Eddie is hands down the best swim instructor in the Conejo Valley! My 4 year old daughter was afraid to put her face in the water on the first day of swim lessons and by the end of our 2 week session with Eddie, she was jumping into the water and swimming! :) Eddie is calm, but direct with the kids. He gives simple instructions, encourages the kids to continue to try new things, and helps them work through their fears. Our daughter completely made a 180 and now loves the water and loves swimming because of Eddie. Highly recommend you use him for your kiddos! I already can't wait for my son to start swim lessons with Eddie next year when he turns 2. read more

Eddie is amazing. Patient, creative. Really cares about the kids. Guarantee the kids will swim in nine lessons and when they say all the kids will mostly cry the first couple days and stopped. He was so on cue. My grandbaby is 2 1/2 years old. She did cry the first three lessons, but she listened to everything he said to her and on day four she took off swimming. She took her lessons with her cousins, so there were three of them for 30 minutes and they each take turns. Water safety is #1. read more

Sometimes you see all 5 star reviews and you wonder if they're accurate. I'm here to say they are!! My 3.5 year old daughter is on day 7 of classes with Eddie and she started off crying for the first 3 days. She hated getting her face wet and is a very headstrong little girl. By day 4, she started to look forward to coming to class and the tears stopped, and after day 5, she was already trying to show us her swimming! My husband and I keep commenting about how impressive it is how far she's come in just a weeks worth of classes. Eddie's technique works! 100% recommend his class! read more

We love Eddie! Our son was 3.5 YO when he started with Eddie. We've had 2 different swimming coaches that we took before and it didn't click, and we were worried... Our son was really scared but day 3 he was already starting to swim and float. Eddie is very gentle, kind, but firm with children. He has so much patience. Our son is now 6.5 and we took Eddie again for 2 weeks, he's progressed so much. And because our son already knew the basics, Eddie catered to his skills and taught him techniques such as diving to get a jewel, breast stroke, freestyle. We will definitely keep coming back for refreshers and refinement. Swimming is a non-negotiable investment for anyone as it's a survival skill - and we're so thankful Eddie was able to help our son get through his fears of the water! Thanks Eddie and Jessica!!! read more

Based upon the Yelp reviews I signed my three year old grandson up for lessons. It's very important that all kids become pool safe, and Eddy is the man to see. He has the patience of a saint. He was successful in getting our grandson pool safe or close to it by the end of the first series of lessons. It's $500 for nine lessons. The lessons run for 1/2 hour on nine consecutive days. Eddy's program runs smoothly and efficiently. Highly recommend. read more

We can't say enough good things about Eddie!!! Our three kids just finished his 9 day course and I am amazed with the results. My oldest is almost 6 and prior to his class she was able to swim around the pool and was water safe, but she was mostly just using doggy paddle to get around. Eddie worked with her to use proper technique and now she knows several swim strokes, swim across the pool while coming up to take occasionally breaths, and she can now dive to the bottom of the pool and retrieve toys. She was so sad when her 9 days came to an end because she wanted to keep swimming with Eddie. Her direct quote was "I love Eddie! He is the best teacher ever!" I also have 3.5 year old twins that were not able to swim at all prior to their time with Eddie (without puddle jumper floaties). They were excited to start swim lessons, but were quickly terrified with putting their heads in the water. There was A LOT of tears the first 3 days. I started to have my doubts on whether or not he would get them swimming in just 9 short days. Especially my stubborn girl who can cry and cry and cry when she doesn't want to do something. Eddie was very patient with them through their tears, but he stood firm in making them face their fears. And rest assured, by day 4 there were no tears. By day 5 they were even starting to get excited about swimming. By day 7 they were jumping in and swimming across the pool on their own. After we finished up day 9, the woke up the next day excited to go back and were so sad to learn that lessons were over. We have been swimming a couple times since our time with Eddie ended and they have only continued to improve. They love practicing the skills that Eddie taught them and we are so happy to know that they are safe in the water now! Eddie's wife, Jessica, also made the booking process and communication seamless!! Thank you, Eddie! read more

Both kids (4 and 3) had a great experi nice with Eddie. Both were new to being in the water without swimmies. My daughter, 3, is more stubborn and had a HARD first day. It's okay! Eddie was very calm and supportive and consistent. By day two she was very determined and EXCITED to go. Both kids were jumping in the pool and swimming underwater by the end. It made me feel more comfortable with their pool safety. They can swim and know their way out of a pool in an emergency. read more

