Their truffle cheese is a must-buy!!!! I regret I didn't buy more and it's gone before I knew it :'-( This was basically what the museum was about: The dude made us watch a video about Dutch cheese and afterwards answered any questions I had but with an attitude (he was so offended when I said Gouda wrong, please just say it wrong to piss him off lol). Afterwards, we got to walk around the room to look at the models and the descriptions about the process of making cheese, basically what the video showed us. Save your 7€ for the cheese! I also got a fancy cheese shaving tool here. The souvenirs and the cheese were somewhat affordable so it's a good place to shop. They would bag your cheese in a vacuum bag so it's OK to take them home. Definitely stop by if you're in Gouda, assuming that you're coming all the way here on a Thursday for the cheese market, but I wouldn't make too much effort to come here other than that. Gouda is a cute town though!

Say Cheeese, say Gouda…read more The Goudse Waag is a historic building, built in 1668. Gouda cheeses used to be weighed here. Now it's the cheese and artisanal crafts museum, where you can find out about the history of the Goudse Waag and the products that used to be weighed and traded here. Besides the museum there is a shop where the company UnieKaas sells and promotes its products. Say Cheeese :)
