The owner, Mr Selçuk Ayan is a retired pro from the auditing business years ago. This place was his dream to come true. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in Maya and welcome to the groups. A day in advance reservation is must! (If you are a vegeterian, you need to specify that at the time for reservation. Mr. Ayan can prepare platters with beans or vegetables for vegeterians) We were there for dinner, which is started with cheese plate and ham. Then we had 3 different vegetable platter with olive oil. Artichoke was our favourite one among them. It is flavoured with a touch of nutmeg, dried apricot and pistachio. Grilled meatball was delicious. Dinner continued with charcoal-grilled entrecote and end with either cheesecake or custard. I would definitely recommend this place to spent a special night in Bozcaada. Oh, by the way, they accept only cash! * Maya, sahibi Selçuk Ayan'ın uzun yılladır hayalini kurduğu bir mekan. Bağların arasında saklı bir lezzet durağı. Peynirleri ve ekmeklerini kendi yapan Selçuk bey, şarapları da bölgedeki üreticilerden sağlıyomuş. Slow food için özel üretimleri %30 keçi, %70 koyun peynirleri ise dereceye girmek için gün sayıyormuş. Özellikle akşam yemeğinde tattığımız zetinyağlı enginarı şiddetle tavsiye ederim. Muskat ve kuru kayısı tadını aldığınız enginarın içerisinde fıstık da var! Zeytinyağlı fasulyede ise tarçın tadı! Vejeteryan iseniz mutlaka, bir gün önceden rezervasyon yaparken belirtmeniz gerekiyor. Size özel bakliyatlardan hazırlanmış yemekleri de mevcut. Mangalda pişirilmiş köfte ve antrikot sonrası alışık olduğumuz tadın dışında bir cheese cake ve damla sakızlı muhallebi de tatlı olarak sizleri bekliyor. Cheese cake çok sevmeme rağmen pek bana hitap etmedi. Yemekler ortaya geliyor ve herkes için bir kaşık tatmasına imkan tanıyor. Eğer dolu dolu yemekten hoşlanıyorsanız, doymadan kalkabilirsiniz beyler :) Ben her tür yemeği tatmaktan hoşlandığım için bana hitap ettiğini söyleyebilirim. A really cute doughnut hole with sprinkles came with my coffee and he gave me two extra when he saw how quickly I gobbled down the first. Lots of locals, retro kitschy decor with a modern spin, Turkish music playing in the background. Couldn't think of a better place to be on a long and beautiful afternoon.
