I had a covering doctor for a year by the name of Dr. Sandhu (my regular doctor (Dr. Jamal) was on personal leave), and it was probably the worst medical experience I've ever had. She was extremely cautious in treating me, which ultimately led to my suffering. She didn't seem all that confident in herself or me to ensure my care was properly managed. For example: I have ADHD. It is not my first rodeo being on stimulants. I switched from one stimulant to a different one, and I had to stay on a dose that wasn't working for me for 6 long weeks. I wasn't able to focus at school and ultimately failed one of my courses. I told her about this, but she insisted that I stay on a dose that isn't working for me because she was scared to move me up. It seemed like she was really scared of being liable should anything happen to me. I have many more examples of this but I want to keep my medical history private. Dr. Jamal was very proactive and I'm SO glad he's back because while Dr. Sandhu was nice and kind, her style of care did not work for me at all. I hope to avoid her at all costs.
