I recently purchased a new house, and I loathed the custom interior dated faux-finish paint that covered every inch of the walls. I found Swanson Painting here on Yelp and called based on the glowing reviews of his past clients. It turned out to be a smart decision. Contractors can always be hit or miss, but Vic is the ideal person you want to manage your painting project. Vic is polite, friendly, tidy, smart, punctual and a true man of his word. The job at my house turned out to take one more day than he'd originally bid, but he didn't increase the final price due to that. I chose Swanson to paint the exterior of my home because the owner, Vic Swanson, promised to be on site much of the time, which I thought was important. He was also willing to work with me on the price. A four-man crew worked on my house for five days. When Vic wasn't present, his foreman, Alfredo, led the crew very well. They did a good job prepping, which included repairing and patching stucco; scraping, sanding and repairing fascia, shutters, doors, windows; fixing the putty around many small French window panes and replacing a rotted two by four in a long patio bench. They also did an excellent job removing old ivy remnants from the North side of the house. Vic sprayed the house himself on day four. The fifth day was for finishing trim and clean-up. There are nearly 200 small French window panes in my house. To paint these by hand would have required more days and cost more money. Vic had, what to me, was a novel solution. He covered each large multipaned window with paper sprayed with a lightly adhesive sealant, cut out the parts to be painted, spray painted the whole window, then, when dry, removed the paper. The result was a very smooth uniform look in a fraction of the time hand painting would have taken. If you opt for this technique note that someone will need to clean the windows afterwards. When the job was completed, we noticed a few details that were missed. Vic quickly sent Alfredo over to take care of them. I am pleased with the paint job, the reasonable price and the professionalism and ease of working with Vic and his crew.
