I tried the Cupcake Latte and wow it was to die for. Seriously one of the best specialty lattes I've had. The girl at the front was incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The location is a bit hidden and parking can be tricky, but it's absolutely worth the effort once you find it. SweetGem Cupcakes has become my little hidden gem! I work in the area and have tried many coffee shops in the area but this has by far been my favorite specialty coffee!! The place is small and cute and they don't have a lot of marketing for their coffees but trust me they are just as delicious as their treats. The brown sugar shaken espresso was delicious and I think i can drink it in one sip from how good it is. I've been treating myself once a week to visiting for a specialty coffee and I have yet to be disappointed. The young girl that makes the coffee has been nothing but a sweetheart that puts thought and attention to each coffee cup. If you're in the area definitely give them a visit. read more

I've always been satisfied with commercial cupcakes from places like Costco and Publix. However, I didn't know what I was missing out on until I had SweetGem Cupcakes. The buttercream was absolutely delicious and the cake itself was moist and unlike any other cupcake I've ever had. I purchased the red velvet, dulce de leche, cookies and cream, and piña colada. At the risk of sounding utterly cheesy, after I got home, the first flavor I tried was the red velvet. I have to say, after that first bite it was like that ending scene in ratatouille where the food critic was transported back to mom's cooking and was absolutely delighted. My mother used to make me red velvet for my birthday and in between that time and now I've had many red velvets. But I have to say, it's something special when an experience like enjoying a sweet triggers wonderful memories of childhood. And this was the red velvet that did it. Anyways, the sweets were excellent, the service was very friendly, and it's a cute and cozy hole in the wall. I especially enjoyed having the cupcakes the same day I had bought them. I had two in the fridge for another day but I think I would've enjoyed it more the day it was made. Still very tasty and above average. Had a taste for something sweet and didn't feel like driving to Nothing Bundt Cakes. So I did a quick Yelp search. To my luck this place is literally right across from my house and I pass it often. I quickly read the reviews and decided that I'd give them a try once I got off. I didn't know they were doing curbside, so I'd initially walked up to the door. I placed my order and she gave me my cupcakes right then. Everyone talked about the pina colada cupcake, so I decided to get two of them. That's how big my sweet craving was. I couldn't wait to finish eating dinner so I that I could indulge in my cupcake. The icing was good. It wasn't over powering with sweetness and I loved the touch of the coconut flakes on the top. I love coconut. As for the cupcake itself, I wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong it was good but it tasted nothing like pineapple which it is advertised as a pineapple cake. If I hadn't seen it for myself, I could've sworn that I was given two vanilla cupcakes because that's what it tasted like. I kind of wish I would've just went to NBC and got my lemon cake. Cupcakes were old and the box had ants in it. I tried 2 flavors and after tasting each I saw the ants in the box.

We were driving along and spotted flags advertising cupcakes. We got excited because there aren't bakeries in the area. I quickly looked them up on and was blown away with how beautiful the shop looked and the food looked yummy. I quickly turned around and headed to the store. The shop looked exactly as pictured. They offered some great flavor combinations. We decided to share a chocolate cupcake with nutella frosting because we've been disappointed by other shops in the past. The cupcake was very moist and had the perfect chocolate flavor. The icing was amazing. Not overly sweet but packed with flavor. Before leaving we purchased a box to go. I always try to support small businesses but this time this place went to far and I realize that it's not possible because they abuse with prices. here at this place I bought 36 MINI cupcakes and paid $75, you are going to tell me that $2.05 vanilla and 2.50 chocolate plus tax is a reasonable price, I know the inflation is terrible and price when up and bla bla I understand but that is a ridiculous price, My fault for having accepted that price but for sure I will never go back . I'm giving 3 stars because I really do appreciate the communication, and of course NO ONE expects having to all of a sudden go into the emergency room and for that, I completely understand things changing all of a sudden especially when one's health is on the line. However, I called very much in advance of requesting this cake, 2 days ago, and the invoice indicated it would have been ready for pickup today by 3pm. My birthday party is tomorrow. I received a call this morning of course letting me know that she would no longer be able to make the cake. I'm just a little frustrated because not only was I super excited to try a cake from this place, but I also thought the cakes would have been made in advance and not the day of, or at least started and then finished up the day of pickup or something like that. So while I again, cannot be mad because she had to rush to the emergency room (I truly genuinely hope she is okay and will feel better!) now I'm left a day before my birthday trying to rush to find another bakery that will make my cake the same day since most shops close Sundays. Just a bit stressed out and frustrated. At least I'm getting my money refunded so worst case scenario, I'll just buy a cake from Publix or something. :/ definitely not the position I wanted to be in, but it is what it is! I found this store in Yelp. I was looking for a place that make individually wrapped cupcake for a drive thru bday. Jessica worked with me to find a solution in a very short time.
