They completed our unfinished…read morebasement with 2 bedrooms, large living area, exercise room, utility room, linen closet, under the stairs closet, and full bath. They were able to schedule us immediately once we received all the bids, and the project took roughly 9 weeks from start to final walkthrough. Utah Basements was the second highest bid received, partly because they did not do the flooring (which we got through RC Willey). Communicating with Todd was very convenient, and he responded quickly to text, email, and messages through the UBKB online client portal, where we formally documented design changes. Victor was on site most days and was extremely professional and very friendly. He answered all of our questions, gave helpful suggestions, and always contacted us when there was an issue or he needed direction. Once materials were in, the crew made fantastic progress framing, plumbing, and electrical. The rest of the process went very smoothly, with the minor exception that a bunch of paint touch ups were needed, but those were taken care of immediately. Overall we had a top-notch experience with Todd, Victor and UBKB, couldn't be happier with the final product, and would definitely recommend them if you need a basement finished!

After years of strong winds, the big storm back in June was the final straw for my roof. Lost too many shingles and had too many seals broken to have another "patching" done on my roof. Based on positive reviews posted by members of various local Facebook groups, I contacted Roof Doctor. Response from Chris Olsen of Roof Doctor was immediate. He came out to conduct an inspection of my roof within a day of me calling, I think he might have even come out the same day I called. Chris fully explained everything he found - and in terms a non-roofing person could understand. I provided Chris with the pertinent information about my insurance company. Chris handled EVERYTHING with my insurance company, keeping me informed throughout the entire process. During the few days Chris was out of town, he made sure there was another Roof Doctor representative available in case I had any questions. As one might expect, the insurance company needed more information from what was originally submitted and there were a few hoops that needed to be jumped through primarily due to Chris recommending a total roof replacement. I can't blame the insurance company as part of their job is to ensure repair costs are legitimate so they can keep their payout costs as low as possible. Keeping payout costs down helps the overall cost of insurance for all of their customers. Ever since moving my insurance over to AARP Hartford, I have been extremely pleased with the cost and service Hartford has provided. I started with better coverage for lower pricing on both my homeowner's and vehicle insurance than what I had with my previous insurance company. The damage to my roof needed to be repaired but the roof was still capable of protecting the house until all the paperwork could be completed and repairs made. None of these delays put my house in danger of having the roof leak. During his inspection, Chris specifically looked for any area that might leak and assured me that if we had another major windstorm before everything was approved, he would come out to inspect the roof and would secure a tarp over any problem areas. From experience, he knew that by recommending a complete roof replacement, it might take a bit longer to get the final insurance approval. Once my insurance gave their OK to proceed with the total roof replacement, Chris scheduled a crew to come out. The crew was prompt and friendly. They worked hard and completed a thorough clean up at the end of each day's work. Roof Doctor's goal was to ensure a quality repair for the lowest costs possible. Their final cost figures even came in lower than originally projected. If you need your roof repaired/replaced, you can't do any better than going with Roof Doctor.

Called Allmans, they spoke with them which calmed them for a minute or two. Years later we are still dealing with the poor installation (the carpet is great, but it buckles due to their horrible work). The wood floors upstairs were split between one good installer and one of the Allman sons. He clearly wanted to be somewhere else. Once he was done with the job, he swept all the dust and leftover pieces into the middle of the room and left. We thought he was coming back. Two days and a few phone calls later we cleaned it up ourselves. Maybe they've improved by now. I'm not going to take that bet to find out.

There were details of the bathroom that went awry (e.g. vertical vs horizontal shiplap), pushed back finish dates, multiple no shows and I had to take into account for items that went missing. The pricing was really great after being the best quote and I appreciated Steven going out of his way to help with unprecedented additional costs. But i was a little frustrated because I had a new tenant moving in and was lied to about the finish date (because no one currently lived there) and had a maid come clean the place just for it to get dusty again because the workers didn't finish which I had to find that out through my tenant. Overall, at the time, Steven was going through some hard personal things, but if you don't mind staying on top of the communication and being patient, this might be a good fit if you're looking for good renovation at a decent price.

From initial contact to the end result, every step in the process was not just completed, it was completed with efficiency and premium professionalism: I cannot say enough good about this company and its work ethic. 1) Bidding: Grant initially came out and was on time, spending as much time as needed to patiently answer questions, no pressure. The two bids he sent were reasonably priced and based on two different shingles I'd chosen. Jare sent past installation addresses so I could see how each of the shingle options would look installed, very helpful. Juli came out twice with samples (she has a good eye), and Grant even laddered up so that we could be sure of color choice. 2) Pre-work: The week before replacement started, Juli, Jare, and Grant all answered questions and concerns I had, promptly. When confirming the city permit was in place, Jare was ahead of me, had already ordered it and sent a copy. The day before work started Heber came by, introduced himself, and chatted with me about project requirements. 3) Replacement: My home is one level and they had it done in 2.5 days, including a snag. Jorge and his crew worked a long day the first day and they worked hard, every day. When Jorge brought roof decking needing replacement to my attention on day one, I feared an extended project. Nope. Jorge had already given Grant a heads-up so Grant was already pricing the extra wood and with my permission had it ordered for pickup. Heber delivered the extra decking around lunch time that same day and the crew had no project down time. Wow, Whitaker Roofing's people work together like a well oiled machine. 4) Quality Assurance: Throughout tear-down and installation Jorge addressed all of my concerns (due to the defective roof I had). Heber made sure the completed roof installation was correct, up to specification, and up to building code by doing his own inspection. The minor things found were corrected the same day. After I later had a new cooler installed on the roof Heber even came out and checked the sealant to ensure no leaking. Juli was always super prompt in answering my follow up questions too. For anyone reading this, this is what a roofing company that cares about customers looks like. 5) Warranty: I went with CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles so the manufacturer's product warranty is a good one. Above that, Whitaker Roofing included their own workmanship warranty that is the best I came across in gathering roofing company bids. And I had over a dozen roof bids. That they are a local family-run company is also a plus. 6) End Result: The new roof looks great! Neighbors have complimented on it and also said they too would hire Whitaker Roofing after seeing how efficiently they work and how attractive the new roof is. I would *highly* recommend Whitaker Roofing Services and their entire team!
