They have a good selection of fruits but can improve on produce and the frozen section. To my surprise they used to have Indian groceries in stock but can't find it anymore! The deli section looks good. One thing which needs to be improved is their milk section. I've always experienced the milk being spoilt before the expiry date and hence had to stop buying it from this place, apart from that the products are good but once again they need to be diversified!

The outside looked like an old fashioned deli/grocery with tables/stands outside for fruit and flowers. However, once you step inside you see a deli that looks like one of the nicer ones you'd come across in Manhattan's West Village. Based on the other reviews I've read below, it seems like this space has been renovated recently. The buffet table I've seen mentioned is no longer there. The shelves look new(ish) and the items on shelves are very organized. On top of that, the selection is impressive. There was an entire section of hot sauces including Siracha. On another shelf were some fancy low sugar bags of granola (that cost $13.99 *each*). It is a bit cramped when you navigate the aisles, but it I didn't knock anything over by accident so it's not bad. I snagged a bottle of water and was thrilled when the cashier told me it was only $1. I'm so used to going to Target or Shop Rite and having to pay $2 something for a water. It was cool to see even if Natural and Plus sells fancier stuff, not all their prices are high. I'd happily go back to Natural and Plus to grab a drink (and maybe some fresh cut fruit). Check it out if you're in the area!

Cans and boxed goods a bit more expensive reminds me of Morton Williams in JC, but you get that for the convenience, I suppose. Not a lot of deals like at ShopRite, but the produce is reasonable ($1.50/lb for Fuji apples, for instance, was fairly reasonable). I'm not 100% sure what specialty items differ from other local grocers, but they do have a limited meat/deli area, some cupcakes/dessert and an aisle of some sauces and ethnic foods. Eggs were pretty expensive, though -- moreso than I've seen at Shoprite or Wegmans.

Urban Market fits in well as many of the locals will be here for the impressively-fresh produce, grab and go items, some unique specialty foods, and whatever else they may need. A drawback is that it doesn't appear to be the full-service (deli, seafood, butcher etc.) spot that Shop Rite is, and some products are pricey (not all, such as the reasonable pricing of produce). I think if you live close by, you'll enjoy Urban Market a lot and shop often. I think the farther away you are, the appealing nature dips a bit.

Giant Farm is the perfect place to get local produce for cheap. Fresh and diverse selection without…read morethe inflated supermarket price. I'm almost positive the owners are Hispanic and Asian; you can find tofu and daikon in the same aisle as cilantro and spanish onions. It may seem random, but it's really convenient. They also have a selection of fresh nuts still in the shell as well as shelled pre-weighed ones for WAY less than you can find at the grocery store. Here's a normal shopping list for me: Loose carrots - $0.69 / lb Yellow onions - $0.59 / lb Red peppers - $0.69 / lb Garlic - $1.00 / lb Limes - 5 for $1 Rome apples - $0.99 / lb Broccoli - $1.29 per bunch Bananas - $0.49 / lb Strawberries (in season) - $1 / 1lb box Pre-shelled almonds - $3.70 for 1/2 lb Obviously they have other things, but those are the kinds of prices you're getting. Awesome in my book, especially for NJ and especially compared to places like Shop-Rite or Pathmark. The people are always really nice and speak Spanish predominantly, but you can definitely get your way around it if you're Americano. Also, they have spices (random ones like Curry Powder and Chamomile Flowers but mostly the basics like Garlic Powder, Cumin, etc.) all for $1.29. The one downfall to this place is that they sell normal grocery store items like cereal, peanut butter, soda, and a lot of Goya beans, rice, oil, etc. at extremely inflated prices. I'd imagine because they have to pay more to keep it on the shelves. If you need to get prepackaged things or are doing "stock up your pantry" shopping, go to Shop-Rite or Pathmark. Other than that, Giant Farm is a giant win.

Their shelf stable section is definitely the best part of the store and they have a huge selection. They could do better with more groceries and more frozen goods but I do understand that the demand of that may not be too high. The little restaurant in the store ia great and makes one of the best samosa's. Their prices are a bit high but that is the cost of convenience. I stopped by craving a samosa and decided to order both samosa and dabeli. While I was waiting, I asked the person at the counter if the samosas were fresh, and he said yes. They quickly packed them up, and I didn't think much of it at the time. I did notice the dabeli being assembled fresh, though it was made on sesame buns (looked like regular grocery store buns), which already felt off for anyone who knows how a dabeli is made. What really threw me off was seeing a tray of frozen Deep samosas being pulled out to heat up. I asked again about freshness and got a confusing explanation about how they're made fresh and then send it to Deep to be frozen, which didn't quite add up. At that point, I was honestly frustrated and quite irriated about the lies, but chose to just take the order and leave. I can't speak for everything on the menu, but the samosas are definitely not freshly made. They're also quite small for the price, and the dabeli felt overpriced for what it was. If you're looking for truly fresh snacks, it's worth being a bit mindful about what you order here.
