The food was so fresh and tasty we will return. We ordered 3 separate dishes and shared. I tried the seafood soup and it was very good. The dynamite rolls were exceptional and the chicken balls were delicious. It was a great way to eat sushi at a reasonable price. We all enjoyed the fresh Cali rolls and dinner was served promptly by excellent staff. We walked to the location from our accommodation and that was good because parking is limited. The worst place ever, service is very bad same as there food . I couldn't even eat anything. They used the rice from other plates to do there rolls. This place is a one star for both the quality and price. $38 for off smelling sashimi that's cut in half is just not it. Also the ambience was horrible in the sense that there was 0 music, it felt like we were in a cafeteria or staff room. The funniest part of the experience was when we were sat down and received 3 slivers of ginger on our plate. Please refer to my first review where I claimed (and still believe) that not much on the menu is safe to order. However, it seems my boyfriend and I found the two safest bets! Everytime we get takeout from here now, he gets the black dragon rolls and I get the salmon set. The freshness of the salmon sashimi is nothing compared to what you get in Toronto but I think it's the best that I'll get here in Thunder Bay and it's truthfully not bad! read more

The food here tastes about the same as any standard buffet restaurant, and at about the expected price (~$17 for lunch, ~$25 for dinner). My favourites are: 1/ Salmon sashimi/sushi, 2/ Salmon teriyaki, 3/ Buttered broccoli, 4/ Beef skewers; These are what I find most valuable items (stuff I can't make myself) with the rest of the items considered as a nice bonus. Also, all the food is delivered promptly and accurately (this used to be a problem a couple of years ago). Not the best sushi I've ever had, but it satisfied my craving for AYCE. Pros: - There were only 2-3 other groups in the restaurant, so our dining experience was fairly quiet. - I really enjoyed the Arctic Roll and the ribs. - Bathrooms were quite clean. Cons: - Service was unenthusiastic. - Most of the rolls were quite bland (as pointed out by another reviewer), and some of those containing tempura were not fresh. If you have ever wanted last weeks sushi this is the place to go. Like fast service? Find another sushi joint because this isn't your place. If you've ever seen Zootopia, the staff here is slower than the sloths. If you have never been to a sushi place and don't know what to do don't expect any help. You better figure it out on your own. I was largely underwhelmed with Sushi Station. The prices were fair enough for the style (all you can eat) but I wasn't a fan of the food. The fish tasted old, but as if it was frozen and just thawed out. This is more of a personal preference, but I didn't like how thickly the fish was cut. The rolls were quite bland, but, I did enjoy the tofu and egg sushi. However, the beef sashimi was very good! It was tender, moist and delicious. I would avoid the fried foods. The calamari was incredibly chewy and was served with a thick, sickly sweet bbq sauce. The chicken was drowning in sauce, and my spring roll tasted like it was cooked in very old oil. My friend enjoyed her coconut shrimp, but I found it to be too sweet for me. There is a large variety of food, which is good, such as pad Thai and udon noodles. Good for if someone in your group dislikes sushi. All in all, I don't think I'll be coming back. I didn't like the food very much, but it was okay. However, they do offer students a 10% discount, and if you pay with cash, you get 5% off! read more

My friends and I decided on Sushi Station because we were staying at the hotel next door and with below 0 temperatures, we were not willing to venture further then outside our doorstep. The servers here were a bit manic. Genuinely running around and hollering after they left our table of 6. They have an all-you-can-eat option for lunch and dinner ($22.99 for dinner), but the catch is any food for which you don't eat you will be charged additionally. I was not terribly starving so I ordered off the a la carte menu. The sweet potato roll was pretty flavorless. The teriyaki salmon had more cucumber inside than salmon and was pretty lack luster as well. Each were 6 good sized pieces. But no wasabi, ginger, or any sauces to accompany the sushi my friends and I ordered. I expected better sushi being located on a lake, but the quality was low. Very sad eating experience. More rice and panko then raw fish. One roll wait 15 min, get the next roll... Orders forgotten which means being cheated out of food for ' all you can eat' . Sushi station was closed after a fire and we wanted to support the reoepning, bad move! Every dollar spent there was one too much. Me and three other friends went to Sushi Station on a quiet Sunday evening. We walked in the door and weren't greeted for the first ~10 minutes. After being greeted it was a 20 minute wait. We sit down and wait awhile for a server. We finally get some water. After another ten minutes the server comes by and takes our order. I ordered a "Chefs Choice" chicken and rice. My friends ordered several different kinds of sushi rolls and some wan-tans. After about 25 minutes the sushi finally comes they dig in. (I had a few myself, it was sub par) Another 20 minutes goes by and my food nor the wan-tans have showed up. Our server hadn't stopped by after the sushi was dropped so I had to go find someone to ask about the rest of the food. They forgot about it. I told them I no longer wanted it. They brought it out anyway in open to go boxes. It was cold. I gave it back because I wasn't going to pay for it. The wan-tans never came out. We asked for our check and got out of there. They weren't very sympathetic and just brushed it off. I definitely don't recommend this place. read more
