I must say their shoes shipped quick! I am a US buyer, being that fly london is not a US based shoe…read morestore and cost more in the US, I took a chance on buying from this business. What do you know, the shoes were a tad bit too big, so I needed to return. This is my personal opinion, I am not sure of what type of shoe business this is in the UK, but it is definitely not customer service friendly to US folks. no return policy as far as returns you on your own.  I paid for shipping and I know I also received a discount. The shoes in the US are a little pricey here, so I saved ordering from them, but boy when I went to UPS to ask about returning they wanted over $200 to ship back, USPS charged me about $49 to ship back and that was the cheapest and slowest route  I could get. The shoes arrived back to them  really quick as I got my refund of 106.00 back so i lost out, because i originally paid 131.78. Sad to say for the hassle i wish i would have just bought in the US and paid the extra because in the end I have NO shoes!!!! I am too scared now to order from them again. It's throwing away free money. It would have been nice if they had a return direct even if you were told up front that there was a flat fee return of lets say 25.00, but I think for the future unless I know for sure about the shoe, I am going to pass on doing business with Daniel footwear. I am not into tossing my hard earned money away!

Daniel Footwear is an upmarket shoe shop in Hyndland. It's a great addition to the high-end clothes…read moreshops on Hyndland Road - and is great for a browse even if you don't have £100+ to spend on a pair of shoes. They stock mainly women's shoes, but you'll find a good selection of men's shoes in there too. As for brands - you'll find a large selection of Ugg boots (for women and children, if only the baby pink ones came in my size...) as well as Daniel Footwear's own brand you'll also find shoes from Prada, Lulu Guinness, Missoni, G-Star, Juicy Couture and countless others. To be honest, it's worth making a trip to Daniel Footwear JUST for their great selection of Lulu Guinness bags. Heavenly! They also have a sale on at the moment, and many of their shoes are slashed to half price. Definitely worth a bit of a gander.

My first ever memory of this shop, is being dragged in at a tender young age, and being told on no…read moreuncertain terms was I to touch. Anything. Yes, I could see that my love of all things shiny, my lack of hand eye coordination and the beautifully displayed shoes (always at a jaunty angle!?) would never be a match made in heaven, and by that, I am saddened. Especially in here. They have beautifully designed shoes - all nice and slightly designeresq - adorning the walls and the racks. Lovely shoes from Italy - no cheap and cheerful here I'm afraid. Alas, but now I'm older, not as clumsy, and I have worked out how the shoes at the jaunty angles are displyed (heel first. always heel first!). A part of me is still ever so slightly scared that my hand is going to be slapped away from the beautiful black Gabor peep toe patent numbers... Fashion you can afford? Only if you've got the wallet to match.

Let me start this review with a strong statement; I love shoes. Love love love shoes…read more And so why did it take me nearly six months of passing Sandalwood to actually go in? Erm, because I actually wasn't very excited about it (and trust me, that isn't normal). The shoes in the window all seem pretty funny looking actually. They have a couple of big names like MBT (that's dodgy looking trainers to you and me) and a large selection of heels and boots. And now that I've been in this shop? Do I still maintain that their shoes are "funny looking?" Well yes - I do. I don't think I've ever gone in a shoe shop and not wanted to buy something, but then I suppose there's a first time for everything. Besides this, the staff were snooty and ignored me, and the prices are a little bit higher than anyone in their right mind would want to pay. They do seem to have a permanent sale on though, so if you do have a penchant for funny looking shoes then you're probably in luck.

Since I don't have any children I don't tend to frequent kids shops but visited for the first time…read moretoday in the hope I'd get my wee cousin a present. I've got to admit, the only reason I noticed this shop initially was due to the odd name...I understand that a carpet monkey is a crawling toddler but it sounds like it's trying too hard to be cool. No? I mean, who calls their kids "carpet monkeys"? How patronising! Odd choice of name aside, upon entering this shop today I felt like I was entering someone's very swanky living room! It was weird. I guess if the decor didn't evidently cost hundreds upon hundreds of pounds you could feel a little at home. If you're a yummy mummy. But I digress... The staff were friendly and there were toys to keep kids entertained. But it almost felt like, should your child perhaps make a spot of mess on the carpet, they would frogmarch you out the store! The place looked so expensive it was overbearing! And I almost had a heart attack when I looked at the shoes. 99 quid for baby boots? Are they having a laugh? Not only that, the majority of the shoes were repulsive. To me, anyway. I mean, if I was Katie Price and wanted to tart my baby up to look like she's 25, maybe. Gross. I can't even remember some of the designer brands they had on offer but I do remember the majority of the shoes being priced in at over 50 quid. They weren't all trussed up to look like boots for adults, thank God, but even the simpler, more fittingly childlike brands were pretty pricey. They had some cute knitted hats but really, for their cost just knit your own bonnet. It'd only take an hour! This shop may be suited for some mothers and dedicated followers of fashion but, should I ever become a mum, it wouldn't style my kid like that. What's the point in paying 100 pounds for wee bootsies your little munchkin will grow out of in a month? Why make your toddler look tacky? Why buy boots you will never feasibly let your kid wear? You could buy a 3 piece suite from the Sally Army for the same price these items cost. I always reiterate when the staff were nice and they were helpful, the concept's just not for me. I'm a firm believer children should be allowed to be children and, on sight of these naff prices, can only imagine this shop is geared towards the type of parents who really don't want their kids to get messy - they might ruin the carpet, after all.

Currently, Carpet Monkeys is a bit useless as a shop for me. I don't have any children but when my…read morecousins were born I was in here looking for some of those extra cute little shoes that little feet need. Carpet Monkeys have plenty, they are a quite private little shop that is as it seems meant for those of us who have a lot of money to spend, and an extremely high expectation in what a shop can offer you. The interior is very upper class, and by that I mean it is perfect. You can actually buy shoes here from birth till 16 years old, which means they have alot of stuff, and although everything is branded and designer, I did not know some of the names. Those I did know were brands such as Converse and Moschino. Some are pretty cool and I would buy them if I had enough money to do that one day, maybe. However I get the eerie feeling that it is a footballers wife with the big four x four jeep parked out side sort of place. Having said that, all the shoes are shipped in from the best manufacturers in the world, the owner Fiona tells me they can come from as far as Italy or America. The shoes here are definitely stylish and they are definitely expensive.
