Love this place! Everyone is so interactive and encouraging here. I took only 4 classes. First three were with Maksym and the last one was with Edward. Both of them were so kind, patient and enthusiastic. I had no previous swimming experience when I started and so they always made sure I was comfortable with doing any new techniques and going to a deeper side of the water. I am not a quick learner but I would say I really got the hang of some basic yet important skills that can help me get better at swimming with time and more practice. Thank you so much, Maksym and Edward! PS: You'll see cute little kids everywhere and that'll just make your whole day read more

We experienced several concerning incidents with the two coaches we had during the short time we attended. What became clear very quickly is that these are young instructors with little to no experience working with children and a limited understanding of how to handle common situations that arise in a pool setting. In one instance, as a "safety exercise" the coach had my 9-year-old daughter to swim with her eyes covered with the swim cap. After my daughter became visibly upset, cried, and explained that she felt anxious and her heart was racing, the coach continued to push the exercise. I asked the coach to let it go for the time being and she agreed, but minutes later told my daughter that she would have to do it next time regardless of how she felt. Anyone working with children, especially in a swimming environment, should have at least basic training in recognizing and responding appropriately to anxiety. The coach's approach showed a lack of understanding, empathy, and judgment. This experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend spending your money here. The school appears to invest very little in properly training and preparing its instructors to work with children. read more

### 2023 review 5/100 ### It seems like the office folks have a lot to improve... hope they get their act together sooner than later? I haven't dealt with the office issues, so I cannot say much about that. But the 2 instructors I interact with are amazing with the kids. Parking structure with separate entrances: street level, 1st floor and upper 2nd level -- plenty to share. And people with big family vans, please please please... park on the upper level instead of taking 2 compact parking spots. Thank you. read more

We're very happy with this swimming school! The coaches are patient and encouraging, and our child feels comfortable and confident in the water. We've seen great progress and truly appreciate the supportive environment. read more

First and foremost we are extremely satisfied with Swimright Academy. We've been coming to Swimright Academy for over a year now and we couldn't be happier with the swimming lessons my son's been taking. Oscar is my son's instructor and I absolutely adore him and the bond that he and my son have;Oscar is so caring and knows how to make sure that my son has fun as well as learns what he's supposed to. Symeion is also a great instructor and is my go to for any make up lessons my son needs. He's attentive, patient and also very caring. As a make-up instructor he makes sure that my son learns any missed lessons and goes a step further to make sure he's caught up. Overall we are very happy and content, and we definitely recommend Swimright Academy. read more

I gave swim right academy another chance. My other two grandchildren enrolled. However, the same turn over rate with staff. Additionally, the same problem with instructor's instructions. My grandson and another granddaughter both were enrolled at the same level. I had an A personality teacher very anal on the most minute detail the other a B personality handing out 3 stickers every session. Neither child could just freely swim yet they were both bronze hats. They caught colds so they postponed classes as to not get anyone else sick yet we were still billed. If you stop you must repay a $200+ registration fee. The school currently has over $680 in unused payments. They will not stop the billing to exhaust this money. My grandchildren would or should complete the program before all this money was used up but there would be 0 refund! It's a scam money grubbing school so steer clear. LACES School is far cheaper & your kids will actually know how to swim. read more

July 2023 update: My older kid has been here about a year, and my younger one just started (group lessons for both). I still give the school a 5-star rating, but with the caveat that I feel they over-emphasize the back float at the beginning, at the expense of developing strokes. I am reminded of this as my younger one is starting in the Floater class. He has some fear of floating on his back, and I think that is because in the initial Floater class, they neglect the concurrent development of strokes. Of course it is scary to float on your back when you haven't learned how to swim laterally! I think it would be better if they developed 1-2 strokes in conjunction with floating. Once you get through the initial Floater level, then it is great. My older kid is in the Freestyler (bronze) level now. The kids who make it through the whole program have excellent technique, which is on display when the pre-team practices in the evenings. read more

Based on the reviews I've been taking my son to a parent and tot class on Tuesdays at 1 pm. This means that the big pool is empty and the pool we are in only ever has 1-2 other swimmers in it. The experience is relaxing and quiet and my son has been able to be introduced to the water peacefully. It also means there's always an open bathroom to get dressed in and shower and change after which make a big difference with an infant. However the free class they make you take before signing up is on the weekends and that was terrible. Way too many kids, way too much going on, bathrooms were always full, just too much chaos. Also, I think we were lucky because our instructor, Sam. is really good with babies. He understands this isn't about technique but just about getting comfortable. He missed a class and the substitute has such a serious vibe my son cried the whole time lol she was just way too intense. All and all we've done it for about 2 months and I think we're going to stop for a few months and restart when he's older and can get more out of it but now I know how to hold him and play with him safely in the pool so it was just we much of a learning for me as for my son! read more

