I personally like this shop because of the cards it has for boyfriend and girlfriends, I used to find it a struggle to get anniversary cards for my boyfriend but Birthdays has quite a good choice. The only problem is that around holidays it literally gets jam pakced with people pretty much fighting over cards so if you're going to go in here, don't if it's before a big holiday! The card prices are regular prices. The giftwrap however is quite cheap. The staff are ok, not always the most helpful but polite nonetheless.

This branch is split over two floors, with women's clothing, shoes, bags, and a few seasonal decorations on the ground floor. Upstairs, they have men's and children's clothing, toys and games, ornaments, kitchenware, lighting etc. TK Maxx seems to have a reputation (at least on the television) as being a brilliant place to buy designer clothing on the cheap. Well, I can't really dispute that as I don't bother much with the clothing. To be honest, I find it all a bit of a jumble, hard to find the right sizes, and to my mind the stuff is still over-priced! However, I do like TK Maxx for toys and for household items. I've managed to buy some real bargains int he toy department. The problem is, like the clothing, I suppose, it just depends on what they get in. You have to rummage around and you may find a single item that you like, but they will only have one of them most of the time! I did manage to get a lovely star shaped light-shade for about £6, which I know was £18 in B&Q (because I had already bought one!). So I would definitely recommend having a look round this shop - you could find bargain. The only real downside is the check out queues. I don't think I've ever been in without there being a long queue for the check outs, and it feels like it takes ages to get to the front! Oh, and the other thing I don't like is that they charge you for carrier bags!

This store is always busy and, for some strange reason, people always like to stand right in the doorway! As it's busy, it can get quite untidy inside so watch out for items on the floor which you could trip over. There are sometimes short queues at the tills but you're never there for too long. The till staff always seem cheerful and friendly which is unusual for a pound shop! And there are sometimes discounted items that are near there sell-by date on the till that they will offer you.

Service is what you can expect from such a cheap shop, nothing special but you usually don't have to wait long. Make sure if you're not going to spend more than a fiver that you have cash, as they do not allow card sales under a fiver. Overall, a great place to get good deals as long as you know whats cheap and whats not.

They have great prices on seasonal stuff and they usually have lots of kids toys for £1. Warehouse is quite expensive to me, although I generally quite like their tailored looks and lace this season I find £50 min for a dress quite pricey so generally shop in sales here which are quite good and they have some great reductions. Warehouse does not do shoes apart from flip flops in summer. They stock a nice range on jewellery and often reduce it all to a pound in the sakes. I've always found the staff to be very helpful and polite and always offer advice if you need it.

My boyfriend likes pacman and I found a pale blue tshirt with the ghosts on there recently. Sale time - sales here start about 5 and are absolute mayhem as is common of any next in the country. Be prepared to fight your way through the clothing, grab anything you might like and then sort through the bags before you buy anything, that way you can guarantee if you like something that you'll get it in your size!

The clothes aren't always great quality but you get what you pay for - cheap and shoddy clothes! (That's because they're made in sweat shops by children) The store often looks a disordered mess with clothes on the floor and in the wrong place, especially the underwear section as most of the knickers are just arranged on tables. Overall, I avoid this shop as much as possible and only go there as a last resort.