Swim to Eddie was amazing! Eddie was very patient. Our kids made so much progress in such a short period of time!! Can't recommend Eddie enough!!! read more

We now have a swimming 3 year old thanks to "Teacher Eddie" (what my son likes to call him)! I could not recommend Swim To Eddie more highly! Of course at first we had to deal with the pool scaries, (the screaming and the tears) but that part only lasted for the first 2 or 3 days, and the rest was smooth sailing. Eddie is super calm, very friendly, and EXTREMELY patient - I watched him deal with back to back children who were just so afraid (this experience can be really hard on the kids at first) - and he did it with such grace and ease, ultimately making them feel comfortable and excited to be there. My son has gained a new found confidence in the pool, thanks to Eddie! He truly had such a fun time learning to swim and still asks to go back. We are excited that we get to practice all summer long, and he remembers the tricks and fun tips he learned from Eddie. Do yourself a favor and sign your child up! You will not regret it! Thank you, Teacher Eddie! We will miss you and your beautiful pool! read more

Eddie is one of the best instructors I have ever met, and I have been in the fitness industry for over 7 years. His patience, persistence, and professionalism really shows when he works with his students. No matter what experience, age or limitation a student might have, he will find a way to teach them how to be safe in the water. In addition, no matter how difficult a student might be at the time, he never lost his cool, not once. Here's a little breakdown of our experience. Day 1 - crying and wanting to get out Day 2 - did not want to go back to swim lessons because she was scared. When we got there, more crying and wanting to go home Day 3 - WE HAVE A SWIMMER Day 4 - our daughter was excited to go to swim lessons Day 5 - after a long weekend our daughter was scared to go back, but once in the pool all that fear disappeared. Day 6-9 - she loved it and really got the hang of kicking and using her arms. She even jumped in and swam to the other side of the pool, multiple times. In the beginning it can be a very difficult experience as a parent, especially knowing how dangerous water can be. When you see your kid crying and wanting to stop our paternal instinct wants us to run over there and make them feel better. A couple pieces of advice if it is your first time bringing your child to swim lessons. 1. Trust the process. Eddie knows what he is doing and will make sure his students are safe. 2. Try not to be a helicopter parent. This is very difficult but very important. I can't say I didn't give a few pointers from the sideline, it's just a habit from teaching my kid other things. But it takes away from the child's learning experience and takes their attention away from Eddie. 3. Always cheer and encourage, even if they are crying. Overall this is one of the best investments I have made, especially for my child's safety. We will definitely be back for more lessons. Thanks Eddie read more

Eddie is an absolute natural with getting kids comfortable and confident in the pool. His calm and patient demeanor welcomes kids from day one and by the end of their class will be talking about "going swimming with Eddie" for months to come. Just from our 9 day experience our 2.5 year old daughter is comfortably swimming between her parents in the pool, knows to use the wall of the pool to navigate back to the step/stairs, and jumps into pools (with parents present) confidently. I would not trust her swimming alone quite yet, but swimming with Eddie has made us much more comfortable with her swimming without floaties and confident in her knowledge of pool safety. read more

I recommend Swim to Eddie for children of all ages who are learning to swim and those who are looking strengthen their skills and boost confidence in the water. My daughter turned 3 during her Summer session and is very confident in the water now. Eddie is patient and his techniques work! read more

My 4 yr old and 6 yr old just completed lessons with Swim to Eddie this past June and it was the perfect start to the summer. They learned so much in those 9 days and were able to practice their skills throughout the summer. I am grateful that my kids have learned this life-saving skill and am glad they were able to learn in a small private class of 3 kids max without any distractions. After they completed their lessons, I got rid of all their floaties and they've never asked for them once. I know their confidence in the pool will only get stronger thanks to the services Eddie has provided. read more

