We found Sue from a preferred vendor list provided by our wedding venue, The Crossings at Carlsbad. After looking at her work/reviews online, it was an easy decision to hire her! We communicated a lot via email since I lived out of state, and then got to meet once in person to finalize our wishes for the day, look at pictures, etc. As I was looking through photo books of her work, I saw a friend of mine in there, whose wedding I attended. I had no idea they had worked with Sue as well, but that put me even more at ease, since I had seen her work there and it was beautiful. Along with taking our thoughts into account, she also made suggestions of what else would look great, which we happily accepted and appreciated her input since she's the pro! Finding a florist was far and away the most challenging part of wedding planning for us. Thank GOODNESS we found Suzan!!! I had talked to many florists before finally an angel sent Suzan my way. Every other florist seemed flakey, disorganized, OUTRAGEOUSLY priced, it was bad all over. We were just about ready to give up and buy some flowers at the farmers market when I sent Suzan an email and she called me within ten minutes. She was WITH IT, professional, honest, organized, friendly, I felt like she really listened to me, so we set up an in person meeting for the following weekend. My soon to be husband, wedding coordinator and I met at her house to discuss the details of what we were looking for. One thing I really love about Suzan is you can tell she is super passionate about what she does and she will strive to get your flowers JUST RIGHT. Which surely is not an easy task, especially with someone like me who knows nothing about flowers! I scoured the internet for pictures of what I wanted and really wasn't able to find anything. I explained to Suzan that I wanted ALL THE COLORS and I wanted it to feel tropical! Our subtle/unofficial theme was Havana because my husband is Cuban. After meeting with Suzan we knew we had finally (after literally 6 months of searching) found our florist! Holy crap did she KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! Our flowers were everything I could have dreamed of and more. Suzan took my mile long emails, conversations from our meeting, invitation, name cards and Pinterest board and blended it all together to make my dream flowers into a reality. She literally NAILED IT. I will let the photos speak for themselves, but basically, Suzan is a flower rockstar. She is a true artist (but without the flakiness that seemed to come along with the other florists). She isn't the cheapest, but she also isn't the most expensive (and she is up front about that). My only regret is leaving the country 72 hours after our wedding because I wish we had got to enjoy the flowers longer!!! She has so much energy and passion for what she does. Every time we would meet I would leave our meetings even more excited. We recently hired Sue to do all the flowers for our wedding in Temecula and she did the most beautiful arrangements... I was more than pleased! Our flowers were AWESOME! I had them done by Suzan Merrill of SuzanMflorals.com. She was so easy to work with and came up with some great and very creative suggestions that made the ceremony spot look gorgeous! The arbor we were having the ceremony under was covered in curly willow and Sue wove red roses into it and hung a few roses and crystals from the top beam so they were sort of dripping down. My description is not doing it justice, but it was really really pretty. Our bouquets were the most beautiful red roses and mine had some white mini orchids in it. My groom's boutonniere and all the mom's flowers were simple and pretty, and the sweetheart table was very elegantly put together. I just loved working with her because I knew I wouldn't have to worry about a thing! Sue and her assistant Jennie helped with the setup and even took down the arbor decorations after the ceremony and pictures, so I was in good hands having them stay and take care of so many of the details! Sue is extremely professional and completely reliable. I LOVED working with her and am thankful she made our special day beautiful! read more

I am a more visual person which made planning difficult because I wanted to be able to explain what I wanted and hope that it came off correctly. Sue was a huge help when it came to this. Sometimes even drawing it out on a pad of paper to make it clear to me. In addition, she has very professional photo albums with all her work from each year. This was very impressive because many people resort to Pinterest or Google and say that they can create that look, but Sue really can and has the photos to prove it. I can't say enough great things about Sue and her work. Ten days before getting married, the florist I'd been working with flaked and stopped answering emails and phone calls. Although we were planning a small affair, it was still really important to me that my bouquet looked EXACTLY like a picture I'd pulled off The Knot right after getting engaged. I first spoke with Sue on a Tuesday at 9am (she picked up on the first ring -- love that!!), sent her my pictures and heard back from her 20 minutes later, when she let me know she'd already checked with her supplier, and getting all the flowers for the following Friday wedding would be a piece of cake. Sue ended up creating my bouquet, smaller versions for two attendants, and a few other small items, such as an orchid for my hair. Everything was delivered to the hotel exactly on time, and the bouquets were far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined -- and even more amazing than the bouquet photo I'd been staring at for nearly a year. Sue is a dream come true! Let me start by saying I had be imagining my wedding for about 3 years and during the three years, I had any magazine you could think of and pulling photos of things I liked, dis liked, kinda liked, and so on. I met with Sue about a year before the wedding day and pretty much overwhelmed her with photos. I had an idea in my head and was hoping that with all these ideas, she would be able to see what we wanted. She is a sweet heart and so fun to chat with so my husband and I could not wait to meet with her again when it got closer to the wedding. This time, still a ton of ideas were brought to the table, and we really began to nail down a design. It was amazing as she took the details and was on the same page as us! I was delighted and we were so excited for the wedding day to see what she would come up with. I wanted elegant, chic, modern with just a touch of the beach. OH MY WORD, she delivered! EVERYTHING from my bouquet (I cried when I saw the beauty of it), the ceremony (gorgeous), to cocktail hour (unbelievable), to the reception (makes me speechless). Sue is an angel that was able to see right into my heart and know what my dream wedding looked like. I keep looking at the photos of our wedding and I have to pinch myself! I contacted Suzanne by referral for a wedding floral quote two weeks ago, and even after sending a follow up e-mail, have yet to receive the "common decency" of a reply. Extremely unprofessional behavior in my opinion. That said, better to know now rather than later. I would NOT consider using her services now, even if she offered them free and would NOT under any circumstances refer her to others. If you need some guidance and advise, Sue is an expert. She knows her flowers and colors. We wanted the room to pop and Sue even helped us on tablecloth choices. She is there for you and will work with whatever your needs are. She is always available and really understood our preferences.
