On our last day in Frankfurt, we had a little time to kill before happy hour at our hotel…read more Kleinmarkthalle, the largest food market in Frankfurt, was a short walk away. It's a little tough to tell where the entrance is, but we eventually figured it out.
Once you walk into this indoor food market, you'll see a whole host of vendors selling pretty much everything under the sun. You'll see produce (fruits and vegetables), nuts, sweets, and much more. You'll also find hot food including German sausage, pizza, and more. If you come hungry, you're not going to be able to resist having some food and buying more than you should while you're there. It's kind of like going to a grocery store hungry. The food hall is on two levels.
You'll find friendly vendors. Some offer free samples. I only bought a German sausage and some bread from two lovely German grandmothers. They were smiling, asked me questions about myself, and were a joy. What a cute pair! And the sausage was quite tasty (they have five or so for you to choose from). The prices seem reasonable across the board, even though I didn't buy much.