We have been going to Eddie since my daughter was 2. Taking his refresher courses since we don't have a pool and don't practice the skill enough. This year our little guy joined classes and did amazing. Eddie is calm, patient and focuses on the skills to keep kids safe in the water and how to get out safely if they fall in. Not only is Eddie an amazing swim instructor he is also a very courteous neighbor. In every email to us he gives specific instructions where to park and not park. He asks his students and parents to change their kids in their bathroom and not in the vehicles. He even goes as far to offer his own driveway. Eddie sends reminder emails the week before and week of class to ensure people are not blocking driveways or parking in front of houses and mailboxes. Eddie is helping educate children and parents to be water safe. We are so thankful for Eddie's swim lessons and will continue to recommend him! read more

Eddie is a MAGICIAN!! I signed my son up for Swim to Eddie after having a terrible experience with my 3 year old at another swim school. Prior to the other lessons, my son loved the water but after 6 weeks of 2x per week lessons at the other swim school (that were super expensive) my son was completely traumatized and wouldn't go near a pool. Then I heard about Eddie from some friends so I signed him up. Literally on day 1 of class with Eddie, my son regained his LOVE of water and was already able to swim to Eddie. Within 3 days he was already at the point where he could life-save swim to the side of the pool and by the end of class he was swimming completely independently across our whole pool. I can't thank Eddie enough for giving my son back the gift of love for the water and giving me peace of mind that he is now much safer in and around a pool. THANK YOU EDDIE! read more

Swim To Eddie - Jumping in the pool on day 5 - Swimming Lessons/Schools Near Me - Simi Valley, California

Eddie is amazing! We absolutely recommend Swim to Eddie! Our daughter (Gracyn) had her lessons with Eddie in the beginning of June 2020. We weren't sure what to expect since she never had lessons before and had just turned 3 at the end of May. She has always loved the water and was very confident swimming with her puddle jumper. She loved going to her lessons every day and cried when it was time to leave. Eddie is an amazing teacher and challenged Gracyn in such appropriate ways. He's incredibly patient and great at reading each kid to gauge what they need, how hard he can push them and more importantly, when they need a break. We weren't sure about the dynamic of her being with two other kids during her lesson (different ages, ability levels, etc.), but Eddie's structure truly works. Sharing a 30 minute lesson with two other kids seemed like it would be hard to get focused time. However, that wasn't the case at all. And once we saw it in action, it made so much sense. Also, once Eddie recognized that Gracyn was learning and progressing faster than the other kids in her lesson, he was great at making adjustments to continue teaching her skills at the rate she was learning. We absolutely recommend lessons with Swim to Eddie. Our younger daughter (Rylee) will be seeing Eddie in the future. read more

We have a new swimmer! Thanks to Coach Eddie! We'll definitely come back for more swimming lessons next year.

My daughter almost drowned in a pool when she was 4 years old. After that, she was terrified of water and would not step foot near a pool. Eddie helped her so much overcome her fear of water! She learned how to swim in 9 days!!! This was the best class we ever spent $$ on!!! I highly recommend Eddie. We will definitely be back next summer! read more

I was suspicious if it would truly work but it did! Our 2.5 year old learned to swim between parents, to the wall in the 2 weeks of classes. Plus with Eddie's tips/practice, he can now jump into the pool and swim all the way to the wall on his own. Disclaimer is that I have a fearless and super (maybe over) confident toddler but the repetition day after day makes a huge difference even though it's a short amount of time. I've tried weekly classes before and it's not even close to being as effective. Thanks, Eddie! read more

Eddie is an amazing and patient teacher. I sent my son and his two cousins (all between the ages of 2.5 to 3 years) to Eddie and all three of them could swim at the end of his classes! The first several days there were lots of tears and lots of fear, but by the end all three of them loved swimming with Eddie. The kids still even ask if they can go to Mr. Eddie's pool even though lessons are done. They are all pool safe - know what to do if they fall in the pool, and are able to swim from the steps to an adult. How he was able to teach three children under the age of 3 (in the same session) is a testament to his ability to handle young children and his knowledge as an instructor. Thank you, Eddie! We'll see you again when our next batch of kids is old enough to do swim lessons! read more

Eddie is the miracle worker of swim! I could not recommend him enough, he is so incredible. You can tell Eddie really loves what he does. Thank you, Eddie! read more

