I don't normally write reviews, but I feel this experience needs to be shared. I recently started…read morebringing my 7 month old puppy to daycare. Like most puppies, he's full of energy and excited to play. He was scheduled for a half day with a bath before pickup, but due to a change in my schedule, I called around noon to request that he stay for a full day. The staff member I spoke with asked if I wanted him to go back outside with the other dogs or be placed in a separate room to avoid getting dirty again. I clearly stated that I wanted him to return to daycare for more playtime, and that I didn't mind if he got dirty. However, when my boyfriend picked him up, we learned that he had instead been left alone in a room for nearly six hours without going outside or having access go to the bathroom. This is extremely concerning. Not only was my request disregarded, but my puppy was also neglected during his time there. Like many dog owners, my puppy is a beloved part of my family, and I trusted this facility to provide safe care. Unfortunately, that trust was broken. I hope this feedback encourages the staff to take better accountability moving forward, so that no other pet has to experience the same.

I am always nervous to leave him during the summer months due his storm anxiety but they really do go above and beyond to care for Moseley. I truly feel like they have genuine concern for him when he is having a hard time. They always keep me consistently updated-not just with the adorable report cards-but with personal phone calls too. I am so grateful to have boarding I can depend on when we travel.

Such an incredible facility with an amazing staff. We won't use any other kennel again. They explain everything and provide a tour of the facility. They have an incredible training reputation as evidenced with all the awards on the walls in the office. The website provides a historical overview of the training they've done. Highly recommend this place to take care of your dogs. They took great care of ours.

He came with some bad habits especially while on the leash. Our Veterinarian recommended Bill Mattis at River Ridge Kennels. After we talked to Bill on the phone we enrolled Teddy in the six week obedience training course. And what a blessing! We found their prices very reasonable and the training was excellent. There were six dogs in our class and each dog had their own set of issues and personalities. The love, respect and compassion Bill showed our pets was nothing short of amazing. Well, Teddy passed with flying colors and my wife and I did as well. Bill and staff come with many years of experience and I can't give enough praise to Bill as he is the consummate professional when it comes to training dogs AND their owners. We highly recommend River Ridge Kennels and Bill Mattis.

We'll they said yes, so I trusted them and left her. She was no where near what she was supposed to look like when I picked her up. There were parts of her that weren't even cut. We had to bring her back to get cut again, but she never looked like she was supposed to. Fast forward to this past week. I decided to give them another chance, and took our 13 year old miniature schnauzer. My wife let the staff know that she was old, didn't see or hear too well, and moves alot. She was quoted 53.00. Later that afternoon I received a call that her beard was very matted and needed to be shaved off. I agreed. Now when I went to pick her up, I was charged 85.00 and told it was because hercoat was matted. They gave me back a completely shaved dog. Nowhere resembling a schnauzer. Not once did anyone call me and say it was going to cost more, or that she was being completely shaved. Needless to say, I will not bring any of my dogs back there, and I would never recommend them to anyone I know. I find the fact that they can change the price and not tell you , and that you pay before even seeing the pet a problem. They stated that my 10lb, 13 year old dog that barely has teeth was a danger to them, and so there was a charge for that too. They charged an extra charge to grind her nails, because they were black nails. Do your due diligence, and maybe go to a more established groomer.

Then a walk out of the room and a return. No eye contact while the forced, minimalistic conversation took place. Apparently they have a procedure where they have you weigh your own pet in the lobby and you tell them your dogs weight? If you don't understand this going in, prepare to get attitude. Then they start the procedure with your dog without a conversation (without you in the room) and then take you to a room with the dog. It's not exactly clean. I mean the floors are free from debris and the counters free from clutter but it isn't newly scrubbed and smells like what you would expect of a pet hospital. Dingy. Dingy. Dingy. Your office doesn't need to be brand new but this isn't what I think is acceptable. I'd like to speak for the care but I didn't witness any of it so I can't tell you? For all of these things; the attitude, the lack of explanation, the lack of friendly proactive interaction and non communicative behavior I take away all your stars. BUT the vet was nice and did her job. Took a second to explain a couple things and kind of answered a question. So 3 stars back. When we paid, "Thank you. Y'all have a nice day." Too little too late ladies. The woman who brought cookies was greeted with a smile and friendly banter. Maybe they are as food driven as their customers. Wilmington Animal Healthcare is a little further but it's SUPER CLEAN and they do a lot of the things with you in the room so you can be with your baby or ask questions. They are super accommodating to any needs you might have. They will talk to you until you are satisfied. They take time to love your pet and get to know them. They take time to get to know you. It's worth the drive.