The thieves , simply thieves. Placed my account on autopay , I asked to remove autopay they confirmed like they did But they didn't . So the charges keep going . When I checked my bank statement I called and asked to return my money back . They opened the case , investigated and denied my request. So they just took money from my account for no services performed. The highest hierarchy manager Lorig Koujakian who was arrogant and not customers or business oriented called me aggressive and banned me from all their locations. I said thank you I banned you guys s long time ago . Good luck in business with that policy and that management . read more

Our daughter Nazli has been taking classes since she was 9months old and she is now 3yo. First in a toddler-parent class and now in private classes. Her teacher has always been Oscar and I have to say that we had the BEST experience we could ask for. She is so confident in the water and she enjoys her classes very much. The begging was hard but Oscar was an an outstanding teacher and transformed the fear in fun! He makes every interaction so personal and so empathetic. He remembers names and personality of each and every kid! She loves swimming with Oscar, she trust him and he is one of her role models since she was an infant. The relationship she developed with him is just amazing. He knows how to remove the fear from her, how to work on every skill customizing the class specifically for her level and personality. I don't know what we would do if Oscar would every leave. We recommend swim right 100%! And we will soon enroll our second child hoping to find and opening in Oscar's classes :) read more

In November, Swimright offered a Black Friday Deal where clients could pay both December and January tuition up front in exchange for 50% in February. I was barely able to scrape together the $1600 that was required to do this and was just contacted (via phone) and told that Swimright would no longer honor the 50% off because we aren't in a group class. Instead, they will kick us our of Swimright before we are able to use the 50% off. This looks like a very intentional design. Collect two months of tuition up front and swindle the clients out of their guaranteed discount. (Note: we are not in a group class because none of their very limited group class times work for my preschooler's schedule). I've emailed management (again) hoping for help with this impossible situation. read more

My son started started Swimright academy about 5 months ago and he has made so much progress since then. Instructors are amazing. They have an amazing programs and the academy also have their own app that allows parents to schedule or reschedule classes. There are many days/ time options. They really make it easy for everyone. I could not recommend it enough! read more

My daughter has been going for a couple months now. She is getting comfortable in the water. The lessons are 20 minutes and during that time they don't waste a second. The teachers are sure to give a quick progress report at the end of the lesson and are responsive to questions. My daughter quickly built an attachment to her teacher Molly. She is making great progress. read more

So far so good. I like their method. Kids start with private lessons and this is what my kid needs. We've had 4 lessons so far and she has progressed more than another place where we did lessons. I like the app easy to book or cancel lessons. read more

I have had the absolute please of having Oscar be the instructor for both of kids for the last 8 years. Nothing but positive training and reinforcement of swimming fundamentals so when you leave you know your kids will have the ability to save themselves in case of an emergency. Both of my kids now can swim effortlessly on their own in 8ft deep pool minimal to no assistance needed and all thanks to Oscar absolutely recommend him as a trainer. THANK ME LATER read more

Our children have been swimming with SwimRight since they were 6 months old. As a former college swimmer and lifeguard, swimming is an essential life skill! My family chose SwimRight for proximity to our house and we have stayed for one amazing instructor, Oscar Ambrosio. Oscar embodies everything you could want in a teacher for your child. We have two very different kids and Oscar has managed both of their personalities with grace and love. I attribute all of my children's learning to Oscar and honestly wish we weren't forced into group lessons for my oldest where I have seen both diminished progress and diminished love for swimming from her private lessons with Oscar. If you can get your child into lessons with Oscar you will not only watch your child gain water confidence and skill, but you will see them make a friend. read more

This is a joke of a business. We have been signed up for lessons with Aracy for the last 2 months and she's missed more lessons then she's actually shown up for. We often receive a text that our lesson is cancelled 2 hours before the lesson! Look at the texts below. How is my child ever going to build upon their skills/learn how to swim in the first place when weeks are are going by between lessons? SwimRight offers 2 for 1 makeup's, which seems ok at first until you realize you have more makeup's than you'll ever be able to use because they hand them out like candy to cover their completely unprofessional constant cancellations. Spoke to the manager about it last week and he apologized and said because the teachers are independent contractors, there's literally nothing he can do. Terrible business. We're leaving. Sad we've lost so much time as it took over a month to get on the schedule in the first place. Don't waste your time! read more

So amazingly glad we found SwimRight! We've been having the worst time finding a place to let our daughter learn to swim. A classmate recommended the program and boy were they right!! 8 lessons and our daughter is submerging and doing so amazingly great with the help of Moly and all the other amazing teachers. Amazing and can't recommend enough. read more

My daughter is 6 years old and she loves to swim here. She loves her teacher. She likes to get award stickers every time she fishing her class. As a parent, I love how this school has good teaching system such as they have different levels of classes and every time the kids passes their class they get new color of swim cap and get praise from others. I think that encourages the kids to feel confident and proud themselves! I highly recommend swim academy to other my friends! read more

