poor craftsmanship, and inappropriate behavior. I cannot recommend this place to anyone expecting professional service or basic respect. Before anyone responds to my review, i've told them on several occasions to refer back to their cameras and recording because they do in fact have surveillance in the store. I have no reason to lie. I in fact, stayed quiet most of the time because of how uncomfortable they made me feel. You can tell how uncomfortable the two women who were in there during different parts of my interaction were uncomfortable . I even told him to please give the girl that was there during the end my discount that he offered me because he made it so awkward for everyone in there. know that I give this place ZERO stars. read more

First the positive - I was able to walk in and receive a pedicure right away and the guy was careful while cutting my nails. The downside is I received the most unrelaxing and painful pedicure I've ever had. I always look forward to the massage part as I have arthritis in my feet. After a very short normal massage, the guy started pounding my calves and feet with his fists then pulled very hard on my toes. When he scrubbed the callouses on my feet, he actually scrubbed the skin off and I now have a couple of open sores. As far as the quality of the polish goes, he only put on one coat whereas all the other places I've been put 2 coats on prior to the clear topcoat. He also did not polish the cut edges, so they are white. I will not return here nor do I recommend this place to anyone else. read more

TL;DR- One star bc I can't give 0, and an additional one for the nice people. Nothing else. Nice people, but don't trust all of them on their skill level. My nails are so traumatized. This happened months ago and you can literally still see how much they ruined my nails. The darker shade in the pictures are where the tech drilled my nails WAY too thin and are damaged as heck now, compared to new growth nails. Those weird dents in my nail plate line are NOT NORMAL and have been forming ever since that fated appointment day because they sanded it down wayyyyyyy too much. AND you can see how much freaking shorter my left pinky nail is compared to my right. Like WTH????? My nails are so compromised now too because of how thin they are :((( I've been coming to this location occasionally over the course of 2 years. Their many techs all vary in skill by a lot. Most of the time, they can apply acrylic sets well and one of the girls does nice designs. However, the last time I went in was for a set removal. These two men were supposed to be helping me, and while the man working on my nails was hesitant, the other one told him to continue, and assured me it would be fine. I was hesitant as the actual tech was nervous, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Don't make that mistake. They ruined my nails. So much trauma to so many nails even A MONTH AFTER THE APPOINTMENT. I'm so disappointed and upset. If my nails don't grow back normal because of those incompetent men... I don't even want to think about it. ALSO. THE ACTUAL TECH "FORGOT" I WAS SITTING IN FRONT OF HIM AND SHOOK ALL THE FREAKING SHAVED ACRYLIC POWDER ALL OVER MY FACE AND CLOTHES. Mind you, acrylic powder is NOT EDIBLE AND NOT MEANT TO BE INHALED. So, I get do deal with traumatized nail beds and respiratory inflammation due to permanent acrylic powder in my lungs. I wasn't going to say anything because I feel bad talking bad about anyone especially when they gave me a service and seemed like nice people, but I paid for the service (and tipped like what) and this is kind of ridiculous and I would never want anyone to go through what I did with my nails. Go at your own discretion. And pick one of the ladies if you do. At least they acknowledge when something is out of their skill range. Some of the guys do, I just don't know their names, but it's too much of a risk that you'll get a bad one and he'll ruin your nails forever. read more

I got gel x extensions 4 weeks ago, they lasted very well, but I went into to get them removed today and they charged me 20 dollars which I think is an unfair price. More importantly the lack of care taking them off was high. She dug into my natural nail bed which hurt, left a dent and she missed my nail with the electric file twice nicking my fingers. My first time at this business even though it's in my neighborhood. I called ahead to see if I could do a walk-in but needed an appt. a little while later. Once there, I realized how small the space is. I think there are 5 pedicure chairs and they were all in use by a friendly group, who seemed to be regulars. I had Linda who did a fine job if not the most exacting. I like that they are one of the few remaining salons in town who will accept a credit card and have kept their prices reasonable. I'll be going there again for my next pedi, I do know that because my first visit was a positive one. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday morning for 3 pedicures around 11 AM and we were asked to come back in at 12:30. When we came back we were seated for our pedicures, but we overheard the staff complaining that we were late even though we actually were earlier than 12:30. I also noticed that they turned away other customers that had appointments and they ended up conducting an interview for a new nail tech while they were working on my friend's toes. Surprised & disappointed by my bad service today because I usually come to this salon for my pedicures. I pulled a color off the wall that ended up being a dip powder and not gel. Decided to stick with the dip powder because it was neon green glitter. By the end of the service, the color was muted yellow and not sparkly and looked nothing at all like the display nail. The tech was going to finish the nails and let me leave with a color completely different. I said something and eventually, the tech told me she did not know how to use the dip powder, and her best guess was that the brand forgot to send a top coat for the dip powder which is why it doesn't look like the display. I asked for suggestions on how to get the desired outcome i wanted but my tech did not offer any colors to me and instead tried to set up for the next client even though i was very unhappy and was still being serviced on. I asked the tech if she could file the color off so we can start over and she filed off only part of the dip, then started to sprinkle loose glitter on my nails and then top with a gel coat. So now I have a color that is still not exactly the one I want, and I have a mixture of gel and dip powder on my nails. Upset that I had to say something for the tech to acknowledge that the colors did not match and upset that both techs tried to justify that action. They welcomed us right in with a choice of refreshments and the service was by far the best I had ever received. Definitely will be my go to spot for when I am in SLO. Will not be going back nor would I recommend this place. The service was fine but the quality was horrible. I got a dip manicure and they chipped after a day. I have gotten dip many times before from other places and I noticed they skipped steps. When I returned to get the chipped nails fixed, they took the lazy route and just tried to add another layer rather than taking the whole nail off and redoing it. By adding another coat to the chipped nails, it changed the color, so they no longer matched the other nails...even though I warned them that would happen. 5 days later all of the nails had chipped including the ones they patched together. Overall, extremely disappointed. Money NOT well spent. read more

