Pleasantly surprised by how delicious a lunch was here a few Fridays ago. Vaxholm was very crowded - in the middle of the summer vacation months - but we were able to get a table outside anyhow as we went later on after the big lunch crowd.
This restaurant really seems to emphasize organic and local ingredients and producers, which is great!
There were plenty of options to choose from the a la carte menu for lunch - we were told the only option available for lunch from the lunch menu was fried herring.
I had a "healthy plate" (hälsotallrik) with tofu -- a mix of cold and warm vegetables, like a red cabbage salad, lettuce, hummus, pan fried tofu and broccoli, and lots of seeds. So delicious and filling!
The only bad thing was that service was horribly slow and haphazard, even as we were at the later end of lunch and not too busy and crowded. I noted other tables having to get up to get cutlery and water on the tables for themselves.. read more
