And y'know what: you can't get "overwhelming" selections of spices, teas, and sugars virtually anywhere else, so that's a GOOD thing. Every one offers a glass jar that you can open to "smell" the sugar/tea/spice you're thinking of buying. In the case of the teas, they will make you a hot/iced version of the tea (and charge for it, but it's surprisingly affordable) to try as well. After awhile, all of the scents kinda blend together (especially for like, hickory or smoked scents), but it's super cool and a ridiculous level of selection. They have smaller pouches, larger bags, or containers/jars for most items, letting you buy smaller quantities to try. I wanna say smaller pouches were starting around $6 (September 2025). They had quite a few blends of demarara sugars that are going to be great for cocktail garnishing. (Salted caramel sugar? Burnt espresso sugars? mmmm!) And my meat-loving friends picked up a ton of different stuff. Expect to spend a bit in here. There are SO many things to see. The basics are divided into various walls (teas separate from sugars, etc.), but their display tables of seasonal merch in the middle of the store require some careful perusal too. Staff was friendly, and they definitely know their stuff, but they clearly know people get overwhelmed and left us alone. I did not expect to pop into the store, but honestly, I'm super glad I did.

Great selection of spices and very helpful staff. Great location, very easy to find. I need to…read moretry out their tea selection

HHomegrown is small grocery market located in the cargo district. It is not listed on the Cargo…read moreDistricts website so think it is on the outskirts of the district. It is in a building that includes two other small business: Bones which sells healthier dog treats and upcycle toys and Bottles, a wine and beer bar (not opened yet). They are located at is 615 S 15th St. The building contains three business: Homegrown, Bones and Bottles only Homegrown and Bones are currently open, I think they said they have been open for six weeks and Bottles hopes to open within thin the next month. I was there as a result of being on the Wait List for a Yelp Elite Event for Bones. They have a good selection of fresh vegetables, herbs, and cheeses all sourced from local farms. While I was there, the owners were negotiating with the wine distributors of Bottles to expand their wine inventory. They have plenty of room in their coolers for expansion The owner of Bottles was covering for the owner of Homegrown while she was negotiating, it seems they are all working to see that their business succeeds. I am a big supporter of new business, especially when I see this type of cooperation.

This small grocery market is located in the cargo district. Indoor is a small business called Bones…read morethat sells healthier dog treats and upcycle toys. There is also going to be a wine bottle shop inside called Bottles that will open soon. Homegrown sells local products and focuses on sustainability. There wasn't too much variety of produce when I was there. The produce prices are at least twice as much as grocery store prices but they are higher quality/locally grown. There are also "bulk" organic dried herbs and spices, flours, rice, beans and grains, including chickpea flour, sprouted whole grain flour, cacao powder, chia seeds, pink Himalayan salt, baking soda, arrowroot. These are not bulk bins, more of around 32 oz glass sized containers. I imagine if you only need a tablespoon or so of the spice or a cup of beans, this would work out for you. You can bring your own container or they have a glass containers available. Other products are local Taste the Olive olive oil, elderberry syrup, vanilla extract, honey, Kind Cultures, eggs, meats, sweets. For skincare there is bulk deodorant, tooth powder, and tea. Reverse osmosis water is available for $0.40 per gallon or free for single serving refills. This would be good market for those that live close by looking for organic, local, and sustainable products.