We had appointments for a bridal party and we had to wait 40 minutes to get started, they helped other people that came in after us first (even stopping in the middle of the bride's pedicure to help another person), and the bride was left with only 15 minutes to get ready for the rehearsal despite our appointments for 3 hours prior. My dip is cracked and chipping after less than a week, they only painted and didn't even do the "manicure" part or massage. After a chat with a coworker about her roommate going to T-Nails to get her nails done, I took my chances away from my usual nail salon to get my nails done for graduation. When I looked on their website, they had a photo of flowers laid in the acrylic of a nail which was something that my go-to salon does. Excited at the potential of getting something similar to my usual nails, I booked my appointment by calling them. Once I had told them that I wanted to get a full set of acrylic nails with a design, they seemed hesitant and said that they didn't really do designs anymore, as it took too much time. Hesitant and in a time crunch, I still took the appointment. They called me at 9:45am (my appointment was at 10am) to make sure that I was coming when I was already in the parking lot. Once I arrived and started getting my nails done, they said that they couldn't do what I was asking for (even though it was almost identical to a design on their website) and had offered to do a painted flower instead. Disappointed, I pivoted and said I just wanted a classic french tip with a jewel at the bottom of each nail. The nails themselves weren't awful, but I was really disappointed since these weren't the nails that I wanted for both my graduation pictures and trip. I will say that they also had asked if I thought the nail was okay and I had said yes even though I wasn't really satisfied since I got the vibe that they just wanted me to leave. read more

I have been a very loyal customer over the past 1 1/2 years. I've been going to T nails almost monthly since i moved here but I think Im going to start looking for a new salon. I always get a dip set which always comes out fine but I feel like there is never any consistency. Every time I go in he does a completely different method which is fine I just find it strange. But lately my appointments have felt very rushed even with a booked appointment I've had to wait 30 minutes because they overbooked. Its not a huge issue to wait but its not the first time. At my last appointment, he was going so fast and gave me multiple nicks in my cuticles which hurt, he would continue going back to shape my nails but they still came out uneven. I left with texture on my nails instead of a smooth surface and he didn't bother cleaning up the stuck gel on the sides of my nails. They are not a bad option for a salon but I do agree with some other comments here, they do sand down ur nail very thin, shaking acrylic shavings into your lap, its all true I would rather find a better spot. read more

I got dips done Monday. Already a big chip 3 days later (by Thursday am). None of the back of the nails were filled/covered properly either. The gal that did was super nice and sweet so she gets a star. But the dips needed more coats and to cover entire nails. My Cost was $50 for 3 days. The nail tech I had was a bit obnoxious but I think they meant well. They smelled of cigarettes. I am not one to micromanage my nail job but after I left I realized how bad the French tip looked and I have many cuts and a swollen index finger.. I don't think it was worth the money or time. Also while I was there 4-5 other people who had appointments came in but there didn't seem to be anyone to help them. Not too bad but I have a couple complaints. I went to get a acrylic fill. First of all, they look pretty chunky. My friends pointed it out right when they saw them. Also, they did not paint to my cuticles and left a ton of space so after a week it looks like I already need another fill. They did not cut my cuticles which is what I am upset about. It was kinda expensive for a fill but in this town I am not surprised. I would consider going back but wouldn't have high hopes going in. read more

I think the guy who did my nails might have been new because I went in to remove acrylics and then do gel polish and while removing the acrylic nails he didn't even ask me if I wanted to keep the length of my natural nails. He actually ended up clipping way too short and even broke one of my natural nails to the point that it was bleeding and he had to glue my natural nail together. I'm an anxious person so I just let him finish and didn't say anything. when I went to the counter, they were still trying to charge me full price despite making me bleed on two fingers and leaving all of my nails extremely uneven. They ended up giving me a $5 discount for what happened. My total ended up being $42 for a gel polish and acrylic removal. I can't even call it a manicure because they left my nails uneven lengths/crooked.
