The chicken thigh yakitori was OK- some little bits were blackened which gave this dry bad burned aftertaste. The eel nigiri was really delicious. However the scallop nigiri tasted off, and unpleasantly bitter. The rhubarb dessert I didn't like at all, and left the whole thing. They gave me a chocolate mousse on the house because they noticed I didn't eat the dessert, but I didn't really like the mousse either. The desserts really weren't well balanced, I'd take them off the menu entirely. The cream was overwhelmingly sweet, rhubarb mushy, and crumbles perplexing. I get what they were going for with adding texture but it didn't work. The mousse was two note, raspberry and chocolate, overwhelmingly sweet. The worst part was about 10 minutes after leaving, my stomach started to hurt terribly. It was definitely something I ate there. I had horrible stomach cramps/pains and sickness following. I won't go into the details, but I didn't have anything else to eat and this came upon pretty soon after leaving the restaurant, so I'm certain it was from something there. Maybe the scallops I thought were off? I trusted all of the great reviews.. assumed they know how to handle their shellfish. Maybe the dessert? I don't know what made me sick here, and I'll spare you the details, but I'm stuck having to stay close to the bathroom now and I am not thrilled.

I absolutely love sushi. Not going to lie, I was a little hesitant ordering from here, because of how cheap/discounts that were advertised outside the restaurant. Main reason why is, since I consume raw sushi I am certainly cautious. One of my classmates told me it wasn't bad, therefore, I became more open to it. I ordered California rolls and salmon nigri to go! Generous portions, and it tasted fine! A room in the back reserved for special occasions, with low lighting, sunken seating and an amazingly relaxed feel. What happened next was unexpected to say the least. Jagermiesters were given and drunk left right and centre as were his own special schnapps served in wooded boxes. The food was exceptional, so much sushi and extras and wine and fun and smiles. There were 10 of us in the group and honestly we couldn't have drunk, ate or laughed more than we did that night. The service throughout was exceptional, fun, friendly, efficient all that. When it came time for the bill it was simply split 10 ways and at first I thought they had made a mistake...... 30€ was all they were asking per head. We had drunk at least 10 bottles of wine, numerous beers, had a sushi ship starter that on the menu cost 60€ and each had a main course of our own! WOW. i would have paid just that much to sit in a corner and watch the show. The place is ALWAYS packed and I can see why now. I selected the Sake Bento which came with tasty grilled salmon, salad, 6 maki sushi, 3 mini rolls, a pre-cut orange, and a generous serving of rice. Complimentary lychees and a schluck of lychee wine arrived as the included dessert. And all this at a cost less than 7 Euros as I was there before 5 o'clock. This is truly one of the best value meals in all of Vienna .... actually in all of anywhere! No wonder this is such a popular spot!

Three words, same thing... it's true, that this little shop has the word "sushi" within its name, but so many sushi shops already spam the area within and close to the 6th district, that i get myself bored b*tch*ng around this particular topic. Edo Sushi make them themselves, so different and experimental fillings decorate the menu and all for a super cheap price(the cheapest set with 12 dumplings is 4,80), that even my tightly choked wallet springs open like a jack in the box. I admit to not having tasted the more regular menus although a friend of mine calls them them quite good... but I do not mind them.. as a true dumpling addict, my brain needs the regular dosage. My daughter got a recommendation for a "good sushi place" within a 15 min walk of our hotel in Schweidenplatz. Our concierge recommended TokoRi, saying he often comes here himself. The decor is, well, Japanese. Cool fishtanks and a little fountain on the wall next to our table flowed into a little river running down the middle of the table. The tables are communal, but have plexiglas dividers between parties. We ordered: miso soups, California rolls (my younger daughter's only choice), gyoza, shrimp temporary, and the sushi sampler. The sushi was HUGE rolls, with generous fish on even more generous rice. It was tasty and fresh and held together well. The only dissapointment was the gyoza. My wife described the very finely minced filling as tasteless. And the price was very reasonable, given what we have been spending inVienna. Otherwise, if you are looking for good sushi near Scweidenplatz, look no further than TokiRi.
