My son and I used to go to these amusements frequently and for my birthday went back for some nostalgia and it was a pretty bad. Gone were the nice young workers, replaced with a grumpy old man. Gone, too, were the long strips of paper tickets, replaced with a single ticket per game that have your numbered tickets. I.E. If you won 183 tickets on a run in a game you printed out one ticket that said 183. This, though, should be a good thing, less paper, less waste of it weren't for that cheating curmudgeon who scammed my son and I's winnings. I counted our tickets, twice. Now I am no mathematician, but I can count, so I knew our ticket total, near a thousand. The man scans a few bits of what I handed him and tells me we have 200-odd, I kindly disputed and watched as he 'found' a few stubs he missed and watched as he threw the rest away. He claimed we had 400-odd tickets, less than half of what we had, but I was not and tired and decided it's not a big deal. However, on the way home I got more vexed as I thought about the children he probably does this to on the daily. We already know that the prizes you get at arcades are never worth the money spent to win the tickets, but you get entertainment, too, which makes up for it. This outing was not entertaining and left my son and I feeling well and truly ripped off, turned one find memory into a sour experience. Get rid of the cheating old man, please. read more
