We can't say enough good things about Eddie!!! Our three kids just finished his 9 day course and I am amazed with the results. My oldest is almost 6 and prior to his class she was able to swim around the pool and was water safe, but she was mostly just using doggy paddle to get around. Eddie worked with her to use proper technique and now she knows several swim strokes, swim across the pool while coming up to take occasionally breaths, and she can now dive to the bottom of the pool and retrieve toys. She was so sad when her 9 days came to an end because she wanted to keep swimming with Eddie. Her direct quote was "I love Eddie! He is the best teacher ever!" I also have 3.5 year old twins that were not able to swim at all prior to their time with Eddie (without puddle jumper floaties). We now have a swimming 3 year old thanks to "Teacher Eddie" (what my son likes to call him)! I could not recommend Swim To Eddie more highly! Of course at first we had to deal with the pool scaries, (the screaming and the tears) but that part only lasted for the first 2 or 3 days, and the rest was smooth sailing. Eddie is one of the best instructors I have ever met, and I have been in the fitness industry for over 7 years. His patience, persistence, and professionalism really shows when he works with his students. No matter what experience, age or limitation a student might have, he will find a way to teach them how to be safe in the water. In addition, no matter how difficult a student might be at the time, he never lost his cool, not once. Here's a little breakdown of our experience. Day 1 - crying and wanting to get out Day 2 - did not want to go back to swim lessons because she was scared. When we got there, more crying and wanting to go home Day 3 - WE HAVE A SWIMMER Day 4 - our daughter was excited to go to swim lessons Day 5 - after a long weekend our daughter was scared to go back, but once in the pool all that fear disappeared. Day 6-9 - she loved it and really got the hang of kicking and using her arms. She even jumped in and swam to the other side of the pool, multiple times. In the beginning it can be a very difficult experience as a parent, especially knowing how dangerous water can be. When you see your kid crying and wanting to stop our paternal instinct wants us to run over there and make them feel better. A couple pieces of advice if it is your first time bringing your child to swim lessons. 1. Trust the process. Eddie knows what he is doing and will make sure his students are safe. 2. Try not to be a helicopter parent. This is very difficult but very important. I can't say I didn't give a few pointers from the sideline, it's just a habit from teaching my kid other things. But it takes away from the child's learning experience and takes their attention away from Eddie. 3. Always cheer and encourage, even if they are crying. Eddie is a MAGICIAN!! I signed my son up for Swim to Eddie after having a terrible experience with my 3 year old at another swim school. Prior to the other lessons, my son loved the water but after 6 weeks of 2x per week lessons at the other swim school (that were super expensive) my son was completely traumatized and wouldn't go near a pool. Eddie is amazing! We absolutely recommend Swim to Eddie! Our daughter (Gracyn) had her lessons with Eddie in the beginning of June 2020. We weren't sure what to expect since she never had lessons before and had just turned 3 at the end of May. She has always loved the water and was very confident swimming with her puddle jumper. She loved going to her lessons every day and cried when it was time to leave. Eddie is an amazing teacher and challenged Gracyn in such appropriate ways. He's incredibly patient and great at reading each kid to gauge what they need, how hard he can push them and more importantly, when they need a break. We weren't sure about the dynamic of her being with two other kids during her lesson (different ages, ability levels, etc.), but Eddie's structure truly works. Sharing a 30 minute lesson with two other kids seemed like it would be hard to get focused time. However, that wasn't the case at all. And once we saw it in action, it made so much sense. Also, once Eddie recognized that Gracyn was learning and progressing faster than the other kids in her lesson, he was great at making adjustments to continue teaching her skills at the rate she was learning. Eddie is an amazing and patient teacher. I sent my son and his two cousins (all between the ages of 2.5 to 3 years) to Eddie and all three of them could swim at the end of his classes! The first several days there were lots of tears and lots of fear, but by the end all three of them loved swimming with Eddie. I was look for swim lessons for my 5 year old twin boys and was referred to Swim to Eddie in a FB group. Today was the last day of his 9 day program, and I can confidently say it was worth EVERY cent!! On day 1, my boys wouldn't even dunk their heads under water, but by the end of the session he got them to. It was so awesome to watch them progress. Eddie was incredible with my kids. They were both extremely nervous and cried non stop for the first few days (2 yo and 3.5 yo). He was so calm and was able to talk them through what they were going to do and have them do it. I am so, so thankful for "coach Eddie" as my son calls him. My son loved him! Yes, he cried the first two days but after that, he grew to trust Coach Eddie and was fine the remainder of the days. My boys ages 4 & 2.5 took the class and they are now confident in the pool and can swim about 5ft underwater on their own and they are practicing grabbing gems from the bottom of the pool in the shallow end. Coach Eddie is an amazing swim instructor. After years of wasting money on swim lessons at big facilities, and with no progression with my daughter in her swimming, I started to venture out. Coach Eddie is known in our Simi Valley community as being the best and I want the best for my daughter. Our 4 year old completed Eddie's course in April and we are so pleased with the entire experience and results!
