Took my truck to replace a exhaust filter and 3weeks later it's saying it 80%full. Returned because they thought it might be the sensor. Wrong, a week later truck power reduced. They don't have the tools or credentials to clear error codes and caused my truck further damage. I paid 3500 and now paying additional $4000 to the dealer to fix their errors. Tried giving Betty a chance to fix it but stop returning my text and emails. Complaint filed, truck at the dealer trying to get fixed. read more

Took my 2000 Ford Lariat 250 Super duty to get the fluids changed and the mechanic pointed out a noise before starting explaining my fuel pump was not working correctly and advised it be replaced soon so I had it changed the following morning then after the mechanic changed the fuel pump he explained my mileage would improve as well as performance and he was spot on. Starts quicker and my mileage doubled... I would have never known. Hands down great service and excellent job. read more

Awesome Awesome Awesome!!! Took my truck in for new glow plugs, valve cover gaskets, and under valve cover wire harnesses. Betty the owner recommended new injector cups, injector O rings while the valve covers were off. Since my truck is pushing 200,000 miles I decided to do it. Turns out that two of the original injector cups had hairline cracks in them. I have NEVER had a shop work on my truck as I always did it myself.. However with back issues it was time to have work done by others. I was referred to Sutherland Diesel by my brother in law. Talked to Betty and explained that I'm very particular of my truck.. She ensured me that they would take good care of it during surgery. Picked my truck up yesterday and it's PERFECT!! Wesley worked on my truck and took the extra time to clean everything as I would have done.. Everything in the engine compartment was as clean as the day I dropped it off, Even a bit cleaner!!! Maybe OK for Ram/Cummins but not helpful for Ford Powerstroke. Put on unneeded fuel filters and left loose, engine immediately de-rated as soon as I tried to get up to speed on the freeway. Limped in to Antelope Valley Ford dealer for excellent service. Called Betty to give her a heads up on her mechanics not properly installing the fuel filter and she just ranted about the Ford dealer lying about her. The Ford dealer didn't know who installed the filters when they told me it was loose. Sad case of very unprofessional behavior and waste of money on unprofessional and unneeded work. Lost valuable time and money I can't afford to waste. read more

Took my 02 F350 powerstroke in for a transmission service. I have an ATS stage 2 trans and 5 star torque converter. Hands down these transmissions are worth the money. Got it back and noticed the trans temp gauge was rising higher then normal so I called Betty and she told me to come back. She asked if I could leave her the truck for a few days and I said no problem. They took the time to diagnose the vehicle properly and went above and beyond for my truck. Ultimately it ended up being my truck didn't like the new MERCON SP fluid so went back to the old and my truck now runs 10 degrees cooler. The truck runs flawless and the team here will genuinely take care of you. So I want to say thank you to Betty, Wesley and her team for taking care of my truck. Was having trouble with my 2nd Generation Dodge's tranny and called these guys because they sell ATS high performance transmissions. Talked to a nice lady who told me she had owned the same era truck and was very familiar with them. After getting a $6000 quote I told her I was tired of the truck feeling like it was slipping out of gear or the converter was locking and unlocking. There was a long pause....and then she suggested another $600 part in addition to the tranny. Having been a police detective for many years I knew something was not right. I felt she was not telling me something. Low and behold a Google search revealed what I was experiencing was a well know issue with 2nd Generation Dodges. It seems the power wire off the alternator sends electrical spikes to the truck's computer.....so common in fact ATS makes a $25 part called the Sponge to fix the problem! Funny a professional diesel truck tranny shop that is THE recommended ATS dealer in SOCAL where the sales person owned a 2nd Generation Dodge would not have known about this well documented problem or the fix for it.....or did they....? FYI...Wrapping foil around the alternator wire and resetting the TPPS fixed the problem. read more

I ran into some trouble with my stock transmission on my 2005 dodge so I gave Betty a call. Betty was willing to stay open later to receive my truck after her normal business hours which helped immensely! With just a few conversations she was able to diagnose the root cause of my problem. That was Monday night. Betty said the soonest they could work on my truck was Wednesday and sometime Tuesday I got a video of my truck driving down the road. Her mechanics had fixed my truck and it was ready for pickup on Wednesday. The quality of work was top notch and very clean. There wasn't a mess, and everything operates as it should. Well it looks like I finally found a diesel shop that I can trust AND actually knows what they are doing. I came across Sutherland Diesel Performance located in Palmdale after doing some hunting on the web. I drove up there to meet Betty (the owner, mechanic, customer service, HR, chief cook and bottle washer and all other associated tasks) back in February. Right off the bat, I saw that she was very familiar with the diesel and even more comforting to me, the Cummins. We discussed a course of action to address a shifting issue I have been dealing with for about 5-6 years now with no luck on getting it fixed. I have been ripped off, lied to and such by a couple of the local Orange County diesel shops so I was doubting if there was any shop around that could help me. That is until now!! I drove back up to Palmdale on April 4th and within a few hours, was back on the road headed for home. The shifting issue seems to have been fixed. Please don't take your truck to this garbage place. They are not mechanics, they are kids working on your trucks. I took my truck f250 6.0 in for an oil leak that happened to be an ICP sensor and when I picked up my truck I had a big boost leak because they couldn't put my turbo piping back together, I drove 3 miles and truck shut off so I towed it back and BETTY the owner said it was nothing they did that made the truck shut off. Truck was running before it went there even with an oil leak. Truck is not running now and she charged $1520. Truck is now at another shop and they said Sutherland diesel performance fried my computer, my FICM and wire harness and now i have to pay $2500 on top of the of the $1520 I already paid. I asked Betty to help me pay since they caused the problem and she said NOPE sorry. SO PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS GARBAGE SHOP THAT DOES NOTHING BUT TALK CRAP ABOUT YOUR TRUCKS. read more
