What a brilliant name for a shop! Fitness isn't always the top of everyone's fun agenda; running and other vigorous exercise tends to make me look like a sweaty disabled asthmatic, and it made me smile to see a sportswear shop with such an apt name.
There were no smiles when I discovered the prices though. Stocking a painfully expensive range of performance enhancing active wear for affluent and active ladies, Sweaty Betty knows her stuff.
She's got 'sweat wicking performance tops' and 'anti-bacterial running socks', and for £50 you can invest in 'slimming leggings', which apparently reduce your hips and thighs within 18 days.
You do, however, need to wear them for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week throughout a 3 week period, which may make it more apparent where Betty gets her name from.
If you're into your fitness and are able to splash the cash a bit, you can indulge in a £40 athlete top, or £69 for a pair of bootleg gym pants complete with a coolmax gusset (?). The water bottles aren't kind on the bank balance either, at a whopping £15.
