The absolutely best cake and buttercream frosting I have ever tasted! We dropped in hoping for coffee and ended up eating a slice of heaven!

This place is the heart of Matlacha. It's a central meeting place for locals, visitors and…read moresnowbirds alike. Staff is incredibly kind, compassionate and courteous. The food is fun, because there's a little something for everyone. Yet the staff is kind, thoughtful and relaxed enough to make accommodations. That's rare these days. Parking may be tight, but it would be silly to rely on your car in Matlacha. There is a gorgeous park nearby with a large pier and plenty of parking. From there, the Perfect Cup is a short walk and ideal mental reset to transport anyone that visits Matlacha into the prophetic and elusive "Island Time." The bubbly and enlivening environment is enough to recharge you for a play day in Matlacha. It is inspiring to see how much this small community of even smaller business manage to survive and thrive all along a 1000' strip of delightfully walkable roadway. I encourage everyone to take advantage of the honor and privilege it is to walk through the doors of places still standing in Matlacha.

I want to share my deep disappointment regarding my experience at your restaurant. We waited over…read morean hour to be seated, only to watch multiple parties of two walk in and be seated within 15 minutes, while our party of three was ignored. In my opinion , a well-managed restaurant would offer to accommodate a party at a smaller table or provide updates to improve the situation. Furthermore, my husband is handicapped, and while we were not seeking special treatment or free items, it was upsetting to see our place in line disregarded so blatantly while other tables were prioritized ahead of us. While the food was acceptable, it did not justify the long wait or the unfair seating system. I hope you take this feedback seriously to ensure other guests do not have a similar experience. I won't recommend anyone to this restaurant and one of your signs says what happens here we talk all week! I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT WHAT HAPPENED THERE WE WILL TALK ABOUT IT FOR A LONG TIME, AND MANY OTHERS WILL READ IT!!!

Today was a super gloomy day and it almost looked like it was going to snow lol! Dave suggested…read morethat we head out to Matlacha and Pine Island and have a late breakfast at the Pine Island Getaway Cafe. Great idea! We love supporting our local community as it is still recovering from Hurricane Ian. We crossed the bridge towards St. James City and towards the Cafe. It was bustling and it looks like a lot of snow birds have found this hidden gem. Everything is homemade and baked there. We ordered our usual- Scrambled eggs piled high on a Croissant with bacon and cheese. A delicious crispy concoction that keeps us coming back! Not to mention the fresh ground coffee and the little patio outside overlooking a peaceful lake. We ate our sandwiches outside in the cool beautiful breezy weather. The sandwich is so yummy and you need a fork and knife to cut through the delicate croissant. Then off we go to our favorite little Publix on Pine Island to grocery shop. A lovely way to begin our day!

We tried the almond croissant, coffee éclair, gyro sandwich, a Cuban coffee, and a café olé -- everything was fresh and flavorful. So the other day, I finally got to go here. Been trying for months, but it was either closed for…read moretheir day off or too many cars parked and had no parking. I ordered the French onion soup and it was very good. Hubby ordered the devilled eggs with bacon pieces in them. Again very good, he even likes them better than mine. (Which is his mother's recipe BTW) I told him I will try to make them the restaurants way. I ordered the chicken on a croissant and bechamel sauce with the greens. I would have liked the greens separate from my meal, cause it made them a little soggy, but overall they were very good. Hubby ordered a bacon & chicken meal in a sauce with mashed potatoes. Absolutely loved this! Wish we had more sauce on it, it was soooo good. I did get an eclair to go and it was really good also. Bottom line, I will be coming back here, I would love to try a quiche. My request is that they put vichyssoise on the menu. I sure love me a cold potato soup.

The French toast is so subtle on French bread but it's delicious! The owners are so kind and caring. They offer cooking classes at night. They work so hard it's just them two.