It really is a great feeling seeing your child's improvement from not wanting to take a shower to having great confidence on jumping at deep waters like nothing! The best investment for kids is knowledge, and them learning how to swim is something they will be using their whole life! read more

While I appreciate the intent, there is no reason why I would want partial monetary credit for classes that I cannot use which don't teach my child anything. I'm out an extra $400 past the point of already having existing credits which I could not use because my daughter was so miserable. You were made aware of the issues, that is a terrible excuse for negligence and lack of effort on the part of the instructors and management. The right thing to do would be to understand that your customer has been with you for a long time and in this case you have failed to provide the service the customer paid for. read more

Extremely poor customer service experience both in person, over email, and text. Their "app" is not user friendly and they prioritize business over anything else. Would not recommend this organization. Classes were also poorly run and varied widely depending on what teacher you got. read more

My son has been attending for over six months now, and he loves it. The sticker system is great and really motivating, which works well in today's world. You can always switch trainers, which is awesome because we currently have Maurice, and we like him a lot. Before Maurice, we had another trainer for only three sessions, and during those sessions, we didn't get any stickers. The trainer wasn't making sense to us--doing exercises my son already knew. It seemed like the trainer didn't like how he was doing them. The last straw was when a 20-minute personal session, which is already short, ended after just 17 minutes. That's just ridiculous. But now everything's great, and we think things will go well with Maurice. read more

We loved our class with Shannon! She was extremely knowledgeable, explained everything, made it fun for our child and listened / answered all of my questions. The facility itself is great- family changing rooms, free parking - the only thing is it gets a bit loud on weekends (it's indoor and there is echoing). I do wish it was outside and there were more places for parents to sit and watch. read more

Update long overdue. They let us have free lessons to make up for all the trouble to try them out. I'm giving 5 + stars for that opportunity. I do want to minus a star due to it being so frustrating trying to get a hold of anyone. It has been a long time so hopefully they fixed that issue. The system is really good. Two teachers who I don't think still work there were amazing. They made this the best experience lessons wise. They were patient, gifted with kids and teaching them how to swim. read more

The program is great. And just like with most places it's all about the people. I trust that Lenny and Jared will continue to hand pick instructors like Ariel, Ivan, Miguel and continue to pay personal attention to all details. We always received great care and see no change since back after lock-down. The pre-team instructors are solid. Thank you for being here! Keep up the good work:) read more

If you're looking for the most expensive place with the worst THE WORST customer service, well you found it. Not only do they NEVER have the class my child is scheduled for but they also go to lunch in the middle of the day without anyone left in reception. Just me and other parents wondering where the money to this place goes because it definitely is not for the kids or teachers. The place is a joke and the bathrooms are disgusting. You think it's a trucker stop! Either way won't be coming back to this joke of a place. Thanks for always disappointing my kid! WORST PLACE EVER!!!! From Swim Right .... Hello, Kirk. This is Sarah with SwimRight. I am one of the directors and wanted to reach out to see if I could bring your account back to good standing for you. Whether you continue with us or not, we would like to at least address your situation of having several canceled classes. If you are available, please feel free to call/text me directly at 323-433-1002, and I would be happy to help you. Thank you. - Sarah My response ......Hi Sarah not sure I understand your text. The only way back to good standings would in fact be to continue with SwimRight. I suggest we pin down date time for us to talk it out see both parties can achieve their goals. After this long weekend what date time works best for you for us to connect? Well I assume your text was window dressing not a real attempt to solve an issue. As I've gotten no response to my text reply.Unfortunate as I'm certain many disappointed parents and children have dealt with poor business manners. So how would you feel as a customer ..... read more

signed up for the free trial for the parent/beginner tot program and we enjoyed the quick 30 min session. we loved how the instructor seemed like she had years of experience acclimating babies to water! tried to register for actual classes, but ran into the app being down. it was back up a few hours later, but it was PAINFULLY slow. really, really hope this app doesn't suck as much as some of the reviews here say it does read more

They have doubled their prices in the last year to an outrageous $60 for 20 minutes. 100% price hike. Yikes.

We've been bringing our daughter here for the last 6 months and we really enjoy it! We don't have access to a private pool so finding a class with its own facility was key. The JCC location is beautiful and well maintained. Easy parking and lots of dressing rooms and showers for all. They offer many class times and are flexible with make up classes if you need to shift schedules here or there. The instructors are patient and seem to really enjoy the kids. Our daughter is only 11 months so I can't say there has been a drastic difference in her technical ability, but she has grown much more comfortable in the water and is starting to show signs of understanding her survival skills (rolling, grabbing the wall, etc.). read more