I was look for swim lessons for my 5 year old twin boys and was referred to Swim to Eddie in a FB group. Today was the last day of his 9 day program, and I can confidently say it was worth EVERY cent!! On day 1, my boys wouldn't even dunk their heads under water, but by the end of the session he got them to. It was so awesome to watch them progress. Eddie teaches with a firm yet patient manner, and his methods work. I'll continue using his methods as my boys practice on their own. I will likely sign up then in the future for technique lessons. My only regret is that I didn't sign them up sooner!! read more

Eddie is a GEM! He is definitely a swim whisperer. I can't thank him enough for teaching my 11 year old son how to swim and lose fear of going under water in just 2 days. A 9 day consecutive swimming class and Eddie had my son swimming and enjoying the water by the 2nd day. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Eddie. Finally, He is gentle, caring and patient with kids. Thank you! I truly cannot express enough how thankful I am for a swim instructor like Eddie. My son had a not so great experience at another swim school that left him with some apprehension to water on his face etc. From the first day at Eddie's, my son was already showing more comfort and excitement about being in the water. Eddie is SO patient, SO calm and is truly a gem. I am very sad that he is seemingly unwelcome currently in his own neighborhood. Eddie is running a business that saves lives, and is crucial to our community. If you fail to see the importance of that, in a private comfortable setting for young children, then you are the problem in my personal opinion. I hope that Eddie can continue his business as he has been and can continue creating a safe space for children to learn to love the water while also learning important skills to keep them safe. Thank you Eddie! We love you! read more

Eddie was incredible with my kids. They were both extremely nervous and cried non stop for the first few days (2 yo and 3.5 yo). He was so calm and was able to talk them through what they were going to do and have them do it. By the last session my 3.5 yo was a new kid in the pool and my 2 yo had life saving skills to get herself to the edge of the pool, giving us way more confidence having our kids in the pool this summer. We also loved that the last session included parents and he walked us through how to continue practicing in our own pool. Thank you so much, Eddie! read more

I enrolled my son this past summer at 5 years old, he developed a phobia of the water and had been going to water wings for about 5 months with no real progress. After just 5 days with coach Eddie he was no longer scared of the water and could swim about 10 feet! He could also go underwater/hold his breath etc. I'm so excited for him to go back and continue to grow! read more

Eddie is an outstanding instructor. I am so lucky we were able to get in late in the season. It is incredible how he was able to teach my 2 year old so fast, in the matter of days my son started understanding what to do. I appreciate his emphasis on safety and what to do in emergencies. His pool was also super clean and really warm. Thank you so much Eddie you are awesome read more

Over the year I received direct messages re: Swim To Eddie so I thought I'd update my review to include feedback 1yr post lessons with Eddie... Till this day they still ask about him and if they can swim with him, he certainly left a great impression on them...he was incredibly patient and kind. He's a father himself and a natural teacher. They still remember all of the techniques he taught them and they have gotten so good and confident in their skills that I don't worry that they'd panic and not know what to do in the pool. Lessons with Eddie were totally worth every penny! read more

Swim to Eddie is fantastic. He can take a kid that is screaming and crying the whole first day and by the end of the two weeks that kid is swimming. If you need someone to teach your kids to swim Eddie is your guy. read more

My 6 year old son gives these lessons a resounding 5 star review. My Kids loved jumping in the water, diving for gems, and learning new skills. I love that they're now much more water safe and have new-found swimming confidence. We'll probably do a refresher in the spring to brush up on our skills, but I'm more confident than ever in their ability to learn from here. I am so, so thankful for "coach Eddie" as my son calls him. My son loved him! Yes, he cried the first two days but after that, he grew to trust Coach Eddie and was fine the remainder of the days. Coach Eddie is so extremely patient and just has a way with children. My son would ask me everyday if he had class with Coach and he was sad when it was over. I am a widow and get very easily overwhelmed with teaching my son new things, not because I don't have patience but because I always thought I'd have my husband, his dad along for it all. Unfortunately he was taken away from us by cancer.i am so thankful for people like Eddie and Jessica who can provide a service and make things easy for us as parents. Jessica made scheduling super duper easy and Coach Eddie made the lessons super fun. Now we just practice at home and I am hoping my sons skills will continue to grow with practice. When we attended classes there was never any traffic on the street nor was it packed with cars. When we left class each day and the next students were already waiting by the pool, the street was still not packed. We went and left quickly and quietly as we were trying to be mindful of everyone. I highly recommend Swim to Eddie!!! read more
