I agree with other comments that if you don't have a huge project needing done McDaniel's does not…read morewant to be bothered. In October 2025, we chose to remodel our bathroom. We chose McDaniel's because we prefer to support local when possible, and we felt we would receive more personal and professional care from them than from a big box store. Nicole R. (our designer, who was more of a salesperson than a designer) was a total disappointment. Her communication skills were almost non-existent. We were often waiting days to weeks (even with reminders) for her to return a call or an email. When she chose to communicate, she was abrupt, condescending, scattered in her thoughts, and made promises to appease us, but later nothing came of her promises. It is now April and the project is still not completed. We had to pay $100 before McDaniel's would measure the area. Nicole did not accurately measure the height of the vanity and the length and height of the side-splash resulting in me either not using the side-splash or paying to have the new drywall cut into in order to move the electrical up. On February 5th I sent Nicole a picture of the error and she said she "would be out ASAP." Later that day she emailed that she would be out March 9th. Upon sharing my concerns about the length of the side splash Nicole explained that it was customary to measure the side splash longer than needed and the construction people would cut or grind it to the correct size. I cannot imagine all contractors have the tools to do this. As far as the electrical outlet placement and the height of the side splash is concerned Nicole agreed it was not acceptable and offered cutting it to 1" in height. I told her that was not acceptable and that I wanted the electrical moved up. She agreed if it was her house that is what she would want done and said she would immediately get with their construction person. Not ours, theirs, since it was her mistake. I waited another three weeks and two days to be contacted by him, all the while reminding Nicole every week that we needed closure. On March 24th Eric from Granite Construction called. He said he would have someone out that afternoon and was going to email me a work order for my signature. I waited approximately 30 minutes but rather than the work order I received the name of an electrician and told that I would have to pay for the repair. In total frustration I contacted the owner/manager of McDaniels, Don Jessup. He said he agreed with some of my points (many are not mentioned here) but since we used our own contractors, McDaniel's is not accountable. (Their contractors wanted $16,332 for a small, typical bathroom.). He offered to refund the side splash and six vanity handles (that I paid $90 for but never ordered), but since then he has chosen not to answer my emails about how I need to go about the return, paperwork, etc. At this point I feel I have given McDaniel's every opportunity to make things right before posting this review. I am hoping to save others the unprofessionalism and lack of respect I received. As of April 6th (today) I have not received any communication from Nicole regarding whether the electrical problem has been resolved, asking me if I was pleased with how the bathroom turned out, or thanking me for my business. Nothing from Don Jessup either.

Owen Russell, will scam you out of your money. I've paid for services/work and NEVER received them. Don't just don't. Owen Russell, won't even hesitate to scam people. Even seniors. He's done it to * 4 senior clients as I know of - me being one of them. He asks for 70% up front and continuously harass for more money because they "need more supplies", "change orders", or the "tariffs are making things more expensive". *I updated to 4 seniors because I forgot one. They have NOT completed ONE project at my home. It's been over two years!! When we brought it up to him or showed the work that needs to be done and/or corrected, he would say "We'll come back to that and put it on a punch list" I gave him more than ample opportunities to make this right. He didn't step up to the plate. Don't you think 2.5 years is more than enough time? He KNEW this was money for my retirement/retirement home. At one point I mentioned to him I only have XXXX amount of money left. Later on he mentioned to me "You said you have XXXX", like he was saying "you said you have more money to spend why are you questioning things" Won't provide invoices and change order. One time he did give me a change order and said "Thee are items we've already done work on and I'm now giving you the change order". I looked on the change order and 3/4 of the line items weren't done. I brought it to his attention and he didn't have an answer for it. Won't return calls, emails or any communication. I had four construction companies and four separate inspections (eight different companies) come in to assess the work and review the pricing. They GROSSLY OVERCHARGE. After the first four inspections, Owen said he would get his own inspector. That never happened. We continually asked when will his inspector come. He ignored us. Their company damaged one of my antiques. He PROMISED he would pay for the repair. Did that happen, no. He doesn't respond to me. I've emailed, text, called, and sent certified mail and still nothing. Now he doesn't accept the certified mail and it's returned to me. I sent the mail to his office and his home. Owen has refused to speak with any of his disgruntled clients. Incomplete work and poor quality. There are at least five clients which I know of. One client has been waiting for 5 years to have her bathroom completed. Yes, you read that right..... 5 YEARS!!! Owen installed a shower glass door incorrectly. He told her he would research more info and return. He never did. The bathroom is still not done! This woman is a senior. Look at the review below from Sarah. They left construction trash all over my yard. It's not paper or small pieces otherwise I would have cleaned it up myself. They're large pieces of wood, aluminum sheets, a tool box that goes inside of a truck (It's Owen's old truck tool box. He left it here after he bought a new truck with a new tool box) , my old cabinets, my old stove, other appliances and more. My garage is completely full with their mess!!! We've asked them several times to clean it out. They didn't clean it but charged us for a dumpster. It was $5,000 for them putting some trash in their trailer and justified the dumpster price. Owen will lie with a straight face. I specifically asked I want 6 inch gutters. He told me it doesn't come in 6 inches. Comes to find out, he didn't have the machinery to make that size, only 5 inches. Instead of installing gutter guards, as I originally requested, he told my fiance that I requested for the sponge type so thats why those are installed. When I confronted him, he said he would replace them with gutter guards. To this day, it's still not done. My room extensions are just studs (and the incorrect size. It should have been 2 x 6. He used 2 x 4). The electricals are just hanging out, no insulation nothing. The primary bathroom doesn't have a vanity, sink or faucet. There are SOOOOO many other things that aren't completed. I'm not talking about poor quality. It's not completed. Not able to use the rooms. A zipwall was installed and wasn't taped down all the way. I tripped and I thought I twisted my ankle. After going to the podiatrist and getting an xray, my fibula was broken. Was told I was lucky it set itself cleanly. When mentioned it to him, he chuckled like "oh damn". He now has disconnected his office number and took down his website. Also look on Google reviews. I haven't even addressed the other 90% of what's wrong.
