A pleasant evening of mini golf, burgers and cocktails.
Swingers is the latest (and definitely the most polished) addition to the London 'activity drinking' scene. If you've ever been to Bounce, it'll feel very familiar to you. Full of city boys in suits making the most of the London night scene before the last train to Kent.
It's beautifully decorated, particularly the toilets, and the courses are expertly designed to maximise the space they occupy in the shadow of The Gherkin, although I did find some of the nook and crannies I had to stand in to tee off, a bit cramped. But then, I'm massive. So life is a bit cramped.
I only hit my head once too, which isn't so bad.
I found ordering food from the bar, rather than the individual food vendors a bit counter-intuitive, but the food was made speedily and tasted great too!
It's going to cost you a fair amount to play golf all night, but we played one 9-hole course at £15 which seemed to not take very long at all, so I'd probably recommend stumping for two games.
The staff were friendly, and the banter was plentiful. The cocktail I ordered seemed a bit lacking unfortunately. I had an original recipe Tulip, bourbon and mint in a tall glass. It was tasty but contained mainly ice and not much liquid, but maybe I got a dodgy one as nobody else seemed irked.
Overall, I'll be back to try and beat my woeful 34. It's a shame being competitive, doesn't mean you are any good at golf - but it's enjoyable all the same! read more
