Terrible and Disrespectful Experience at Onyx Theater…read more I took three senior citizens to the Onyx Theater to see what we believed was a movie about the band Nirvana, since my sister was a big Nirvana fan and the group was excited to see it. The movie was titled "Nirvanna: The Band - The Show - The Movie." We spent nearly $100 to get in and $100 on food there, went into the theater, and within the first ten minutes realized it was not about the band Nirvana at all, but instead about two comedians pretending to be in a band with a similar name. We immediately went back to the front to explain the misunderstanding and politely asked for a refund. Instead of showing any understanding, the staff began criticizing the three seniors for not noticing that "Nirvanna" was spelled with two N's instead of one. They acted as if these seniors were foolish for not catching the subtle spelling difference (one N vs. two N's), which was incredibly rude and unnecessary. The way they treated them was insulting, embarrassing, and completely lacking in class. A simple misunderstanding turned into a humiliating experience because of how dismissive and condescending the staff was. One star for a truly terrible experience and shockingly rude customer service.

I feel like there are food choices that I haven't seen at other theaters here, which also contributes to the uniqueness of their concessions area. As for the screening rooms, they have the same, comfy recliners as other Cinemarks and everything has been clean in my experience, thanks to the quick staff. It's located on the 2nd level of the Galleria above Round 1.

I told myself I'd wait until I got the full experience before dropping a review--and let me tell you, I did my homework. Three movies deep (Slow Mío, Remembering Him, Project Hail Mary) and a full concession tour like I was on a mission. Popcorn? Fresh and hitting. Pizza? Hot and actually satisfying. Hot dog? No regrets. Nachos? Gone before the previews ended. Every single time the food came out hot, ready, and did exactly what movie theater food is supposed to do--elevate the whole experience. Now let's talk about the real MVP: the staff. Every visit, different times, same energy--polite, welcoming, and on it. No attitude, no rush-you-along vibes... just solid customer service that makes you feel like you picked the right spot. The theater itself? Clean, organized, and inviting every single time. And I pay attention to the details--especially the restrooms. Because let's be honest, that's usually where places fall off. Not here. Three visits, different times of day, and they were spotless every time. That alone deserves a slow clap. Bonus points for the adult beverages at concessions. Because sometimes you want popcorn... and sometimes you want popcorn with a little "life is good" in a cup. All in all, the movies were great--but the theater made the experience even better. Cinemark Roseville Galleria is officially in my regular rotation. At this rate, they might as well save me a seat.

Also, noticed a silly comment from a previous visitor. As movie goers we should all understand that movie times are "delayed" due to previews. Eventually all the Guests were able to return to the respective auditoriums to finish seeing their different movies. My auditorium for Song Sung Blues had fifty four Guests! Best of luck to your movie house. Best of luck to your employees! Best of luck to your volunteers! I often use word of volunteers because since July 1991 I been twelve month volunteer at Salvation Army, so that is how I think!

I didn't mind paying the higher price since I was expecting the full 3D movie experience, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. The theater itself could really use some updates. The seats are worn--mine squeaked every time I moved, and the cushioning wasn't very comfortable. Another big issue was the amount of talking during the movie. I shushed a couple of times, but it felt like some people thought they were watching a movie at home rather than in a theater. On a positive note, the big screen was fantastic and perfect for a movie like Avatar. That part of the experience did not disappoint. As for concessions, the popcorn was just okay. I asked for lightly buttered, but it was heavily buttered instead, leaving me with greasy hands throughout the movie. Overall, the potential is there, but better seating, improved audience etiquette enforcement, and more attention to customer requests would go a long way toward improving the experience.

I wish that we had one in Roseville that was also Luxe. While they have redone the auditoriums from when it was a Regal theater, the concession stand and lobby has remained practically the same. Overall, everything seems to be fairly clean, but to be fair there's never been a time that we've come that there have been more than 10 people in our theater. The bathrooms are fine, but didn't appear to be part of the remodel, so it is very dated. No, as for the concessions, everything is movie theater prices, so it's going to be definitely on the pricier side. But the popcorn does also tend to either be burnt or just not taste very good. I don't know if they're using old popcorn or if the employees don't know how to make it properly yet, but overall concessions are pretty disappointing. Of the three times that we have seen a movie here, one of the times the sound quality was absolutely horrible. Looking back at reviews now it looks like that was an issue around that time, but it was never addressed to anyone upon buying tickets or checking tickets, which was really disappointing. The sound quality was just not great and if I had known it was going to be like that I wouldn't have seen my movie that day. All in all, I'm glad that we have a new theater in that location. And I'm hoping that with a little bit more time things can improve.
