I picked up the shoes a week later and was happy to see the holes and cracks sealed and paid him the $45.00 for the repair. Within a day the repair failed and I had to make the trek down again. When I picked up the shoes the repair work looked very sloppy but wondered it that meant the repair would actually last. I decided to wear them in my house for a couple of hours before risking having soaking wet feet all day again... within the first few steps the repair instantly failed and cracked away. Once again I called him and asked if he would provide a refund for the work that he did and was told it wasn't something they did but he would repair them again if I wanted. Seeing how quickly the previous repairs failed, I felt that the hour and a half I would spend driving there to drop them off and back to pick them up would be wasted. The shoes are now in the garbage and $45.00 wasted along with my time and gas/parking costs. I understand that at times things don't work but I'm very disappointed that he wouldn't refund money for a service that wasn't delivered.

In an attempt to fix twice they added unmatched fabric and again an uneven hem. When asked for a refund the owner explained that a hem is the outer lining and the inner lining is a fraction of the cost. He offered a15%discount. This shop was recommended by a dress shop in oakville. He was dismissive and could care less about my business. I would not recommend this shop!

O.K......so, I'm a Dad with 4 teens and I'm doing a first time review of a 'dressmaking ' shop…read more That fact alone should tell you how much this little shop has impressed me and my family. This review is more for their exceptional skill at alterations and repairs than anything else. It all started with my daughter's 2 prom dresses ( which took 9 months to find btw ! ) that needed to be altered. We kept hearing rave reviews from a bunch of people about this place called Lucy's - so we checked them out. The amount of time this place took to do the appropriate measurements was really impressive - they were very patient and meticulous in their work. And once they came back - WOW...they looked like custom made garments. It was like night and day and after trying them on and taking them home, my daughter couldn't stop grinning all the way home. From that point on, Lucy's is the only place my wife and daughter will go for alterations. Then, one of my daughters' ' expensive ' parkas had the zipper break. Talking to 2 other shops, one said it was too expensive to fix and finding a proper zipper would be difficult, the other said it was also a ' difficult ' repair and would cost over $100+++. At Lucy's, they were able to just look at it, smile and say ' no problem ' - all for less than $50. Lucy's repaired it and it came back as good as new. In my case it was zipper issues as well . Our puppy somehow got a hold of my ' very expensive 'leather jacket and chewed the zipper apart. And, the zipper on my favorite 20 year old parka finally fell apart. In both cases, Lucy's came to the rescue and did a super job of replacing both of them....and all for dirt, dirt cheap price....and both looked just as they did before. Perfect ! So, if you're in need of alterations and repair from a shop with exceptional skill and cheap prices - you can't do any better than Lucy's. Highly recommended !

Max Mara vanilla linen suit. I only took in my pants. My pants returned a dirty grey colour. Apparently, Dove used an old dirty solvent/solution. 2. Greta Constantine black bodice/white skirt dress. The white section came back with blue (evident bleach stains) marks all over the front and back. I refused to take it and asked them to send it back. I received it back - it looked fine in the garment bag in the facility. I brought it home and it is damaged. The blue colour is gone, however, the stains of the residue of the bleach is still there. They refused to give me my money back for the cleaning. I am so upset as both pieces above are not replaceable. I WILL NEVER RETURN. AND RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU VALUE YOUR ITEMS, DON'T SEND THEM HERE.

Zara was able to taper this in and they turned out great. Zara also took in and shortened a few different mens dress pants. Not just at the waist but all the way through. We went to her home and she had a private area for getting dressed and undressed. Zara is so lovely. Lots of experience. Reasonably priced. And all of our items were ready when she said they would be. We won't go anywhere else now for alterations. Thank you Zara!!!
